I LOVE THESE!!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Originally I was looking for a digital alarm clock that didn't double as landing lights on an airstrip! Then I saw these were on sale as a 2-pack, so I tried them. The ambient clock setting which is my "Home" image is PERFECT! At night it dims down really low and comes back up when the lights are turned on. PLUS all the other things it does. Now part of the NEST Family, many other devices can easily be paired. I got a Sensi Thermostat. Now I don't even keep the heat on at night. Before I get up I just ask to turn the heat on and VOILA! Before I even get out of bed I know what the weather is outside and the prediction for the day. Nor did I "program" the thermostat. Just one setting for heat and one for cool. Throughout the day I change my mind and settings frequently anyway. Plus I can have the Heat/AC turned on remotely for when I get home. I can hear music, ask for definitions, get directions....on and on. The Google Assistant is fairly responsive - you just need to become familiar with how to ask and phrase things. A bit tricky setting one up - but once I got past that, I am very glad I bought these. GREAT value as a 2-pack Deal of the Day. Only thing I DO NOT LIKE is saying "Hey Google!" I would like to personalize it with my own command name!

Good for kitchen
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this in a bundle with our Google wifi. I'm not sure I would have bought it otherwise. It is handy to have especially in the kitchen, but I prefer it over using my phone for recipes. It also has Google Assistant so you can control smart devices connected to Google Home app. Downside is no chrome and no way to add apps or cast recipes to the hub. Some recipes can link to Google but many do not. We have not tried it for video calls yet.

Love the Hub
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love my Google Hubs. I purchased one for my bedroom and one for the kitchen. The kitchen one allows me to follow a recipe hands free, as well as watch tv while I cook. The bedroom display broke me monitor my nest, and plays an integral part in my morning and bedtime routine. It was easy to set up and interfaces well with compatible accounts.

Great price
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought a 2 pack on sale. Great sale price at Best Buy. I now have Echo devices and Google. The Nest Hub works great with my Nest security system and camera once you synchronize the products. The Echo Show and Google Nest Hub have their good points but I am favoring the Nest Hub. Better picture quality and as mentioned works better with my Nest products.

Better than Show
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had converted all of my household AI to Google Assistant and it was worth it. There is so much simplicity and ease of use even in just the interface. I dont have to worry about multiple names, missed notifications or unrecognized questions. I am using this product in the living room for now, but it could be useful in the kitchen for recipes and timers or in the bedroom as an alarm clock and sound machine. You CAN watch YouTube videos on the home hub. While using the "Cast" option, it is absolutely seemless controlling video or music from a phone, with an optional "guest mode" so guests can do the same. The speaker is perfect for my apartment without being too over the top. I always have the option on google hub to use bluetooth for other speakers. (With no aux port there is a significant drawback on this feature if you have a separate speaker without bt capabilities) Although a single speaker may not have the "filling" sound, the sound is well rounded enough to sync with other speakers and fill many rooms without being loud (extremely useful for around the house activities). Set up for all this is a breeze. There are literally two steps to setting up this device: 1) Plug it in and 2) Download the app. The google home app is also simple and easy to manage. HIGHLY recommend this product, because there are so many useful features and it works so much more efficiently.

Handy and fun to have
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this after having just a google home mini last year and my wife thought it would be handy to have for voice commands in the kitchen. It has been very good and fairly easy to use, she gets recipes (although through specific compatible source) and is able to use it that way. It also defaults to showing pictures when it is "sleeping" and it is not night time and that is fun to have.

Very slick
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a Christmas present to my wife. She uses it for video chats between our daughter and Grandma, for morning weather before her commute, trending news, following recipes while baking, listening to music etc. We have barely scratched the surface of what this device is capable of. The picture and sound quality are both excellent. We are still learning.. but I highly recommend it!

Be careful — you'll want more than one!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my first ever Google Home device. I was under the mistaken impression that I first had to get the Home Hub and then branch Google Mini devices off of it. Hogwash. You can run your whole house using Google Minis. But the sound quality of this speaker is much better, a hair less good as the regular Google Home and of course, not nearly as good as a Google Max. But I don't use this for sound. I love having a little "TV" in the kitchen. I subscribe to YouTube TV so the Google interaction is nearly seamless. The whole video experience extends onto a screen and is a nice addition to the entire experience. When someone is at the door, my Nest Hello video doorbell will display their image onscreen. The touchscreen is very sharp although I hardly ever use the touchscreen features as I control most everything using the iOS app. The design is very nice. It looks like a floating "phablet". There are still a number of bugs to work out but they're all software related and Google is somewhat responsive to issues you may identify. These are on sale everywhere now too so it's a great opportunity to up your Google game. The compatibility with third party devices is growing every day. I must have over 40 smart devices in my home, most of which are reachable using my Google Home Hubs or Google Minis.

small & compact
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While the Lenovo's offer better sound, the google smart display offers better size. It fits easier on a desk or night table, unless you have lots of space. Functionality, all are exactly the same. You just need to take stock of how much available real estate you have. I have both the small and large Lenovos, which sound better, but they're much harder to place because of their size.

