This is a pretty fun game. My kids like getting chased by the cops and crashing into things. We don't get very deep into the story.

Even though the PS4 has excellent potential and is a technical powerhouse, the list of titles available at launch were extremely limited. And amongst those few games, even fewer stood out as worthwhile or marked departures from the existing generation of consoles. Need For Speed: Rivals is a welcome exception. Developed by Criterion, the award-winning studio behind excellent car and racing franchises such as Burnout, Rivals portrays the best features of the racing genre without the monotony or steep learning curve that some of the other franchises exhibit. The player is able to choose which side they play on: the police, or the vigilante. Each side has different sets of cars and power-ups to choose from, offering wide variety and high replay value. The graphics show the initial capability of the powerful PS4, with breathtaking lighting and shadows and engaging textures. The environments are vivid and breathing, and driving around Redview County couldn't be more thrilling. Even with these positive features, the game's writing and dialogue does not live up to its fairly interesting storyline. While it's not necessarily expected for a racing game to have Shakespearean text, it definitely would have been a worthwhile improvement. Overall, NFS: Rivals is a fun and exciting addition to the currently small PS4 library, and should be an automatic purchase for those picking up the new system.

I haven't been a fan of need for speed for awhile now. I got this game as preowned and so far I like it. Graphics and detail of the cars is amazing.

I haven't played this game too much due to time constraints, but the little that I have played has been fun and engrossing.

Fantastic graphics. Love the fact you can play as cop in this addition. The map could be expanded into other counties.

This has kept my kids well entertained when they are allowed to play. I have a 5, 11 and 13 year old. It definitely has opened their eyes to cars and I'm constantly getting hammered about cars as they get introduced to the makes and models. JDM especially. I don't mind as it is a break from the fps games that tend to be the go to games these days.

This is a awesome game! Specially when played with a sound system! Lots of speed and action!

Great and fun game. It has a high replay value in just being able to drive around and play cops and robbers. Some drawbacks are the camera views are not the greatest. There are only 2, road view and one tight on the car. It makes it difficult to see objects coming at you until it is to late. Also in police mode, your fellow officers get in the way more then anything. All in all it is a fun game, it is worth having in your collection.

Great game to just pick up and unwind. This game consists of completing challenges all while evading the cops. You can fully customize your vehicle

Have only played a handful of levels and it definitely takes some getting used to. Like the graphics and speed of play. No glitches or issues yet. As with any game had to download updates immediately. Went quick though and was crashing into everything in sight in short order.

Been a big fan of the franchise for years, and this one is by far my favorite. The graphics are amazing on the PS4, and is so fun to play.

Good game but not as good as past games. Graphics are good but story line isn't as good as others.

This is a great game with many hours of fun to be had. I haven't played any other game as I'm trying to finish the missions. The game play is very smooth, and extremely detailed. I was expecting this out of the ps4, but I'm still happy to actually see it. Don't be afraid of my things I don't like section. I love the game, 

Such a fun game and very much like the movie. You feel as though you are actually driving the cars yourself!

In my opinion, the need for speed franchise has been hit or miss lately. However, this particular game in the series seems to be a hit. The graphics are amazing, the game play is fun and smooth, and the soundtracks aren't bad either. Switching between rivals and cops careers is easy and very fluid. The only thing I find annoying is when you are working on single player campaigns, the open multiplayer world aspect gets overbearing. In my first race alone I had to outrun six different people playing their cop careers. I believe they should've kept that aspect separate. Supposedly there is a way to turn that off, but it is a hassle as it is not easily identified where you can do that. All-in-all, the game is a great rendition in the series and definitely worth playing.

My 11 and 8 year olds wanted a racing game for PS4 and the price was right.

I like the idea of getting to choose which side of the law to be on. Some of the challenges do get a little repetitive but the constantly changing environment make it a little different every time you play.
