I love Nicholas Cage and he didnt disappoint in this fun, adventurous Disney movie. A definite must own for any movie collector!

Interesting fun and entertaining film to watch. Loved how the different characters interacted on this light suspense concept of finding a long hidden treasure by stealing the original Constitution document in order to lead these treasure seekers to the next clue and then to the next clue.

Yep - it's got everything you want in a movie. Great action, a beautiful girl, chase scenes, danger and even some american history.

One of Nicholas Cage's better movies and roles. Hoping there's a third movie coming eventually.

This is a fun movie; it is very much like one of the Disney rides. The producers did a lot of research on both the pre-Revolutionary War period and after; as well as the stories about the Knights Templar treasure. It is obvious that both the cast and crew had fun while making the film. It works because the cast takes their roles seriously; this helps make the whole movie work. Many of the little gimmicks(such as the glasses "made by Ben Franklin") work as the framers did have interests in these sort of things. Did they actually create a "treasure chamber"? No, of course they didn't. The movie also works as it is a mix of the conspiracy, treasure, and history genres; and, again, the producers did a great job of combining them(using a lot of humor in the mix as well). One thing that I would have liked as a special/bonus feature is a trivia track(or two) to run with the movie to help explain where they digress from fact to fiction, what discovery(ies) by the various framer(s) helped inspire the movie's gimmicks, etc.. This is minor, but, would have been fun. This is a good movie; lots of fun, some real historical info is in there(you have to dig them out; but, that is part of the fun.), and, it is fine for the whole family; without it having the feel of a "just for the kids" film. I can recommend it highly.

Not that historically accurate but a few interesting facts mixed in with fiction that was entertaining.

National treasure was the start of Nicolas Cage's best movie series. He also had Diane Kruger probably one of the hottest women on the planet. If anybody remembers her in the movie Troy what's a lando Bloom Bill understand what I'm saying. You also have a great actor Harvey Keitel playing of all things a US government agent. The whole thing behind national treasure is what if. What if treasures down through time were collected and made into one giant treasure trove anything and everything is possible what is the idea of finding the clues to find it. Nicolas Cage plays Benjamin Franklin Gates. His great great grandfather is the one who finds the first clue it's passed down to him by his employer. The secret lies with Charlotte. That begins a mystery in history in which the Gates family is a huge part of. This movie is a must have if you love a good mystery movie and great action.

It is a great movie to buy! I would recommend this movie to people who like suspense!

Nicolas Cage stars as a member of the Gates family that has basically had a secret in the family line for decades. Now, Benjamin must take action to see whether the actual treasure exists or not. With the help of others, his soon to be girlfriend played by Diane Kruger, a tech savvy friend named Riley, and his father, he sets out for the ultimate prize hidden for generations. On his tail however are former partners that now want it all instead of sharing the discovery. This is a well made action adventure movie that has good action and mystery. I really liked this one. Highly recommend it. The Blu-ray looks and sounds amazing on the 4K TV and player.

This film is great for the whole family to watch, at lot of excitement and mystery.

Entertaining and fun movie. Good job by Nicolas Cage and Diane Kruger. Video quality on DVD is okay, maybe a bit soft. Overall, glad to add this movie to my collection.

National Treasure offers a bit of adventure and intrigue. The concept of being able to decipher, through word play and hints, the location of historical treasure is fun! The plot was clear, as it was the search for a treasure from centuries, protected by an elite group initially. The fun is in the discovery of various clues, on the stem of a pipe, the back of an historical document, the thwarting of criminals also on the trail, and the final discovery. The actors all played their roles extremely well, and were very fun to watch and listen to. The added fun comes in an added Riley's game, which anyone can play.

This movie is a treasure itself. The soundtrack wonderfully contributes to the emotion, action, and feel of each intricately acted scene. The characters, the complex key of every movie, are genuine in a subtle aspect. American history has always been an admiration, which is drawn in a new way through this film.

Watched many years ago on DVD. Blu Ray makes it much better by letting me see details I missed before which adds to the story. Hopeful for 3rd in series to come out soon. In the mean time this was very entertaining again. Excellent value. I suggest buying both.

The movie is fun, even if some of the tech used in the film has not aged well. I use this in my Social Studies class on half days or testing days to show something that the kids will enjoy, but it also gives them some bits of American history to boot. Outside of all that, it is always good to see Nicholas Cage with some quirky lines to deliver.

I think that "National Treasure" was once again one of the greatest Disney films of all-time and it was also one of my many favorite Disney films of all-time. I also think that this film had a lot of entertaining and enjoyable action, mystery, suspense and drama including a really great and amazing cast and storylines as well.

As far as the movie "National Treasure" goes, it's fine, but the main reason I purchased this was to upgrade from my old DVD of the film to a Blu-ray version. It seems to be one of the earlier Disney Blu-ray releases, so the menu layout and overall quality isn't as great as you'll find today (especially on 4K discs), but it's perfectly acceptable if you can find the movie for a good price--and usually, Best Buy has it for a good price!

This is such an underrated movie. Yeah sure he makes some crazy movies, and some are just moments in movie history. This is one of them. I like a lill fictional historical adventures. Ans Nick delivers that performance so well.
