I was super excited to find this Disney x kidrobot Mickey Mouse figure when I was perusing the clearance section of the Best Buy website. kidrobot is one of the premier collectible toy figure producers, and this collaboration was to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Disney. It originally sold for $50, it was on clearance for $19.99, and I had a coupon that brought the price down to $16 and change, plus free shipping. While I didn’t really need this figure, it was too good of a deal to pass up. The delivery part went well, it arrived when it was supposed to and the box it came in looked like it had been treated well, with no obvious dents or other red flags. So I was pretty confused and disappointed when I pulled the toy box out of its packaging. As you can see from the pictures, Mickey’s arm was completely severed from the rest of his body. I was confused because the box didn’t appear to have been opened, and there was no sign of damage on the box containing Mickey that would have caused his arm to break off. There was also a weird section of cardboard packaging inside the Mickey box that didn’t appear to be part of the box or the toy, and it just looked like it came from some other product’s packaging. The whole situation was just odd. I debated whether or not to return it and ask for a replacement, but I wasn’t sure if there would be any others to replace it with, and I didn’t want a refund on such a good deal. Thankfully, the arm break happened right where it meets the body and under Mickey’s chin. So I took super glue and glued his arm back on, and even if you examined it closely you wouldn’t be able to tell the it was initially broken. I have to say though, this is not a toy for children, or a toy at all really. Mickey’s tail is long and looks like it would snap off easily without much pressure. And just from a design perspective, on the black and white side of Mickey, his shoe is still brown, and has a yellow buckle. The other shoe has no buckle. The shoe on the b+w side should be black, but maybe that didn’t look right because Mickey’s leg and body are already black. Anyway, still pretty cool for $16, all things considered.

I am a Disney nut so may just be me. But this is probably the best office display Disney collectible yet. Looks so much better in person. Excited to have it in my office at work to show all the years blended into one nice size Mickey!

Couldn’t have got this for a better deal on sale! As a collector this is a must have and really a nice unique piece to add to the collection. Very well built and designed with much detail.

This Mickey mouse statue is nice and good quality. I got it for my son, he really likes it. Price was good too. I would recommend it.

Hello, my name is Carlos. I'm an avid collector of things I am passionate about, and I deeply love #Disney. Last year, my brother passed away unexpectedly on my birthday in November. It has been a struggle to get out of bed and find motivation in the simplicity of things. I've been trying to move on, but it feels like a part of me is forever lost. This September, I saw a statue of #MickeyMouse celebrating the hundred years of @Disney at #BestBuy, it instantly caught my eye. I was surprised that it was made by one of my favourite toymakers, @NECA_TOYS. My brother loved everything @Disney and #NecaToys, so I instantly found a connection with it and bought it. Sadly Yesterday, I woke up to find the statue had lost one of its arms, not because of any impact or accident (because I kept it in a glass display case, for its protection). The statue has a manufacturing error that I wasn't aware of. I discovered this upon reading the reviews on bestbuy.com and seeing other customers experience similar problems. I contacted #BestBuy customer service, hoping that they would be able to help me. What I experienced was one of the worst customer experiences of my life. Please remember that I buy most of my electronics from #BestBuy and never felt uncomfortable with a representative. Someone who doesn't comprehend #Autism won't fully understand how difficult it is to explain something that has a deep meaning to us and the feeling of shame and frustration that comes out of it. This was exacerbated by the customer service team refusing to help me in every corner. I knew the statute was outside the store warranty policy, but I was asking for a replacement due to the fact that it had a known defect, and I am not the only one dealing with this. It means much to me; I wouldn't have posted about my experience if it didn't. I don't have the money to re-buy it; even if it is a dumb statue, it means a lot to me. I don't want people to feel or experience this type of treatment, especially those who are neurodivergent; I didn't receive the #kindness or #empathy I deserve, wanted or needed; honestly, that's fine... I have come to expect that from people. The reason why I am posting is because I am left without any options. If @BestBuy, @NECA_TOYS or @Disney is unwilling to help me, please at least take the product off the market. Stop selling it. I know it's a dumb request, but it does make a big difference, at least to me. Thank you for bearing with me.
