So unless you are already a fan of MST3k than you may not know that the show is a couple of ad hoc robots made out of garage sale garbage who hang out with a marooned corporate pleb who pass the time critiquing the absolute worst movies they can find. While there are a few others on this DVD obviously the focus is on "Manos" which is a real movie that was shot in El Paso Texas of all places. In most fans opinion, and mine as well, it's really the best episode of the series. If you are a fan of watching movies that are sometimes so poorly done that they actually have their own hidden kitsch value than you will probably dig this stuff. If you have no sense of humor than you should probably look for something else. Will I watch this more than once? Oh yeah!

The episode is certainly one of the best MST3Ks of all time (possibly the best), and Shout has given it a pretty decent DVD re-release. The added bonus features are nice, but that being said, if you're looking for a better version of the original movie sans-MST3K there's a far better DVD / Blu-ray version and the Hotel Torgo documentary doesn't appeared to have been very well researched and is at times incorrect. If you already have a previous DVD of the MST3K episode, this is probably only for completists because of the exclusive bonus features. If you don't already own it, this is a pretty easy recommend.

The opportunity to see one of the worst films of all time, Manos Hands of Fate, both with and without Mystery Science Theater commentary is terrific. Who knew that a low budget turkey filmed by a former manure salesman would go on to such great fame in the pantheon of terrible films? And at a mere $5 in the bargain bin, who could pass this up?

I already have this episode on another MST3K compilation, but this standalone DVD has extra bonus features that my other copy lacks making this well worth double dipping. Shout Factory also seems to do a noticeably better job with the transfer, the picture is sharper and the colors a more accurate and saturated. Plus, its freaking hilarious!

I first watched this episode of MST3K when it first aired on TV. This was one of the funniest episodes I ever saw, and watched it every chance I got. I had it on VHS years ago, but saw this in a bin at my Best Buy, and had to get it. They are finally making a sequel to Manos, which should come out next year. I'm excited for that.

For MST3k fans, this is THE comprehensive "Manos" set - the episode itself, a bonus disc with "Manos" on its own, documentaries about "Manos", the experience of riffing on it, and one about Jam Handy. Oh yeah - for good measure, you get both parts of Hired! (a Jam Handy production) on disc two.

Manos: The Hands Of Fate has to be the worst movie ever made. The only version worth watching is the version that was lampooned by MST3K. They destroy the movie with their patented sarcasm. It's definitely worth the price for some great laughs!

Probably the #1 MST3K show! Watching it this way may be the only way to truly 'enjoy' this film. Their (hilarious) treatment makes it very re-watchable. Highly recommended!

I had to have this classic episode. This show is one my favorite childhood memories. If you haven't seen this your missing out. Not much to say other than this is a great, funny, and quotable MST3k.

Manos is the real worst movie ever (eat your heart out Plan 9 from Outer Space)! And the best way to watch it is with Joel and the Bots riffing all the way!
