The newer steelbook bluray version is a noticeable visual improvement over the prior bluray version, especially when viewed on a larger screen. The DTS 2.0 soundtrack is also an improvement over the previous 2.0 bluray soundtrack. Always a family favorite at Christmas time.

I don't know what else I can say about Christmas Vacation. If you're looking at buying this movie, then chances are, you consider it a funny Christmas classic, just like our family. We don't buy a lot of DVD's or Blu-rays anymore, but this is one movie we wanted to have so we could watch it every year. Although we stream most of our television content these days, this movie isn't always on Hulu, Netflix, or the other services we have when Christmastime comes. Other than it being a classic, the steel case is nice, but we only bought that because it was the only option available at the time. I wouldn't go out of my way to get the collectible case - we just wanted the movie.