Necessary if choosing google for you smart home
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty necessary if you decide to use google as your smart home ecosystem. Great hub for my nightstand. Small and inconspicuous. Nice smart art display. Setup routines. At night really nice ambient mode. Not bright at all when dark, so you can sleep. Buy when on sale (esp Black Friday sale) kind of overpriced at list.

Really love the screen and improved speakers
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to upgrade to second generation Google home after upgrading our Xfinity internet service and modem. This Google Nest is so cute - and the screen is very handy. Connected quickly also. The major difference versus first generation is the sound quality of the speakers. This one really sounds great playing music. That alone is worth the price.

Compact but powerful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Google Home Hub is small which allows you to place it in many locations. But the Hub is not designed to be a primary visual media for films and TV. It does a great job as a hub for Google Home by allowing control of all home devices quickly and consistently with the Home app by Android. The sound is pretty good for small speakers. The screen is sharp for a small device.

Can't play Netflix!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the Amazon Show 5 and wanted to see how it compared to the Google Nest hub. In some things the Show 5 is much better! For example I can watch Amazon shows, and I can even watch Youtube by viewing it via the browser (I use Firefox). Whereas with the Nest hub I can't watch Netflix directly. I'm supposed to be able to cast to the hub but I don't see any documentation on how to do that in the Home App. Both do home automation about the same, I have some smart plugs and a smart bulb. Google does better with general knowledge questions, the screen is bigger, the photos as background does better than the Show 5. Sometimes the Show 5 will stick on a picture, so to prevent screen burn in I set it to one of Amazon's backgrounds. I like that the Show 5 has a camera that I can turn on and off, the nest hub doesn't. I can also use Skype to call and the video quality is good and I can drop in on another echo like using an intercom and make an announcement, the Google can use broadcast to do announcements but doesn't have a true intercom function but you can make calls using Duo but this display doesn't have a camera so you can see the other person but not vice versa. If you live overseas in a country that's not supported Google is very limited. I gave this as a present to someone overseas and it won't show Youtube videos even though the videos can be viewed on computer, tablet etc. there. There's no music from any of the top services (Amazon will play from Amazon music), you basically only get the photo background, control of smart home devices and the ability to ask Google verbally instead of typing in a question. So if you want to give this or buy this if you live in one of the countries Google isn't in yet, don't. If you have an Amazon account you would do better buying one of the Amazon devices. I've given Echo dots as presents and they work fine in the country in question.

Great household product
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been a great product for everyone in the house. Love using it as a picture frame that automatically updates as I take photos. Also great for asking quick questions and even reading recipes while cooking. No camera on this model, and has a switch that can disable the mic. We tend to use mostly for photos and music and sometimes stories.

Great hub for your smart home
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Google Home Hub is a great way to integrate your smart home with a nice "dashboard". It puts many common features at your fingertips and does a great job of providing useful information in the compact form. This also does NOT have a camera so I feel more comfortable placing it on my nightstand to use for white noise falling sleep and relaxing alarms when waking up.

Must have for every home!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was adamant about getting smart home tech at first, but these coupled with minis are great! The convenience of speaking commands and getting answers in invaluable. Asking about weather, controlling lights, thermostats, playing music, broadcasting personal messages throughout the house, etc....will buy more when sales come back around.

Go Google Home Hub!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Google Home Hub to run 2 smart bulbs but it does so much more! I got a Google Mini as a free bonus and was able to sync them together as a Homegroup to play music simultaneously in both locations. Google Home can help me find my cellphone too. I've not had it for very long but I am definitely enjoying all the features I've discovered so far.

Great Companion
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using a Home Mini for a year. Now I decided to expand - I got the Hub, a few smart switches. The Hub is a great visual companion. I can see, watch, listen, get entertained and informed. The device has a great screen, somewhat sufficient speaker and an easy to use interface. It allowed me to get rid of three other devices from my bedside lamp table.

Hey google
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This one sits in our kitchen and connects to our nest thermostat, Phillips hue lighting, and is used often to control all the speakers to listen to music while cleaning or cooking. For the cost of a electronic photo frame you get that and so much more! Usually on sale in bundles with other smart products.
