Enjoyed watching this so much! Everyone involved did a wonderful job, and this new take on the story is captivating. Yes it is different to the animated version, but in such a way you can love both as separate films based on the same story. I loved the original Disney film Was a bit skeptical when it was announced that the live action would be quite different but the approach they took in my opinion adds a greater level of respect and dignity to the story of Mulan.

as a grandfather and someone who did not see the animated version but feel i know the story from reviews and shorts through the years. i had hoped my granddaughter would like to see the live version as we see a lot of first run movies at the theater until this year. i waited until the movie came out in 4k was extremely happy with this version as i was with jungle book. i would recommend this version to all who know the story.

I have 4 versions of Mulan. 2 from China and 2 from Disney. There were many differences and similarities between the 4 movies. This movie was not a remake of the Disney Mulan with real people. It was a movie of its own making. I hope to watch this movie again soon. I think it is bad that because the actor in the movie exercised her free speech that the movie was black listed with bad reviews. I sometimes do not think that we have freedom of speech in this country if your opinion is different. Watch the movie. The movie is good. You will like the movie. The colors were well chosen.

As a major Disney fan, I love all the animated movies. And, I love almost all the live-action remakes. I was very sceptical of this movie as I did not believe that it would be as entertaining as the original animated movie. Boy, was I wrong! My wife and I totally loved this movie. I totally loved the action and the actors did a phenomenal job in their roles. I really enjoyed the CGI effects. This is a highly entertaining movie and I totally recommend this to anyone that enjoys action movie.

Good movie, though you can see the definite influence that the Chinese government has on it. There are some odd moments that directly seem to cater to the demands that the Chinese government puts on movies released there. Other than that, and somewhat poor CGI of one of the fantasy characters, it was a good movie, safe for the slightly older kids.

I enjoyed the movie. Thought it was well made with great sound and scenes. Watched it with my grandkids. We initially watched the movie outdoors on 144” screen. Looked great but I think my grandkids would have enjoyed it more if it had more of a music score they recognized. I decided to buy the disc so I could get the digital copy to add to my library but the digital copy was missing from the package. I had to go back to BB and exchange. This kind of defeats the purpose of ordering it online. I asked to open the replacement before leaving. I didn’t want to return again.

After waiting so long for disc to be available , I watched same day it was delivered ( at ti.e best buy used a company called : SHIPTI hope I have spelling right. It arrived next day ) and because of that I order EVERY FORMAT. I cried for Mulan and really cheered when she conquered the enemy, she even turned the bad lady to her side. For women movie is empowering. Such beautiful locations or scenes and best of all NO breaking out in songs, it was a really storytelling with characters who moved you.

Great movie. But so removed from the original animated movie, you might enjoy it more if you consider them to not have anything to do with each other. There’s no music, no Mushu, no romance. The only real thing making it a Mulan movie is her name is Mulan. They don’t do a great job of making you feel like she’s a boy in the army. It’s a lazy gender bend if you ask me. But the movie has everything a live action Disney movie can want or need. Great story, great special effects, great score, great action and emotion. Just don’t compare it to the cartoon too much and you’ll like it a lot more.

This 4K Blu Ray of Mulan on a 4K system with an OLED TV is visually stunning. It is one of the most colorful and beautifully filmed movies that I have ever watched. The acting was outstanding, the cinematography was spectacular, the action was well paced, the direction and basically everything about this film was near perfection for my wife and I. This will be watched many times in the years to come.

I was looking forward to seeing this in the theater. After watching it at home I wish I could have had the chance. I like the original animated version and was pleasantly excited to see how much this film makes Mulan its own. There isn't a dragon, but they work in some folklore to make up for that. The cast is great and the action is too. There are some scenes recreated from the 1st but I never felt like I was watching a remake. Video & Audio are great, plus there are a bunch of cool special features.

This review would be a 5 star if not for the trouble I had. I originally bought the 4K non steelbook version. On opening, I noticed the digital copy sheet was missing. I returned it to Best Buy and exchanged it for another copy. The "new" copy also was missing the digital copy code! I decided to try the steelbook and it did have the digital copy. Kudos to Best Buy for standing behind their merchandise, but Disney's Quality Control needs work. BTW I loved the movie. The cinematography is amazing and the sound quality is audiophile quality.

The live-action remake of Disney's animated classic Mulan is very good. Initially, I was dismayed about Mushu, Li Shang, the grandmother, and the musical numbers being removed for the new adaptation. What the screenwriters came up with to replace the excised characters is nothing short of brilliant. The 4K video and audio are stellar. All of the special features are worth viewing. I highly recommend this version. It is a perfect companion piece to Mulan (1998) and Mulan II.

My wife and I watched this movie as a rental. We were so impressed with the bright, colorful scenery and the story. Having loved the animated Mulan, we tried to be objective. Ignoring the temptation to compare this to the precursor, we thoroughly enjoyed this film. I found the 4K version slightly darker on our TV. I was told to defeat the HDR feature on the TV. But the Blu ray is dazzling enough. If you watch the movie on its own, you will be entertained.

A classic Disney cartoon gets a live action remake. I wasn't sure if I was going to like this as a live movie (no dragon), but it was better than expected. The family really enjoyed it. The picture quality is great for this 4K release. Love the rich colors. Sound is great as well. Most of the Disney live remakes have worked pretty well and Mulan is no exception. I love the artwork on this steelbook as well. Grab your copy now.

Watched this movie immediately after watching the 1991 animated film. Mushu gone and a change from musical to action film good. If they weren’t trying to “remake” the animated version some of the scenes could have been better. I’m not Chinese but with all the producers and key decision-makers not being Chinese it didn’t feel right like Hero or Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Watched digital stream on 4K non-HDR laptop.

I ordered the DVD, BluRay, and digital copy of Mulan. The DVD and Blu Ray both played the movie with crisp picture and no flaws. I added the digital copy to my online collection of Moviesanywhere.com. The digital code loaded immediately and I will enjoy watching my movies on business trips as soon as the nations restrictions due to Covid-19 have been lifted and we return to a semblance of normalcy.

I found this to be the best live action of the Disney animated movies to date. I know some are concerned that the music from the animated movie was not in this movie but personally I liked having just the fine score that was used. The special affects were fun and a fine addition to the choreography of the movie. I am not sure the very young will appreciate this version but they will eventually.

Two parts to this review. First is the disc itself. Great packaging and the quality of the movie is stunning. On my Q80 Samsung the imagine is crisp and clean. The colors pop out and sounds is wonderful. For the movie itself, what a great story. I have read some negative reviews but it was a fun movie with humor, sadness, action, heroes and villains. Who could ask for anything more!

Excellent video package. I have been a Mulan fan since the first Disney animated feature. I’m a little disappointed that the two sidekicks are not part of this version opting for a more realistic story. Since We watched this on Disney+ I knew I wanted to own it as part of my Mulan collection. The extras are great and something I have grown to expect from Disney. And are now included in the Digital code download. I lucked into a Best Buy sale and used some Rewards dollars to make it an even better deal. Happy Camper!

We really wanted to see this movie but didn't want to sign up for the Disney account. Our Blue Ray Player has issues to play BR discs now which is so frustrating. Good thing there is a digital copy included. My wife and I enjoyed the movie and liked how it wasn't a duplicated live-action version of the animated one. Though we did miss Eddie Murphy's sassy dragon character.
