Kids love them, but not not full VR

I found this item amusing after I bought them since they said VR. Once you slide your device into the cardboard and use the app the kids love to play around with it. They also found that youtube can do VR setup as well to make the unit incredibility useful for them. Its mainly a cardboard box so durability will depend on how you treat it. I found there are a number of other non-powered VR units that are similar and I don't see much difference on the experience but how they mount the device to be used is the main difference. Mounting for the device is behind a cardboard flap which overtime will wear out but not sure how much abuse it will take before it will break down. Secondly you have to use one or both hands to hold the unit so not head strap or anything else to make the unit hands free wearable, that could be a good thing though. If you need something to just play around with some VR that will not break the bank this will do the trick but there could be better units out there that give you a better experience.

The cardboard viewer is cool but it does not really bring value to the Nest Protect I purchased. The novelty wore off quickly. However the price was right ($0 since it was included at no cost with the Nest Protect).

This is a full item to look at some basic VR scenes. You can’t compare this to the electronic versions, but to get cheap introduction to what VR is this can be an idea.

Along with your Nest comes the bonus gift for viewing. The website that they give works well. Gets you to think about other Best Buy viewing available to purchase...

The picture quality was terrible. Fuzzy, blurred, dim. I don't understand why Nest bundled this with my smoke detectors??!!
