    "Mysterious Island" is the movie version of the Jules Verne classic novel. The movie is based on the book--its actually more of a "Cliff Notes" version. Much detail is condensed, and some other things unnecessarily added, which makes it less than stellar film making. It is not bad--just falls short of being good because it relies on special effects genius Ray Harryhausen to rescue it. Decent actors--though no "A-listers"--and an adequate script. Overall, a fairly tepid attempt to sensationalize a truly great book into something akin to the fabulous "Jason and the Argonauts" made around the same time.

    Grafics old but at time was very good. I still like the old moves. Bought this to go with old journey to center of the earth. This way I could show our old movies and how they compared to the new versions.

    Another movie by Ray Harryhausen didn't remember it then when I seen it it all started to come back oldie but goodie

    Remember watching this when I was a child. Watching this movie again, sure brings back memories. Excellent movie!
