Great Bike. Just a few nitpicks

We've had this bike for about a week so still learning to use it. It's not perfect but nothing ever. Overall we really like it so far. The only hiccup was a missing part. Customer support was very nice but informed me it was gong to take six weeks for them to get the part to us. It was a cosmetic piece so we can use the bike but six weeks to replace a part someone forgot to put in the box?
PROS
--------
-The price is great
-Solid construction
-Built in speakers
-Comfortable seat
-The Explore the World app synch easily and gives you six free courses with beautiful scenery
- Very Quiet
- Smooth operation
CONS
---------
-USB port charges a phone but not enough amps to charge an iPad
-The bike has bluetooth out but not in so the built in speakers are not bluetooth capable
-The USB charging port does not support audio so you need to use two cords if you want to play audio and charge at the same time - minor but why?
-The seat is adjustable but slides forward very forcefully when unlocked. It takes a good amount of force to push it back up and lock it in place. Smaller people might have a little trouble with that. It really could use a spring or a piston to make adjustments easier and smoother.
- Unable to synch with apps like Zwift or Rouvy but might be able to if a cadence sensor is purchased separately and attached to the pedals
- The Explore the World app is nice but has very limited on screen info. Just distance and time but not cadence or resistance and the lower LCD screen that is still visible when an iPad is in the holder can not display cadence and resistance at the same time. They should fix one or the other.
- The seat back is hard plastic with a strong lumbar curve. This can be uncomfortable if its not a good fit for your shape and size. It would be great if they offered a mesh back as an option.
Overall its a great bike .The Cons I listed are mostly minor things and most of them are things they could fix pretty easily and inexpensively if they wanted to. The sliding seat is something that would require a bit of a redesign but they should look into that with the next upgrade because if you have multiple people using the bike and some are less muscular this could be annoying if not slightly hazardous.
Addendum: To up the experience I bought a thin 15.5" monitor for $140 on Amazon. I connected an Apple TV that we weren't using (but you can connect any streaming device Roku, Firestick) so we could stream free YouTube workout videos, YouTubeTV, Netflix, Apple Fitness+ workouts. Peloton even has an app and the subscription is only $12.95/mth. You can also stream the included Explore the World app from your phone to the Monitor this way. Its great to have so many options so everyone can use it the way the want and unlike Peloton and Nordictrack bikes that have a screen but lock you into their subscription service wiht no other option this set up lets you do anything you want.

Perfect! Husband and I needed a recumbent bike. Due to the pandemic we canceled our gym memberships. We now are working on getting an exercise room set up in our house. This recumbent bike adds a perfect cardio machine to our gym. It is easy to use, and delivery was nice, they placed the box in the room. Can’t go wrong with Best Buy!

Great Recumbent Bike; very easy to use and allows you to ease into higher performance levels. Numerous programs as well as WiFi and Heart monitor capability. Although not needed at the moment, works well for rehabilitation -- would have been useful previously. Love the fan and the cool down options. Have yet to use the many additional features. Sleek design that fits nicely into a multipurpose room.

I bought this so that so I could exercise not wearing tennis shoes or a bra or while wearing business casual clothes or while giving focus to my phone or tablet or handheld video game device. I wanted an option where I could force myself to exercise in an option where I could roll out of bed and park my butt in a chair when I was feeling anxious, depressed, lazy, or unmotivated to get dressed or leave the house. For these purposes the machine is fantastic. I wear flip flops and pajamas sometimes while pedaling. I will use it midday while wearing clothes appropriate for video work calls to get in some quick movement. I can still dial up the intensity if I do want more of a real intense workout and not just movement while sitting or something I can do to combat bouts of anxiety or depression. This box for this is large and heavy and I found it much easier to setup with another person. Once setup, I could wheel it around. You are able to turn off the beeping and it seems quiet enough on the second floor. The explore the world app is neat, albeit limited compared to other options. In hindsight, I do wish I had a machine with a giant iFit screen connection so it could give me access to workouts or more rides if I am going to go to all of the trouble to own a machine....but that also is double the price of this machine and requires a monthly subscription; YouTube on a tv next to this costs less. Quality seems okay so far—works similar to ones I have used infrequently at gyms. I feel it has given me another tool to incorporate regular movement throughout my day or something I can still do when I just don’t have time or mental capacity.

Exhaustive research-- well-pleased with my choice!

