These work amazing with my homepods and are very nice to be able to change brightness and color for various moods and settings. Wish there were more color options

Work great with my HomeKit! Love the way they look in above head lamps. Easy to control using Home app, Nanoleaf app, and Siri. Extremely responsive. Definitely will be buying more from Nanoleaf in the near future.

Great matter enabled multicolor bulbs. The bulbs have been solid, since I corrected the issues with my wireless network. I've only had them a few weeks, but so far they just work. I have them installed outside lighting my the entry ways to my garage area and although it's not been extreme temp changes lately, they have seen some cold nights and haven't missed a beat.

Adding to the Google home is a bit convoluted. In ordered to be automatically picked up by the app the bulb needs to be switched on first. You then need to scan the matter qr code on the bulb or the sticker in the package. Found it simpler to do a few more clicks to directly scan the code first and then plug it in. But it still is a huge improvement from adding to the maker's app then add it to the Google home. It's a pity more manufacturers are not supporting matter.
Thank you for this wonderful feedback! We are really happy to know that you are finding the Essentials Matter Bulbs easy to install with the integration with Google, and that the updated technology in the Bulbs also works for you. We appreciate that you are enjoying your Nanoleaf Lights and we hope you continue to do so!

I use homekit, so the set up is so easy. Have had others for several years and never had issues. With thread, their response has gotten much faster, although their response time before wasnt that slow anyways

They worked well with apple HomeKit, but when trying to use it with other matter hubs I could not get them to connect with to both simultaneously. I ended up returning. If you just have one platform these should work very well.

Works well most of the time. Sometime unresponsive and gives the wrong colors. Frustrating when it happens at night.

Very good lights. I'm using them in an Apple HomeKit set up. It is very nice to not need a bridge and that they use the Matter and Thread protocol for fast responsiveness without bogging down my WiFi network. However, they do not get very bright and do not have as wide a range of colors as some other bulbs. They're good or even great bulbs, but not the best.

These were very buggy compared to my rock solid Philips Hue lights when I purchased them May 2023. However over time (updates to Matter/Thread + firmware) they have become extremely stable. They are just as reliable if not better than my ZigBee Philips Hue bulbs. I bought these as a tech enthusiast wanting to try out thread radio and they are now ready for the masses. Especially with new iPhones coming with thread radios these should be easy to control for everyone in the future.
These are now my preferred bulbs especially for the value.

Bought these lights thinking they were affordable smart lights- Turns out they were neither.
First, you need to have a “thread border router” device such as Apple TV or Google Home to even begin connecting them, so if you don’t have one already these are no longer affordable.
As for the “smart” portion- These are the dumbest “smart” lights I’ve ever purchased. They never stay connected. Reconnecting them has taken hours each time.
I have numerous other smart lights in my home that do not need a thread border router and do not disconnect on a regular basis.
As I’m well beyond the return period, I did what any rational person would do with these lights. Took them to the backyard and smashed them to make room for smart lights that actually work.
Never buying another Nanoleaf product, or any “matter enabled device” ever again. It all sucks.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Essentials Matter A19 Smart Bulb. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that the setup and connectivity were such a hassle, especially with needing a Thread border router—if that wasn’t clear up front, we know it must’ve been disappointing. The time spent reconnecting is frustrating, and we understand why it’s caused frustration with Matter-enabled devices. Your feedback gives us a chance to improve, and we’ll definitely keep it in mind as we work to make our products better. Thanks again for sharing your experience; we’re here if you have further thoughts or need any support.

At my fault, I didn’t know that you needed a home hub (Apple 4k tv or Apple pod) to work with siri.
Product was easy to install and setup.

This bulb should be great. Many Nanoleaf products are, but this one falls short. Its supposed to be a Matter bulb, but that part doesn’t work, meaning you can’t connect it to HomeKit. Only to the Nanoleaf App (which isn’t a good app). I will give it credit for the colors and brightness, but the broken connectivity (at least on the bulb I recieved) makes this not work for my needs, so I can’t give it a good review
