Customers are saying

Customers express satisfaction with the game's graphics, frequently praising their quality. However, a common complaint centers around the controls, which some users find challenging and difficult to master initially. The controls are described as different from other similar titles, requiring an adjustment period. This suggests a potential trade-off between visually appealing graphics and a steeper learning curve for gameplay.

Game Has a Learning Curve, But Is Fun

This game has a definite learning curve. I like a lot of people who wrote reviews had a tough time controlling the bike. I then figured out that I was (like most probably are) using the body control (right stick) way to much. Once I layed off the right stick I started getting firsts by a huge margin. I only use it to set my self up for a landing or for tight corners. Holeshots are easy, the gate usually drops after the other riders have revved their bikes for 5 seconds. Oh, and their is a clutch (R1) unlike one of the reviews stated. The freestyle if cool since you use L1 + R3 to do tricks instead of trying to memorize a bunch of buttons. More realistic, cleaner, and tougher than Untamed.

    Fun! Difficult, but fun!

My wife and I love this game. However, the controls are extremely touchy and take some time to learn. There's a fine line between a game that's challenging yet fun, and a game that's so hard to play it takes all the fun out of it and you wind up throwing the game across the room. This game is on that fine line. We love playing the game, but we can't place higher than tenth to save our lives. You'll wreck or run off course about 15 times before you finish the race. We can't go more than ten feet in a race without falling off. If someone barely touches you, you fall off. If you hit a jump just a hair off, you end up landing in the crowd or in the woods. If you land wrong, you fall off. If you turn a hair too sharply, you fall off. If you brush an obstacle, you fall off. If you sneeze, you fall off. It's very frustrating at times, but you still want to play. Personally, I recommend spending some time by yourself in freestyle to learn the controls before going on to the races. Customization is fun, and they have a lot of vehicles to choose from. (If you can win a race to unlock them.) Had this game been easier to play, I would have given it 5 stars. But, my wife and I still love it and are determined to get better. (Plus, this game may come easier to others.) I definitely recommend it.

this game is awesome, forget the haters, its a new game with new controls and people that conformed to old mx controls are having trouble adjusting and they say things to knock it when there old dogs who are unable to learn new tricks, the terrain change from you bike is awesome , every lap is different cuz you rip up the terrain, the graphics are unreal, there so cutting edge i feel like im there. this game feels like real wild dirtbike rideing try it and give yourself time to adjust, after that youll be tearing up its online modes against your friends. and that feels good lol

Good Game, Fun, and Great Graphics

This is a great game for anyone who enjoy competitive racing. I personally love it now. Its more fun than untamed because you do a lot more that just boring, repetitive free ride. The Graphics are great and the game is a lot of fun. The only thing is you can easily lose control of your bike when you use rider reflexes.

A little disclaimer here: I am not a "gamer", I race motocross. Therefore, I do not posess the skills that a 14 year old "gamer" has when it comes to the PS3. Also, I love MXUnleashed, it is my favorite game. Now that thats out of the way, why this great game misses the mark: The physics engine is too sensitive. If real racing were like this, I'd quit. The bike changes direction unexpectedly, and all the time. Sometimes for no reason. I know they were trying to work ruts into the game, but the bike in the game acted like cross rutting was the only thing it could do. Going left, going left, going...Nope, going right! Nothing is as irritating as lining up a pair of doubles, only to land the first set and have the bike take off one way or the other and have to scramble to get it straight for the next one. Why did it change direction? I don't know, there aren't a lot of ruts on the landing of big jumps usually. When you crash, and you will, often, there is a helpful feature that gives you a chance to pull it out, kinda the games version of gassing it. Forget it, by the time you register that you are crashing and there is an arrow to tell you what to do, its too late. Sometimes the thing would cross rut on flat ground. And the sand racing? Come on. The first three levels are supposed to be the simplest. They aren't. After the twelfth time I restarted the third race just so I could finish top three out of four I was tired of the game. (By the way, I beat MXUnleashed with firsts on every race once I went back and cleaned up some of my bad races. I only had to restart a race twice in the whole game.) Also, if you leave the track (and you will), you get a time penalty. Realistic maybe, but after fighting like mad to get third only to be dropped to fourth on time penalties, well, it isn't fun. The controls. Actually, I liked the controls for the most part. It was more realistic to actual riding (except there is no clutch)(!?!?) To jump, you pull back on the "bars" (or push forward to stay low), which is more realistic to me that the Unleashed controls. The throttle is easy to use, as is the brake. The soundtrack is very good, but I found the engine sounds to be lacking cohesion with what was happening on the track pretty often. All in all, with the exception of the graphics, this game does not measure up to the fun factor of its big brother, MX Unleashed. I am taking it off my Christmas list. RENT BEFORE YOU BUY!

This game is very hard to jus pick up and get right away controlls are way different than other titles. On the flip side it makes the game very challenging. The online play is fun i play with friends all over the us and the races are very fun. I wouldnt get this game if you dont have time to perfect your skills cause it will be very frustrating but if your really into motocross racing games you will love the challenge plenty of different races cars buggys quads supercross out door nationals free ride freestyle tons of fun.

the problem i have with this game is the handling. If u dont already kno, the left anolog stick turns the bars and the right stick is to lean left, right, forward, and backwards. when taking of from a jump or just going over little bumps if ur slightly leaning to the left or right the rider just falls over like when i tried to scrub the just faceplants off the takeoff. the handling just doesent compare to mx vs atv untamed.

So far unimpressed. The game is difficult to play. Bike sounds not realistic compared to previous games made by rainbow studios. Waited a long time for a ps3 version of the mx vs atv series, in a nutshell, disappointed so far. Lack of brand name bikes and atvs. Graphics a strong point, although every other negative about the game outweighs the small amount of positives. hope next game if they make one will be better.

Lame downgrade of the MX vs ATV series

So in the last game, MX vs ATV Untamed, there were 8 huge areas you could free ride in and they had tons of things to interact with. This game has only three areas, with two locked to start with. They are small and just have terrain. If you want a big world to explore, get MX vs ATV Untamed. This game is lame downgrade.

This is the best dirtbike game yet, ya its a little hard at first, but once you figure it out, you will love it, its the best mx game yet and if you ride dirtbikes in real life then you will definitely appreciate the realistic sounds of the dirtbikes and the way it handles!!!! awesome game. Next mx vs atv they should concentrate on the dirtbikes and quads more on perfecting them and leave the dum machines out of it..
