Awesome game really nice graphics gods quality fun to play nice cars gods race tracks and barely lags just a long loading time

My two boys play all of the Need for Speed games but this is one of their favorites so far!

With all the racing games "Shift" is a must buy! Great in the drivers seat graphics, single and mulitiplayer outstanding. Controls are very easy and manual Shifting is no problem. With great driving comes rewards as in badges, upgrades and like all great driving games awsome cars. If you are into racing and maybe not but you want to jump off the shooter games give "Shift" a try. I received this game as a gift and was skeptical, well days later was still playing the game.

You can pick from a wide range of cars - from a ford focus to a zonda r - it takes some getting used to braking in the turns, but with enough practice it is pretty easy. The sounds that the cars make are unreal. Just like other NFS car games you upgrade your car as you level up and make more money. This is a racing only game, there is no free world you can just go joy ride around in. I would recommend this to anyone looking to play a fun and exciting race car game.

This game is comparable to Gran Turismo & Forza. It is not like the Need for Speed from the past (Most Wanted & Carbon). Having said that it is an entertaining game. Some races are too easy and some are challenging. The graphics are excllent. I was disappointed at the lack of a lap counter. If you're in an endurance race and there are some with 30 laps it would be nice to have a lap counter. Also it does not tell you which position you are in the race. I was leading a race and spun out, once I was back on the road and there were no cars in front of me I thought I won the race. Needless to say, I did not. However, it's only a minor inconvenience. Overall I do enjoy the game.

This is one of the better racing games I've played in awhile. The sense of speed is unlike any other racing game on the 360. Things start to blur as you are sucked into your seat. I never enjoy the in car view until this game. Career mode is kinda boring. Just pick your race and try to gain as many stars as you can. (3-1 for First - Third place finish) and 2-3 for extra task during the race) There are not a lot of cars to pick from but the one's you do get are very nice. The complaint above about making turns.. I don't have a problem. Just slow your car down and turn the wheel. It's just as any other racing game. Sounds like the person just isn't good at this game.

This is probably my favorite NFS game yet and I have played just about every one since High Stakes. This is the first racing game that I have used the in-car camera solely. I can't imagine playing this game and not taking advantage of that. The graphics are the best I have seen of the NFS series even when you're going 150+, there isn't any skipped frames which would make it feel unrealistic. The car battles are probably the most fun with it being a 1-on-1 best out of 3 race. After playing this game it is obvious that some of the reviewers on here need to have their reviewing priveledges revoked. Especially the one complaining that you can't turn down the race music because it is turned off by default, all you can hear during the races are your car. My only complaint I have about this game is that it takes an unusually long time to load the tracks. Sometimes it seems like I'm sitting there for 30secs before the level loads. However, that just gives me a chance to get a drink and get comfy.

All the reviews I read prior to purchasing told that this was the best ever NFS game, so I picked it up. VERY disappointed, right out of the gate. The sense of speed is WAY off in my opinion. I was driving with suggested lines off, and I ALWAYS found myself going too fast for the corner. The game just doesn't convey your speed acurately at all, so I was constatnly slamming on the brakes because I was 'going' 70 mph versus what seemed like maybe 30 mph. Also, not being able to turn off the racing music during the replays is a HUGE killer for me. At least I didn't find a way. Why have accurate sounding cars if the sounds are going to be masked by some of the worst music in a racing game I've ever heard. Also, while sharp, there were a bunch of little 'glitches' in the graphcis. White lines and dots showing through the incar views, and even some of the outside views, near the map (which is extremely hard to see were you are on the course by the way, because of all of the checkpoints or markers that show as well, that look very close to how your car is represented). Not the killer that the sound / music was, but it didn't help. I fired up Grid, just to make sure I wasn't crazy, and after playing Grid, having played Shift, I don't think I'll ever play it again. Forza 2 is even better than Shift, and now we have 3 on the horizon, and if we're lucky, a new Grid game. So, while we wait for Forza 3, I recommend rediscovering Grid for the ones that have it already, or if you don't, grab it used somewhere and you'll be a happy happy camper!

First off, Don't listen to the reviews on here from people that havn't even played the game yet. (the ones that posted a review before the game even came out). This is infact the the best NFS game in a long time. The graphics are better than any other NFS game to date. The sense of speed on the cars you drive are just insane! You really do feel like you are the driver and not just some inside car view. You can even see the driver press down on the gas pedal as well as see the glare from the dashboard are all great details. when you get up to speed in your car everything in the background starts to blur which is a really cool effect. This is a must buy for racing fans.

NFS finally makes a comeback! the drivers view and experience in this game is absolutely phenomenal.. you need a wheel and you need to play the game with the in car view - you'll realize what you were missing out on.

NICE GAME, I GOT IT FOR MY SON AND HE LOVES IT. SO I WOULD RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE.

When i first bought this game i was still a little scepticle about whether nfs would decide to make their games better. Then i got it home and played it and was convinced right away. The cars are awesome, the racing is more realistic but not to much to the point that its not fun, and the upgrades are better. Everything they did was right on point with what they needed to do to show that they can still make a good racing game.

Like the dude said below dont listen to reviews that have not even played the game yet. NFS finally made a simulation game that goes in to depth about everything. Its also great for multiplayer a MUST GET GAME!

The graphics are great, the game has a wonderful feel to it. Driving around the tracks, jockeying for position. Also feels to technical could have been more fun maybe a real easy setting.

if you like racing games this is the game for you because it makes you fell like your in the car driving its awesome

Great game to play, nice follow up to the older need for speed.

Like I said Greates game of the NFS Seires yet. Includes some of the greatest cars ever.. to include the Mclaren F1 and Mercedez-Benz CLK Mclaren edition. Dear god if you like old skool need for speed this is one of those with some new looks and great graphics. Also has some more realism to it like inner cock pit mods and of course outer graphics. Love the game and you will to.
