    Great Headphones With Superb Sound

I got these headphones after researching many different models. I was very skeptical to say the least. When I first put them on, they felt kind of uncomfortable because of their size. The headphone is a bit bigger than many other IEMs so they stick out the ear. I didn’t think they would provide a solid fit and the ear tips seemed somewhat uncomfortable also. The headphones are made of aluminum and are VERY light weight. They are strong and look like the housing will hold up against lots of wear and tear. As mentioned before, they are on the big side and stick out the ear but you get used to it after a little while. I thought they would fall out because they are so big, though this never really happened. They stayed in my ears securely. The ear tips are all silicone, no foam tips. They come in small, medium and large - 1 pair of small, 2 pairs of mids and 1 pair of large. All of the tips are a bit rigid, and they are tube-like more than oval or rounded. This may be to enhance the soundstage of the headphone. Never the less, they became slightly uncomfortable after long periods of use the first time I put them on. I have weird ears because after the third time or so, they were just fine. The cable is flat and it looks a bit thin but I’m guessing this is to keep it from weighing the headphones down. I owned a pair of Diddy Beats when they were out and that cable seemed thicker and sturdier by comparison but I digress (that's where that coparison ends). There is a piece where the two earpieces split and that is also plastic and it doesn’t scream premium but again, probably to keep the weight down. They also have an inline microphone with iPhone controls. The buttons are a little stiff but work well; side note: the volume up and volume down will not work with Android. At the end of the cable is there is an L-shaped plug to help with durability, so if it gets pulled, there isn’t as much bend. I don’t know how well this part will hold up honestly. The sound quality from these things is wonderful. It takes a little while to get adjusted but once you hear them after a day or two, the sound comes alive. They are much more open than any other in-ear headphone I’ve used, these are unique. The low end is very clear, no distortion at all; it is very well rounded and full. That is not to say that is overwhelming either; it’s just right. The mids are clear and vocals sound natural with any genre. The highs are also very clear, although a little bright at first; this either goes away or you get adjusted, but they sound great after a few of uses. I listen to all kinds of music, Hip-Hop, Latin, Jazz, Pop, Country, International music, etc… and I must say that the HP20s can certainly liven up any of these types of music. I was debating between these and the B&W C5s, I decided to give these a try because of the Room Feel technology, maybe that’s what’s working here because the sound if definitely different. You do feel the openness of the sound and a wider soundstage, although nothing like a set of over-the-ear headphones. Sound wise, these headphones are a winner and a definite keeper.

Less physical size than multi-driver Shure or Westone ear buds, but sound just as good. Considering they also cost hundreds less than previous mentioned, you couldn't find a better bargain for audiophile headphones. Great job NAD !!
