After hours and hours of research, I chose the Soundwafe Pro because of the rave reviews about sound quality and unmatched support. While I can attest it does indeed sound good, my experience with customer support is not impressive. I have the Nak connected to a new LG OLED using hdmi on the ARC port. I can control the volume and the unit turns off with the tv remote, but when turning on the tv, the Nak does not turn on. I've tried everything possible with the CEC settings and it simply won't work. I've sent two emails to the Nakamichi help desk with only a canned reply that a technician had been assigned to my case. Having to use the remote to turn the thing on is unacceptable to me and I'll be returning it. Very disappointing! I really wanted this sound bar. Thank goodness Best Buy has such a great return policy!

I did not want wires and the thought of setting up my old surround sound with the bigger speakers made me shutter. I shopped for sound bar solutions and tried the Klipsch first. Sounded awesome, but didn't have surround sound. Tried Vizio and it sounded good, but seemed that the surround didn't sound right to me. So I tried this Nakamichi and absolutely love the smooth highs, stable mid range and enveloping bass that really connects me with the movies I watch and music I listen to. Setup was super easy! I updated the firmware which is easy to do by following the online directions. If you need help, contact Nakamichi and they will be assuring that you are happy with the their product. Has a nice wide soundstage and works great with my new Sony tv! Give it a shot!!!

Subwoofer oozes out plenty of bass, great surround sound when you watch movies or play video games. Took off a star due to confusing display which only shows white dots.

This was my second soundbar purchase. I went with the VIZIO - SmartCast™ 5.1-Channel Soundbar System with 6" Wireless Subwoofer the first round and the subwoofer was just too loud and you cannot turn it down. That and the wireless surround sound speakers kept disconnecting. My living room is fairly small so the sub can overpower it. I love the Nakamichi so far. The sound is clear and fantastic. The sub can be adjusted down and even on level 1 it makes movies sound great with the surround sound. If I had to pick a few flaws the speaker bar is a tad tall. My Samsung TV sits on a console not mounted and the soundbar comes above the base of it but it looks fine. I haven't been able to figure out how to make my smart TV remote connect with this soundbar so for now I have 2 remotes. One for the speakers and one for my TV. Otherwise this is worth the money. Great sound and look. Easy set up.

This is an excellent surround sound system for the money! In my opinion, the slight negative reviews for this product are very nit picky. The sound quality is EXCELLENT! The 7.1 does show its’ true colors. You can hear sounds projected to the sides from the sound bar to create a solid movie experience. Excellent for sports as well. The bass is dialed in and perfectly punchy with quality depth, without distortion. For $500, this surround sound packs a ridiculously awesome punch. By far, the most bang for your buck in this price range...no doubt!

The sound is very good for a soundbar. The only complaint I have is that it does not have an on screen display for the remote. Very hard to tell volume level, the base, treble, sound mode settings. Given this drawback, I would still suggest buying this system.

Honestly overall this was a good sound bar, It does has good sound,it’s does have a very good bass, could be stronger On midrange I wished that the rear speakers are wireless.
The remote control could. Be better you actually have to point straight to the device a close distance to make it work ( even with new batteries) Other than that is cool no complaints for $500.00.

Nakamichi pro 7.1 had amazing sound and clear, I had trouble with the remote and sub, Troubles is that take 4-5 minutes of pressing the button to mute or turning the volume up and down. Lately I had experience the sub had high pitch sound that I have to unplug it and reset.

I had a soundbar. I didn't want another one. The Nakamichi convinced me to try, and I'm thrilled! The sound is great. The volume will rock the house if you want. It's compact and well-designed. I'm a musician and a recording engineer, so I'm pretty picky. This little beauty delivers what it promises.

Many options and setting to play with to adjust to your liking. Everyone who comes over feels like they are at a movie theater.. only down side is the bluetooth range.. the device connected through bluetooth needs to be very close in order for the best sound quality, other wise you would get static through interference from cellphones and other devices in the house.

This is probably not the best system available out there but definitely very nice for the $$$. Easy to set up and use. Doesn't require a PHd to hook up and optimally set it up. I would definitely buy another one !!!

I got this after reading great reviews about the product. I kept it for 2 weeks just because the sound was good but unfortunately had to return it. Below or the cons that were the deciding factors for return of this product:
Cons
1) No Dolby Digital Plus decoding via HDMI. I had this connected to nVidia Shield TV via HDMI IN and the sound output was 2 channel from all the speakers. Shield only does DD+ via HDMI as there is no optical port nor any option to output a DD AC3 Signal.
2) The soundbar transmits on 5.8Ghz frequency to the subwoofer which literally jammed every internet device operating at that frequency in the room. The download speeds went from 65Mbps to 0.09Mbps every time the soundbar was turned on. This affected my nVidia Shield, Xbox One, iPad etc. I had to switch them to 2.4Ghz in order to get any internet bandwidth. All internet devices were connected to the Google OnHub.
3) Remote is clunky and have to be directly aimed at the soundbar in order for it to work.
4) No digital display on the soundbar which makes interpreting the 8 small white LEDs that are so close together on the soundbar as morse code.
5) No on screen display/menu either
Pros
1) Great sound quality
2) Very little sound distortion and no lag
3) Great looking subwoofer and build quality
4) 2 X HDMI Inputs, 1 X ARC HDMI Output, 1 X Optical, 1 X Coax, Bluetooth
5) Only 7.1 Surround Soundbar System on the market
6) Great customer support
If you can look past all the cons on this product, this is one great product.. I hope nakamichi can resolve all the issues on the next model.
