Would like to get more but the price is still pretty high. Other than that I like that they talk to my Nest thermostat so if there is an emergency, it can shut off the furnace.

Not your average detector. Install was easy and app feature works great. Awesome product!

I got one of these because the store ran out of the newer models. It's slightly bulkier, slightly harder to mount to the ceiling, slightly harder to connect to the account/network/other detectors, but still a far sight better than most smoke detectors. If you have no option to get newer ones, go for it, otherwise find yourself a 2nd or, better still, 3rd generation Nest Protect.

Great product that will out last the cheap Fire Alarms they usually put in a home. A excellent feature is the night light feature when you can keep it on or have it sense motion and turn on and then back off, this gives me a good amount of illuminated light when getting up and going to the bathroom so I avoid stepping on the dog and waking people up. ;)

Overall easy install and pretty cool looking. Love that it extends the reach of the Nest thermostat. The Thermostat used to go into away mode despite me being in the back office. Once I installed the Protect the Nest thermostat knows I am here and I no longer have to make trips to the thermostat or use my phone to tell it I am home/wake the thermostat.

This smoke/carbon monoxide alarm is awesome. It speaks (in addition to the annoying noise smoke alarms make). If the battery is going low, it will speak to you and tell you the battery is low and it will identify which one needs attention. This is enough reason for me to love this product, instead of hearing that annoying "chirp" from a traditional smoke alarm and then trying to figure out which smoke alarm is making the noise (kind of like trying to find a cricket; it is never where you think you heard it). Before it activates its audible alarm it will give a verbal warning and tell you what the issue is such as, "Carbon monoxide detected in the living room." When there is an alarm, all of them speak the warning instead of just the one in the problem area. I have three installed in my house, and you only need to press the test button on one of them to conduct a test on all of them. There is a phone app that monitors the alarms, and it notifies you immediately if there is an activation, power outage, or other issue. There are cheaper smoke alarms, but you will be impressed with the Nest if you can swing the $99 price tag.

This is my second Nest smoke/co alarm and I have 2 Nest thermostats. They all work - very well - and there is the communication between devices that should the furnace produce some co then the smoke alarm will shut it down - as well as alarm - haven't seen it work and hope I never do but it is comforting to know.

We recently purchased the Nest Protect. I was able to easily install it on my own by following the step-by-step instructions online. We have only been using it for about two weeks now, but are very satisfied with it so far! We highly recommend it to anyone interested in decreasing their utility bills!

I already have the Nest Thermostat so I thought I'd give this a try. I really like it, especially the nightlight feature. Only complaint is that I have a newer house and there are 6 more smoke detectors that I have to replace if I want all alarms synchronized... Hoping they might go on sale soon!

I have 5 of these. Love them all. We had a semi-serious bacon-burning incident in the microwave after installing them and low and behold they worked! The voice that tells you your house is burning to the ground is really nice. If it weren't for smoke or dangerous gas you'd almost want to stay and try to strike up a conversation. These can be a bit difficult to set up sometimes but once you do 1 or 2 you get in the swing of it. Just follow the directions. I also have the Nest thermostat and the Dropcams installed in my home. They all work together! I did have a problem where one of my Protects notified me in the middle of the night of smoke (the alarm wasn't going off) and there was no smoke. I just woke up confused to at the alert on my phone in the morning. I called Nest and in seriously less than 5 min there was a new one heading my way, which got there within days. If I had anywhere else to put these bad boys I'd by more - but I'm all out of rooms!

I was very pleased with the purchase and install of the Next protect. The instructions were clear and the installation simple. If you're in the market for a new smoke and CO2 detector (they do need to be replaced every 7 - 10 years) you can't go wrong with a Nest protect.

This is a good product with a downloadable app that should alert you when there is smoke even if you're not at home. It is also great how it lights up at night when you walk near or under it. Bought 2 which work together.

It's really nice knowing I won't have to wake up in the middle of the night to low battery chirping, plus my phone tells me if it goes off when I'm not home...

I was able to install two(2) Nest protects in the house seamlessly. Simple instructions and have been a great addition to the house. Peace of mind for when you're not at home and your pet(s) & kids are.

this unit was simple to setup and looks great instead of the two units I had before, a nice feature is the light that comes on when it senses a person in front of it. It makes for a great hall light.

I was one of the first purchasers of the Nest thermostat and have loved their products ever since. The install of the fire/carbon detector was very easy and the two I have now work great.

The Nest was easy to install and instructions were easy to follow. I've had no problems since installed, and love to be able to check the status of the detectors remotely.

It's very nicely package. customer service support is excellent. Installation was quirky and did not work out of the box. My feeling is that although it is very nice, that it too expensive for what it does
