KISS set the standard for bands to look up to and judge themselves by when giving their fans the best concert experience possible and those who think the makeup, costumes and stage show are the only reason KISS has lasted 40 years need to realize, you can fool some of the fans some of the time, but you can't fool all of the fans all of the time! Kiss 40 is a great representation of 40 years worth of music. The double disc set is comprised of 1 track from every album, mixed with some unreleased tracks and a few rarities. The booklet is printed on coated, heavy stock paper and the sound quality is good. While it is hard to represent a 40 year career over 2 discs, this is a good representation and not just a greatest hits package. I would have opted for studio versions and left the demos for a different project as it seems to weaken the flow of the album, but collectors will enjoy them just the same. Overall, it is a great retrospective.

If you are a Kiss fan/collector this new release is a must own. Following their over due induction into the Rock ,'n' Roll Hall of Fame, Kiss has once again went into the vault to release material previously unavailable for public consumption. If you witnessed Tom Morello's induction speech welcoming Kiss in to the Hall of Fame it is a no brainer that by purchasing this new release you will own another portion of KISSTORY! You wanted the best, you got the best, the hottest band in the world! KISS

This a really great collection of KISS hits and rarities. The demos of God of Thunder and Bad Reputation are worth the price of admission alone. The unreleased live songs are also awesome. This beats other collections by far and would be an excellent introduction to new KISS fans. I've loved KISS since I first saw the Hotter Than Hell album cover decades ago. And unlike some people, I've embraced every version of the band. Like they say, YOU WANTED THE BEST YOU GOT THE BEST!

I bought this album so I can get rid of their entire back catalog of music. This two disc set is a great summary of their 40 year career. 1 track off of each album along with some unreleased live tracks and rarities. From the self-titled album to their recent studio album Monster. This'll probably be the last KISS album I'll ever purchase.

What a great time travel. I know all this stuff but don't get to listen to a lot of it these day. The booklet was great. However someone still keeps messing up the writing credits all these year later. See I Love It Loud and Christine Sixteen.

A great compilation. Better than most of the others that have been released. Most will moan and groan and say not another compilation, but this is not KISS that is putting it out. It is the record label. As a rabid KISS fan for 38 years, this a nice one to add to the collection. Of course, I have them all.

Only couple of complaints of this excellent selection of material from the iconic now hall of famers KISS. Edited versions of "I was made for loving you" and "Jungle". The latter a truly underrated Kiss gem. Biggest complaint no "DOMINO"

Was very pleased by all the music on this 2-cd Disc. It covers all the way back to the beginning and up to their latest album and also a lot of Live tracks as well. Over all a great album to have for any Kiss fan.

This CD was given as a gift for Christmas to a resident that is in a care home, and always has loved KISS. He is very pleased and happy to listen to it. It made his day!

Purchased this cd to play the music at a memorial for a kid who loved the band. Didn't think I would like it as much as I did, great cd

Kollection of KISS tunes for the past 40 years as well as some that have not been heard before. If you are KISS die-hard, you are going to want this.

after a lot of compilations, this is the one what contents the best from every cd from the begining to the last one.

The concept of the compilation was promising, one song from each of official releases along with live versions of other songs. The execution isn't all it could be as with a band as prolific as KISS you can't include each of their hits. Some of the albums probably didn't deserve to have a song included, other albums should have had multiple songs. If someone is looking for an introduction to KISS they should try one of the Greatest Hits albums.

A must cd for any kiss fan it has 40 songs, including some live stuff and demo songs.

Has some of the greatest hits, and some songs I've never heard on a 1 - 10 scale maybe a 6
