Lush verdant landscapes; gritty on point acting.

If the version that I saw was complete, and if the intent was to imply scenes of fright through audible cues and sharp camera cutaways, then I suppose that the film is a winner. The countrysides and woods scenes, along with viable performances by all participants, help to make this a very respectable film. However, I noted editing with regard to language at the very least, and the film was supposed to be unedited. Therefor I must assume that there may also be scenes of further fright, to be connected with the screams and other audible cues. To me, these cues imply special effects gags that are never realized. I caught it on a dish, where one is often misled by ratings and descriptions that do not apply to the versions that are aired. I'm really on the edge regarding a purchase as I would be very disappointed to only gain some filthy language. Very very worthy of a viewing off of a satellite dish, but don't buy into the claim that the film is not edited. Still, a very respectable film, and apart from screams and sound effects, the version that I saw was suitable for a well grounded teen...PG-13. Also I suppose for fans who are easily frightened, this exceeds expectation. I am not one of those persons, but after reading the reviews of Sinister, I can tell that many many viewers appear to be just that.
