Daniel Day Lewis is without a shadow of a doubt, the best actor alive. His roles in There Will Be Blood, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Gangs of New York, Lincoln and the Age of Innocence are all proof of that fact. My Left foot is Lewis' most physical role of all as he plays a man with Cerebral Palsy who learns to paint with his only controllable limb: his left foot. It's a tale of tragedy and triumph that stands the test of time.

The greatest living actor in his finest performance. Those who love Day-Lewis in his more modern roles (Gangs of New York, There Will be Blood, etc.) must watch this film when the world first took notice of his incredible talent. Oh and doesn't hurt to have the amazing Jim Sheridan directing.

This is a very moving story as well as a story that doesn't ask for too much sympathy. It is driven by Lewis' performance, which is up there in the greatest of all performances.
