My husband is very picky about getting realistic sound out of head phones. He loved these!

Though I didn't purchase them at BB when they became available because BB did not have them in my area to listen to them, I found them near to me in the KSA in a Audiophile local shop in Khobar. I Compared them with Some nice Grados [SR 325e] which was same price range that was available. The Paul Barton "Room Feel" tech on the HP50's definitely makes a difference in soundstage to me compared to the Grados but the Grados have an excellent stage regardless. I only had Cd quality music to compare as I didn't have the HI Res DAP to compare with at the time. But the more I listen to the HP50's the more I cater to its unique sound. It has a flat response on the entire frequency spectrum to me [So those who love heavy hitting ridiculous bass that isn't defined you will not like these] and I think this really adds to the detail when I was listening to Jennifer Warnes tracks repeatedly. I will eventually settle on a pair of Grado's since there sound is incredible in there own style but my goal when getting them is for home use and it would be the RS2e's which our out of the price range in this comparison and a much nicer pair in comfort /sound/quality.
I use these mainly for travel to and from Saudi Arabia back to the USA. I can listen to the HP50's for hours at a time. I've read for some that the cup and band is uncomfortable because of pressure and the quality build is noticeable when listening to music when they shift.one comment I read was... * they feel cheap and can hear the movement of the plastic frame which is a major downer*.... I didn't hear any of that in listening to any genre of music that I have so maybe its dependent on how good your hearing is ?? . I would highly recommend these for there unique "room feel" tech and the sound definitely is noticeable. Good Job NAD & Paul Barton....once again you and the sound engineer /designer came up with a great piece of audio equipment at a great price!
