Season 2 changes locations. Alexa Crowe returns home to Auckland, New Zealand. However, the local police soon want her to again be a consultant investigating unsolved murders. Year 2 is just as good as year 1. The mysteries are often complex. Writing and characterizations remain just as good as the first year. Alexa’s data analyst/hacker assistant, Madison, comes over from Australia to help with the first case and winds up relocating permanently. Madison also moves into Alexa’s apartment. But Alexa’s past life growing up in Auckland starts intruding on some of the cases. And some recognizable faces show up in guest roles. Fans of “Midsommer Murders” may recognize Bill Bailey. The surprising cameo is William Shatner. (Yes, he plays up to Captain Kirk’s stereotype. He asks Alexa for a date.). All in all, a very enjoyable police procedural.
