I'm a novice to the series so I'm not sure how it plays on other systems. I chose because of the portability over other consoles. I like the game. Although it takes some time to master outside shooting as I still am not very good. Also this games takes up a lot of memory so be prepared.

Yes!! finally a 2k sports game on a a portable console that already has a great line of games for it. I ca't put this game down. Welcome to my neighborhood, as I redeem myself and make it to an NBA professional team. If you like 2K sports games and need a solid basketball game, this game hits nothing but net... SWISH!!!

But the grind is ridiculous along with the whole virtual currency things. I'd say more for the hardcore technical basketball lover that just wants to grind through games. Runs at 30fps and it completely playable.

It’s impressive that the switch can handle this much game, but it does a solid job. Now I can take my Celtics on the road!

Most reviewers have been bashing this version of the game. Wait, it's better on a pro console (duh!). Wait, not as many features on a portable version (duh!). I think at its core, its still the same game if you've previously been in to it.

NBA 2K is the best basketball franchise, period! And now with the entire game in the palm of your hands, all I have to say is, thank you 2K and thank you Nintendo. This game is amazing, and the graphics are close enough to ps4 and xbox one. Truly, I cannot ask for more.

Very good game in general but surprisingly better than I thought for the switch. Obviously graphics aren't the best but they are better than expected for any portable system. When I play it on the TV it looks like PS3 graphics. Overall it is a good game for the switch.

Honestly the best part is being able to play 2K18 on the go... The graphics don't come near PS4 or XBOX but gameplay on handheld switch or while docked are still nice. MEMORY CARD NEEDED FOR DOWNLOAD... and be prepared to wait @ least an HOUR for the game to download.

I just want to first say that my package arrived on time and in pristine condition. This is a great game! What I love most is that it is portable as well. I will highly recommend this to family and friends!

Let's get the positive stuff out in the open first, this is a great game. All the gameplay, on-court mechanics work like you'd expect...this is truly NBA 2k in your pocket, not your grampa's old iOS port touchscreen mess. In terms of graphics, the difference from the console version to the Switch version is minimal due to the much smaller screen. Things still look fairly sharp and acceptable. A few of the games details have of course been lost due to the difference in raw power of your everyday console, so don't expect to see the sweat dripping from your player's faces, but they made sure the drop in in-game graphics quality is hardly noticeable when your running up and down the court constantly. Now for the negatives: 1a. Requirement for an SD card. Yes it is on the game cover but forcing people to have to invest in additional storage to make up for poor game developer choices is bad form. They could have easily opted for a higher capacity switch game cartridge which could have housed the game, additional content and done away the "additional storage" requirement all together. If this was a way to increase their margins on the game, that would be just horrible. More on this storage debacle below. 1b. As soon as you launch the game, it asks you to download a whooping +16GB update file...for any switch owner that plans to do more than play 2K and not play any other game...this is fine, but if I was thinking "at least now I have extra storage for other games on my sd card too...you've got another thing coming...2K18 is here to make short work of your sd card's precious gigabytes. 1c. Game saves are gigantic 5GBs on a 32GB console? No wonder a microSD card is required. Seems like someone dropped the basket-"ball" (had to do it haha) during the development phase of this game and just didn't care about the efficiency of their game save system. Again, kiss that additional storage you thought you had for other games goodbye. 2. The need for the game to be always connected to the 2K servers practically cripples the game in terms of why people buy 2K games. It practically renders the MyCareer unplayable if you're on the go which is the Switch's main selling point, and don't even think of letting your Switch go into sleep mode in the middle of a game in your MyCareer, because guess what, now your game is over because the connection to the server is broken. Rather than just limit what you can do in MyCareer while you're in let's call it "Offline-mode" and allow you to continue with the core of what we've come to expect what MyCareer mode is, let alone let you finish an in-progress game, it decides that "Heyyy you probably don't want to play 2K anymore because you've taken 2 steps out of the vicinity of an available WiFi connection let me end that game for you.". Sure you can start a separate game for offline play, but guess what...that's another 5GB chunk out of your storage...again...man this game is a "ball hog" when it comes to storage, and is staring to seem like the needy partner in this relationship when it comes to having to be always connected. Like, bro sometimes I want to take a walk on my own outside and pretend like I'm playing basketball outside on my Nintendo Switch...is that too much to ask? So to sum up this a a true 2K basketball game, ruined only by its poor implementation and execution on the Switch, so buy this game at your own risk.

I was kind of skeptical I purchase in this game because of Nintendo's bloatware that they usually put on the video game systems but this one right here is a pure game I would recommend this game to anyone that love the great basketball simulation

2k18 is a welcome addition the the Nintendo library in terms of adding sports games. The game itself has it major issues due to the VC and online components. Online play struggles a bit, and there is a much smaller userbase of this version compared to other systems. the need to constantly connect to online causes hiccups considering it is a portable console. The ability to take MyGM/MyLeague on the go is very welcome though. Good basketball gameplay, but a learning curve if you haven't played 2k before patches are have been coming and fixed some problems but are slow out the gate.

NBA 2K18 is the best basketball game on consoles and now it is on the Nintendo Switch! The game looks great on the Switch! Framerate is locked to 30fps but still plays great! If you want your basketball game on the go...this is it!

The graphic is very great in this game. But however, it is a bit difficult to play. Or May be I'm not used to it yet. I will upgrade my comment in a few weeks once I get a bit dipper into it.

This game, unlike WWE, is a great port and looks and performs amazingly on the Switch. I absolutely recommend it if you like the 2k NBA games and would like to give them a try on the go.

Good game for Switch, but trying to build your created character and level him up takes forever. If you just want to pick up and play a couple games you can't go wrong with this one.

This game has exceeded my expectations for a sports game on the Nintendo switch. Its gameplay is comparable to that of its fellow competitors XBOX and Playstation NBA 2k version. The gameplay is smooth, controls work and respond great! As a avid sports fan I was very impressed with just how good it plays on the switch. the only down fall is the about 20gb of space you need to DL all its content but its so worth it. If you enjoy NBA 2K series and want a portable version this is a great option.

My son loved this game. Great graphics and endless hours of play both on and offline. It is everything that he hoped it would be. He watched several youtube videos on this game and it did not disappoint.
