If you love a film like “Clue”, you know, the old one? This is for you! It’s a fantastic story with so many twists. Totally enjoyable!
As for 4K quality picture, well it Is somehow okay, I wish it was brilliantly gorgeous like John Wick but it’s not but that could not be a problem for anybody if they don’t care lol.

Would have to say it’s a different take on the story than the 70s version. I thought it was a little heavy on the cgi, once again far different than previous film. Must admit my preference is to original but I am an old man

This is a really good murder mystery movie that has an immersive atmosphere and holds your attention. The direction is good and it is shot very well with a nice and clear cinematography. The cast is also excellent across the board and they are all a joy to watch. The blu ray has a good picture/sound quality and a few special features as well.

It was so nice to find this movie available at a great price. It’s a fun entertaining murder mystery. I wish Best Buy would still sell physical movies!

I really enjoy Kenneth Branagh's portrayal of Poirot and how he tries to create some of his backstory. It takes a few liberties with the original book vs. the movie, but what movie doesn't do that?

Great remake of the original despite all the CG, which is quite obvious but it does look glorious. Very good picture and audio quality, nice set of bonus materials a worthy purchase when on sale.

I heard mediocre reviews. Think that it is a good movie. I mainly purchased it because I wanted something to demo my new 4k TV. This is shot with 70mm which contains much more detail than digital film. Looks amazing in 4k.

Really purchased the movie based on the ensemble amongst the cast and it certainly did not disappoint. More whodunit films should follow this model of cinematography and development of plot. Definitely recommend this if viewers like a good mystery/thriller.

Loved this movie. Watched it three times in a row then watched the extras. Knew the storyline but still was intriguing. Scenes with train in the snow were gorgeous.

Nice to see a modern take on an older type of film. I like how it was kept as a period piece and not modernized. I never saw the original but i like ...and then there were none and 10 little indians which take a similar approach to people trapped in an area and no one knows who the killer is.

The acting and the cinematography are outstanding in this film. There is an all-star cast who shine. Kenneth Branagh was outstanding as the starring actor as Hercule Poirot and as the director for the film. This movie is as good as, if not superior to, the original one many years ago.

The costumes, sets and cinematography are breathtaking. The script is true to Agatha Christy’s book. Good performances by all the cast, but I found the original cast matched my mental picture of the book better than the new cast, so I prefer it. Well worth the time to view.

I had low expectations for this film, but my wife is a big fan of the genre so we got it. It was a surprisingly good adaptation of a story that's been done so many times before. Branagh was a very good Poirot and he got the most out of the all-star cast.

The first of a new series of Poirot films. Great cast, great twist, cool setting. An intriguing look back at an age with more glamour and mystery.

The 4K Blu-ray looks and sounds good, but that’s no surprise for a modern movie transferred to disc. As for the film itself, it’s an adaptation made with making new younger fans for one of the world’s most revered mystery authors.
Longtime fans of Agatha Christie or people who have read the book (I have) may find this production of Murder on the Orient Express a bit too stylized. I certainly did, but while I didn’t necessarily enjoy it more than older films of the same story, I found it engaging enough. MILD SPOILER ALERT… I won’t say who the murderer is in this version, but for those worried that it deviates significantly from the novel, it doesn’t. No more than the Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings trilogy deviates from those books; the spirit is still there, just pumped full of adrenaline and quick cuts. But if it’s a bit too modern for some fans, it should make up for that by having a great cast of established actors (Kenneth Branagh as Poirot, Judi Dench as Princess Dragomiroff) and rising stars (Daisy Ridley as Mary Debenham, Leslie Odom, Jr., as Dr. Arbuthnot). The pace is kinetic, but the elements of mystery are still intact, and the conundrum of the trapped train is quite effectively depicted with the help of modern special effects. I admit, I cringed and smirked at the Kung Fu display of Count Andrenyi, but as far as modern additions, I did get a genuine chill at Branagh’s intensity of the revelation of the mystery (“You may lie to God, but not to Hercule Poirot”).
I buy my movies when the price seems right. I splurged on Avengers: Endgame to watch it again immediately on 4K, and was happy to catch it for $20; for Murder on the Orient Express, I held off until it dropped to about $13 (and Best Buy FINALLY got it back in stock). I think that was the best decision. It’s a film worth watching at least once, maybe again in a year or two, and a bit less martial arts than most modern movies, even if it’s not quite as well done as Knives Out.
