Customers often highlight the PRO Z690-A DDR4 motherboard's strong performance and overclocking capabilities, along with its competitive price and user-friendly design. Many appreciate its ease of setup and the inclusion of multiple M.2 slots. However, some users point out the lack of integrated Wi-Fi and find the included instructions inadequate. A small number also reported issues with XMP profiles and the ethernet port.

Purchased this along with an I9-12900k that was in stock, found the I9 worked out of the box with no bios update required. it supports ddr4, did have an issue with Corsair Vengeance ram not wanting to go XMP. 4 sticks of the same 16gig 3600mhz would not load at full speed. had to set it to 3600mhz to get it loaded. just be aware of this if running 4 sticks of ram. the bios was only 2 months behind and there is already two updates. plenty of USB slots on board, it has no Physical RGB on the board but it Does have RBG headers, it does require two 8pin cpu power connectors, make sure your PSU has that ability.

Rock solid/stable. Check MSI QVL NVME List

Make sure you check the MSI QVL support list for M.2 nvme drives you can use. My 1TB S70 Blade didn't work, and I had no what was wrong. You can also use PcPartPicker. Just go to system builder, and select this motherboard. Once you do that, and search for nvme drives, it will show you what is compatible. Also, BB uses their own SKU numbers, so make sure when you reference the MSI QVL list, you cross reference the PCPP as well.
Rock solid motherboard. I had originally bought the Gigabyte Gaming X DDR4, and used that with my 12600k. Nightmare of a board. Until GB fixes their bios/M.2 recognizing/Ram support etc avoid that board, and get this one. Big shout out to Buildzoid, and Frame Chasers for pointing this board out. It made the whole nightmare with Gigabyte, easier to deal with.

Didn’t realize there was a version without wifi and got one without, the would be my only complaint, if the board doesn’t include wifi at this price, then what are you doing.

The lack of wifi does end up sucking a bit but otherwise this is a solid motherboard for the price. Save yourself the trouble though and buy one that has wifi included.

Great budget board to upgrade to alder lake . Ddr4 means you won’t have to sell blood for ddr5 ram. Everything works well and the board feels like a mid range atx board. The LAN drivers aren’t installed so you do need to Download it from a different pc and manually install it. Other than that no complaints, bios is not laggy as someone stated, XMP works flawlessly. Great for overclocking my i5 12600k. Wouldn’t buy any other board at the moment.

Needs a bios update for 13th gen. Luckily you only need a usb drive and another pc to download it and flash. Been a really solid motherboard. Wish it had WiFi built in but overall it's been just fantastic. Runs any os. Runs any game. 3 nvme slots is nice for people like me who are just over using spinning rust. I don't have a single complaint.

Motherboard looks simple and perhaps boring on the thumbnail but it is NOT. This MB is definitely worth it and does everything you need.

Best value DDR4 LGA 1700 MOBO out there. There's nothing fancy about this board but it's got all the OC options you could want. Cons are that the BIOS UI is a little confusing to navigate and it doesn't provide much information on the potential impact individual settings may have on your system.

First board had a damaged cpu socket (one of the pins was bent). Second board worked without issue. Able to get Windows 11 up and running without any problems. Really like that only one of the 4 nvme slots is placed under the video card slot.

Works perfect for what I want. I have had no issues running my I7 12700K on here. There's plenty of space to include everything I want without having to cram anything next to each other. The included heatsink, standoffs, and screws for m.2 drives was awesome as well. The amount of features on the board for the price is impressive too. Definitely pick this board up if you want to score a deal.

This Board is pretty elite for the price. Easy install. I matched with a GIGABYTE - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 12GB and a Intel - Core i5-12600K. This thing runs like a dream. It runs pretty close to another build that cost 4 times as much.

Value for money without a compromise on performance. You can always add a wireless WiFi adapter if you don’t want a lan connection with this board.

Built a new machine with the bleeding edge components from Intel and others, however I didn't need anything with a lot of frills and this suited my purpose very nicely.
Love having 4 x M.2 SSD slots, however be warned that if you have a large graphics card, it covers up the second slot, making it unusable if you have any riser on the SSD. Additionally slot 3 is only at PCIe 3 speeds
PCI-E Steel armor is a nice addition that I didn't have in my last MSI board.
Cons - The BIOS fan control leaves some to be desired and isn't that straight forward. More troublesome is the fact that MSI Center overrides whatever you have in BIOS and sometimes conflicts with it. Took me a while to figure out the trick to get them to work together
Given where tech is these days I'd think that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth would be standard stuff on higher end boards such as these. Not a deal breaker though.

Best Buy: 5 stars. The MoBo: 2 stars, READ b4 buy!

This review has nothing to do with Best Buy as a whole, the buying/shipping/delivery process was fantastic as far as BB is concerned and deserve 5 stars. However, the board itself has a major flaw.
After connecting everything and booting up for the first time, I noticed I had no internet via ethernet. My port's link-lights were not lighting up. I did however have wi-fi and was able to get on the internet to troubleshoot. I did absolutely everything to resolved this "dead" port, but nothing worked. I looked it up and sure enough it's a huge common problem with MSI and the Intel I-225v built-in ethernet port and potentially AT&T internet. Sounds weird, but I saw a lot of people complaining said they had AT&T. I also noticed that the port would come alive when I was rebooting or shutting the PC down and some people got it to work, but they needed install a switch in-between the ethernet port and their main internet drop from their ISP... very weird.
Nonetheless, I decided to utilize the PCI-E slot on the mobo and purchased a TP-Link 2.5GB PCI-e Network Card (TX201) from Amazon for like $30. I popped it in and immediately had my 900+ download/upload speeds, since I have 1gb internet.
TL;DR - Ethernet port didn't work, but not because of a DOA ethernet port. I bought a PCI-e NIC from Amazon and it worked flawlessly.
Hope this helps!

Good motherboard, only issue i had was how picky it was to update the bios using usb and how it overclocked my cpu to where it was thermal throttling out of the box. Has alot of nice features though!

Have you ever had something that did its job so well you didnt even notice it? This. Does everything proper and never hiccups. Paired with a 13900k and a MSI 4080 I couldnt ask for a better setup. I know 790's are out and this only does ddr4, but if money is tight this is perfect.

Amazing Motherboard, I make music so i need a powerful CPU to be able to run all the plugins and effects in the music software. I got a new CPU however the motherboard i had wasn’t compatible. I bought this one to replace my last one since it was compatible with my new CPU and my computer actually runs better overall.
