Our new Norwal Freo Z Ultra Robot vacuum has saved me countless hours cleaning our condo floors! This particular model not only vacuums but also mops & can be set to clean in a variety of vacuum/mop combinations. It even goes under our king size bed to clean that difficult-to-reach surface! I vacuum our area rug first to help prevent fuzz complicating the robot’s action, and I do have to get things off the floor prior to cleaning, but I had to do those things anyway when I was cleaning the floors myself. This device maps the whole area on the very first use, then after that it efficiently & effectively vacuums & mops our vinyl plank floors without me having to lift a finger! It has a camera & a light to help it avoid bumping into furniture, and it will go back over areas that need extra cleaning. I usually set it to clean while we’re golfing, so when we return, the whole condo looks great! The Narwal app on my phone not only allows me to control the cleaning process, but also lets me keep an eye on the progress. The unit requires some assembly, but the instructions are clear and easy to follow. We ended up moving it from the original spot we had chosen for it so it would have better entry/exit access, but it fits in unobtrusively with our decor. I have not had to replace the mopping pads or vacuum bag yet, but the instructions are clear for those tasks, too. We have named our robot “Rocky” in honor of the excellent cleaning person we had at our former residence. It is such a relief not to have to clean floors again! I recommend this product without reservation.

I've had a Roomba for a long time and it did a decent job, but this Narwal Freo Z is just amazing how much better it can do a job. Just the fact that it can empty itself when full is a great benefit from what I had before. The unit is very quiet in comparison and not disturbing. It avoids obstacles automatically (finally some smarts). If you're in the habit to leave a mess, you might run into issues occasionally. Love that I can map the house, set areas and command to vacuum those specific locations when I want to. I have a small kitchen, but it mops really well too. If it detects that the floor is really dirty, it will go back home clean the mop and go back to clean again. You might think that looking at the pictures feels like a cheap unit, but it's not. Very good quality construction and well thought out. You have options for different floor types so you can get a detergent and floor finish cleaner. The app has been reliable as well and mapping the home takes less than 10mins. It does allow you to add a additional maps so that if you move it upstairs, let's say, it can keep both maps. This is one of my best purchases and I definitely recommend it. It doesn't integrate with Home Assistant yet, but hope it will in the near future.

So far we love it, however set up was difficult. We are in our 60’s.with that said, we are fully capable of reading directions, etc. but the instructions were beyond small. Taking a screenshot and zooming was a pain. Would love a book with just English. Mapping didn’t go well. Could not get app to work on my phone, only on IPad.-so frustrating. A remote would be great. If we had a rep to help with mapping etc. it’d be perfect. I’m not giving up-we’ll figure it out eventually. Feel like I’m jumping through hoops or everything, including the extended warranty paperwork to fill out.

The Narwal Z performed better than expected. Battery life is great, seeing how it has to do 2,400 sq ft of hardwood floor. Just wish the water tank were bigger. Have to refill it halfway through. Still an excellent purchase.

Narwal is a relatively new brand but the technology of the Freo Z Ultra is quite amazing. I believe this robot vac is the best on the market for the price and what it delivers. Yes, there are a few quirks you need to get familiar with but once you do the robot is spectacular. One of the few that actually works with Siri. I have had this robot vac for about a month now and can tell you it has not got stuck and I use it just about every day. The nav and obstacle avoidance is truly class leading - I believe better than roborock, eufy, ecovacs, etc. I don't need to pre-pick up anymore. Mopping is excellent. Yes it uses a lot of water but that is mostly to clean your mops which it does very well. Brush never tangles. You may need to clean out the dustbin from time to time when the robot is vacuuming if you have dogs that shed a lot just to maintain the suction. Narwal needs to add an option in the app for the robot to go back to the base station when the dust bin is filled with hair and empty. this is really my only negative. I have owned ecovacs and eufy and can tell you this one will far exceed your expectations. get it on sale you won't be disappointed.

Upgraded to this from a Ecovacs. This machine is absolutely awesome! I have dogs inside my home and the brush never gets tangled. Self cleans, mapping is easy. Rarely gets spinners tangled with cords or anything else. 1 month with it and I’m very satisfied.

Good device and clean well - easy to install and like the scheduled time

I am an avid tech guy and have had many flagship vacuums like the Eufy S1 Pro and Roborock S7 MaxV in the past and currently. I was hesitant to try Narwal since its a newcomer. Setup was not difficult. Updated firmware. Filled up the water. Got going on the mapping, which took a while. I love settings and it was a blast going through all the options and behaviors it has which i think they do a good job at explaining. I then start a clean and it says there isnt water in the tank. It gave instructions what to check so i did. It would still not pump water out and gave error messages. So i decided to just do a regular vacuum mode with freo mode on. It just started roaming around the house, bouncing off things. So i canceled it and told it to clean a room without freo mode on. At first it seemed like it had no idea what it was doing, bouncing into thing. Then it did start cleaning. The cleaning path was not logical and left areas uncleaned. Ive never seen a robot vacuum act this erratic. I moved the robot and setup the map again. Behavior did not change. This vacuum had the potential to be a significant player against its competition, but it is simply not ready. Do not buy

The Narwal Freo Z Ultra does a good job mopping. Vacuuming was just ok. My main issues were with the iOS app and privacy around data uploads. The iOS app currently has a significant bug where it drains your device battery heavily (80% of my battery before I realized in one case) when the app is open or in the background. Other people mentioned seeing the same issue on forums and Reddit. Also the robot uploaded gigabytes of data to Narwal servers. For the two weeks I had the robot, over 25 GBs were uploaded somewhere. That’s a huge amount of data. Narwal support, while responsive, had no explanations for the behavior. I have huge privacy concerns and Narwal doesn’t have any explanation, that I can find, for what is done with that data.

Terrible. Doesnt work well. Leaves stains everywhere even on the meticulous setting. Got it for my mother since she can no longer physically do it. I have spent more hours a week trying to get it to work than it would take for me to just sweep and mop . Such a waste of money.

It gets everything spotless. Plus, it’s super quiet, so you barely even notice it running.
