Purchased this based on past reviews for our spare bedroom that we turned into an office/media room. As soon as we installed it and played it for the first time it sounded like the music was playing out of a tin can. That was through blue tooth. Once we hooked up our Apple TV and played a movie and music through the pole tv it got a little better but then the sound kept cutting out. It was intermittent and for no reason. Checked all cables and everything was hooked up correct. After researching it we found out there is a known issue with having to jump through hoops to reset it, unplug this for 5 mins, go into 20+ setting on both the TV and Apple TV to try and get the sound bar to not cut out. This was through EARC which is the best sound quality. After spending 5 hours of this I packaged it back up and it went back to the store. We got the Sonos Arc Ultra with sub and rears instead which was user friendly, no crazy settings, and the sound quality was 5000% better than the Shockwave. So weird because the Shockwaves 2 10s seemed to struggle when on the Sonos a single box with two 6x9s put out way clearer and stronger base. I would never recommend this sound bar system to anyone.

While this system was in my price range, the two 10 inch subwoofers don’t seem to produce the depth and richness I had hope for. It’s an average performing sound system, easy to set up, and adequate for most home uses.

Soundbar and surround speakers are ok, very loud. Both subwoofers rattle and underpowered for 300 watts each, my 10 inch 300 watt JBL single subwoofer is better. Im returning this.

the Nakamichi SHOCKWAFE ULTRA 9.2 SSE MAX stands as an impressive sound system delivering an immersive audio experience. Boasting a 9.2-channel setup with dual subwoofers, this soundbar system is designed to bring cinema-quality sound into your living room.
The standout feature of the SHOCKWAFE ULTRA 9.2 SSE MAX is its Spatial Surround Elevation (SSE) technology, which aims to create a three-dimensional audio experience. With multiple speakers placed throughout the room, it achieves a sense of depth and directionality, enhancing the realism of sound effects and positional audio in movies, shows, and games.
The inclusion of two subwoofers significantly enhances the system's bass response, adding depth and richness to low-frequency sounds, making action scenes and music more dynamic and powerful.
In terms of connectivity, it offers multiple options, including HDMI ARC/eARC, Bluetooth, and optical inputs, ensuring compatibility with various devices. The system also supports 4K HDR passthrough, enabling seamless integration with modern home entertainment setups.
Setup and installation can be straightforward due to its user-friendly interface and included mounting hardware. The system comes with a remote control for convenient adjustments and offers compatibility with some virtual assistants for voice control.
However, while the Nakamichi SHOCKWAFE ULTRA 9.2 SSE MAX delivers an impressive audio experience, it might not be suitable for smaller spaces due to its size and the need for multiple speakers placement to achieve its full potential. Additionally, as with many high-end sound systems, the price point might be a consideration for some buyers.
Overall, if you're seeking a home theater experience that brings a cinematic feel to your space, with powerful bass and immersive surround sound, the Nakamichi SHOCKWAFE ULTRA 9.2 SSE MAX could be an excellent choice, especially for larger rooms where its spatial audio capabilities can truly shine.

Nope. Don’t waste your time. They need to really rethink their strategy. It’s an 80’s brand that’s really dead. 1300watts is great but it really needs a designer. Sound and product. A. It’s ugly. B. It doesn’t work properly. Music and voice is very flat. I loved the remote, fk apple and it’s simple bs that everyone is trying to emulate, but it doesn’t sound right. Music is terrible and so is voice. It’s very specific to movies. Which is great if you want only that, but most people looking for a sound bar solution want a overall solution. Don’t get me wrong, dual subs, 1300watts, earc, and the other bells and whistles is great- but they need to work and look nice. Its 2022. Incest in a product designer and also, most importantly- it needs to work! This didn’t work. I put classical and hip hop; it sounded like sht.

Poor audio sound from this system. Doesn’t mix audio well from apple tv. Sounds fair with a stand alone disc player. Center is very harsh. Bass is not like described. Doesn’t get deep.

It needs a better hbmi cable. If you don't purchase a high quality cable the sound can crunchy. With such a high quality system im disappointed they didn't think of this detail

Sounds as good as a 200 system / sound bar , measured amperage from wall , does not pull nearly the wattage it claims , for music it is terrible no 2 ch stereo mode , but i will say for movies is it is great , however i personally have a sony system for 250 that is better or as good for immersive sound , for the 2k or 1500 , you can easily purchase a nice reciever and seperate speakers with dolby atmos and have far better quailty , i returned my system and did just that , yamaha reciever and klipsch floor standing dolby atmos for the same total price , sounds way better for music AND movies. Dont waste your time. The actual value of this would be great at arpund 250 to 400 on the high end .
