Great product that was easy to install. I definitely recommend this product to those who need to replace their smoke detectors.

As a designer I thoroughly appreciate all of the attention to detail that Nest has brought to such "lowly" household items as the smoke detector and thermostat. I purchased two of these units - one for the downstairs and one for the upstairs. It took more time to drill and mount them to the ceiling than it did to setup the smartphone application and have them working. This was my first taste of smart-home devices and I am looking forward to adding more because of my Nest experience.

Great looking and amazing product. Love the feature of carbon monoxide checking as well. A must with a nest thermostat.

The nest protect was easy to install and test. The best app syncs all nest devices and let's you easily control them.

Nest makes the process idiot proof. It took me 10 mins to connect all 3 devices from the time I opened the package!

It's great being able to keep track of what's happen in my house via Wi-Fi. The night light feature is also a plus.

Love this unit. Had to replace an old CO detector, and we had problems with our old smoke detector going off after anyone took a hot shower (detector is just outside the bathroom door). This unit is smart enough to tell the difference between smoke from a fire and steam from a hot shower. No false alarms! Unit was very easy to setup. I like the nightlight feature, the ring glows dimly when someone walks beneath it, works great to see by in the dark, and can see where the stairs are. I also like that the unit has batteries rated to last 1+ years, so don't need to change batteries every 6 months. The detector will let me know when the batteries get low. Very happy with this unit so far.