I have been enjoying my Nautilus R618 Recumbent Exercise Bike for a little over a month. After having done exhaustive research on recumbent exercise bikes, I am well-pleased with my decision to purchase this particular bike. It was delivered to my front door in a very heavy, large, narrow box which I was able to slide inside for unpacking. Everything inside the box was in pristine condition due to all components being encased in styrofoam blocks. I carefully unpacked all components and checked everything against the parts list located in the first few pages of the manual. All parts accounted for, I took them to the room where I planned to assemble the bike. I am a 70 year old female and I was able to assemble the bike by myself, needing a helper only to hold a component while I made the wiring connections to the control console. Assembly took about 2 hours. Once it was assembled it was quite easy to slide it into position for use. I connected the power cable, plugged it into a surge protector, and it powered right up.
Like most products you get today, the assembly instructions are scant on words and big on pictures. Just take your time and study the manual before you begin, making sure to look closely at the pictures. All tools required for assembly are included (4 mm and 6 mm hex wrenches and a screwdriver/wrench combination). You even get a few extra washers and bolts. You will need a utility knife or scissors to open the hardware packaging.
The bike has an easily-adjusted seat with levers that allow you to tilt the backrest, and to move the seat forward and backward to accommodate the length of your legs. The backlit console is very easy to read and to operate. Resistance can be increased or decreased by pressing the pads on the console, or on the seat handlebars.
You can enter your profile (name, age, weight, height, gender, preferred workout values). There is a quick start (non-automated) program, 12 different profile programs that automate different resistance and workout levels, custom program which allows you to set the resistance level for each interval and select type of goal to create a personalized workout, and finally, a cool down mode. You can track your heart rate using the included chest strap or the contacts located on the handlebars.
The only thing I would change is the location of the media tray. I like to watch virtual bike tours while I use the bike, but when I place my iPad on the tray, it blocks the upper display on the console. If you don't care about where you are in the program it will not matter to you. It is not a big thing, and I will eventually figure out a way around it.
The manual that comes with the bike does not go into real detail about all the features of this bike, but if you go online to www.nautilus.com/manuals you will find a more detailed operations manual that you can print for reference.
As I said at the start, I am very happy with this purchase -- from ordering, to delivery, to assembly, operation and performance. I think it is a good buy -- you get a lot for your money, and I recommend it.

The R618 is a wonderful piece of machinery. The pedaling mechanism is extremely smooth with highly adjustable magnetic resistance, the seat adjustment controls are solid, and the electronics are club quality. I'm very pleased with the purchase and predict it will last for many years to come! The reason I'm knocking it down to 4-stars is the quality of the phone / tablet apps. The app that is referenced in the included documentation doesn't exist any longer and its replacement has not scored well. I assume Nautilus is working on something new.

Bought this bike online for my wife who suffers from back pain but still needs some form of exercise. I had been following this item for some time and decided to purchase when I noticed the price had been reduced. I'm 78 years old and had no trouble assembling with some study of the instructions and diagrams. all mechanical and electronic features worked as advertised.

The Nautilus R618 was very easy to assemble and the instructions were very straight forward. I had read horror stories about the condition of the box and missing pieces but this bike was very well packaged and nothing was missing. In fact, there were extra bolts, washers, etc. The parts were shrink wrapped on a card identifying the part so it was very straightforward. I assembled the bike mostly by myself. The only assistance needed was mounting the handlebar and console which took an extra set of hands while connecting the electronics. I am extremely pleased with the quality of the bike. The seat is easily adjustable and quite comfortable. All in all it works exactly as advertised and is a perfect addition to our fitness equipment.

I am impressed with the overall quality of this bike. Assembly wasn't too bad...it took my husband 3-4 hours from start to finish. The bike feels nice and stable just like the bikes at fitness centers. The stabilizer bar on the rear has a handle on it and the stabilizer bar on the front has wheels which makes moving the bike very easy. The gel seat bottom is the most comfortable exercise bike seat I have sat on but the seat back tends to dig in to my shoulder blades. I do wish the power cord was longer (it is roughly 4-5 feet long) than it is so the bike could be placed further from an outlet without the use of an extension cord. I have only had the bike for a few weeks but overall I am very happy with it for the price.

This is a very nice recumbent bike. It was one of very few that had enough seat adjustment for me as I am 6’7” tall. It took about two hours to assemble which went pretty well. I had some difficulty learning how to use the 29 programs on the bike as the instruction manual I received didn’t explain how to set them up for use. However I did find a manual on Nautilus’ website that did describe this and now I can use them. I enjoy my workouts on this bike as it is comfortable and has some nice features. Good value overall!

The equipment is well built, and easy to set up the only problem I had was the lack of good clear instructions on how the consul works, but I went to the Nautilus web site and was able to get the info I needed, other than that I am very pleased with the bike and would recommend it to anyone

The bike is very quiet and easy to use by the two of us. I’ve called service to receive support and am waiting for the parts to come and the free service person to fix a pesky heart rate sensor.
The most significant issue I have with it isn’t repairable. Syncing the data from the console to my iPhone is not really supported as I was led to believe. If I use their app while riding then some of the data is stored on the phone.
I’ll also say that the console is pretty confusing and their documentation is fairly limited.

The Nautilus R618 was pretty easy to assemble, I did it by myself except for when I was attaching & plugging in the handlebar, I needed 3 hands! The parts were shrink wrapped on a card identifying the part so it was very straightforward. I am pleased with the quality of the bike. The seat is adjustable, forward and back in addition to the seat back recline angle. All in all it works exactly as advertised.
