This 16 port Switch by NETGEAR is sweet. Small footprint, lightweight - perfect number of ports. Too easy to set up! And, now my hardwired sites show lightning speed!

I've been a fan of Netgear for decades, and I'm an IT professional. anyone that wants a wired home network (wired is always more secure and reliable that wireless!) should get this switch. It's plug-n-play (just plug everything in and it works), so you don't need to be an IT genius to install it, and it gives you plenty of ports for the wired network devices in your home. It's also great for small business offices that just need to share an Internet router, a file and/or database server, and a printer or 2!

This is a great little switch at a perfect price. I considered buying a 'managed' switch but decided I wasn't ever really going to see the benefit from all the hassle. This allowed me to get rid of all those 4-1 boxes I had stuck all over the place that actually slowed the network down. Now everyone cane stream their own HD content and nobody has any jiggle. I have fiber to the house which now runs through a ubiquity EdgeMax 3-port router as my master, Then I use an Apple Airport Extreme at one end of the house as my main wifi and another one near the bedrooms to extend it. BOOM, everyone has full speed, no interruptions and if you have a hardline you get full bandwidth every time. Best decision I ever made. Like it or not, the Apple routers make sure all the gear attach every time and you just won't need to mess with them ever again. And they last forever. This switch from netgear was the key to bringing everyone up to maximum speed. Yes, I spent the weekend in the basement running blue cable all over the house and I installed some very nice looking "low-voltage" outlets with RJ45 ports hear the wifi points. It was all worth it and my house is based in the warm glow of wifi goodness

I bought this switch to enable wired Internet in an old farmhouse that we’re renovating. Every room in the house was to have a hardwired outlet for whatever need there is that the future owners would like. The switch works great and solves the problem. Note that one input connects to a modem so 15 channels are available for devices to attach to the switch. It is small and light weight and it works perfectly. Installation could not be easier.

So many ports! ;-) Just like the 5 port. No setup required. Solid dummy switch. I wall mounted it. Was super easy. First one I bought did have some throughput issues. Only transmitting at 10base. Exchanged it and couldn't be happier. One should always check all the ports when working with new network gear. ;-)

At this point this thing is probably a stable in many peoples home network. I needed a bit bigger switch and decided to step up to the 16 port and this did the trick. Seems reliable and super quick. Very happy with the produce, especially at the price point! Basically plug and play too.

The speed and ease of use are second to none. Netgear is the gold standard in networking. Mine run constantly for years and years and have never failed. Get the 16 port unit if it physically fits because you know you're going to add to your system anyway.

This was truly plug and play. Our new house was wired with cat5 through-out, but they did not include switch. Connected switch to internet and all the cat5 to the switch. Easy and works great. I now have my WIFI in the right location, wired connections throughout the house. Unit works great.

This switch is small, fast, easy to set-up, easy to use, and works like a charm right out of the box. It is the definition of "Plug-and-play." Plug it in. Hook up your cables, and you're ready to go. I have been using it for almost 5 months now and haven't had a moments problem. It's reliable. I highly recommend it.

When I finally got hooked up to Google Fiber I needed a high speed switch to make sure I could have my entire network enjoying fast internet. Easy to install. It's been running without any issues for the last 2 years now

Lots of ports. Up to 1 Gbps at a time. Good value for connecting home devices that don't need constant high bandwidth.

I replaced a failing switch with this one. It has been vary reliable and simple to setup. With the 16 ports I have more room to expand. The only change I would like is to have the power cable on the same side as the network connections.

The ProSafe 16 port Netgear switch is easy to use, fast, and works as it is supposed to. If you have several directly connected devices and need more ports, I highly recommend this unit. It can mount on a wall or sit on a shelf.

The Netgear Ethernet Switch is a simple, easy to setup, switch that provides 16 high speed Ethernet ports that auto detects 10/100/1000 Ethernet signals. Works well for expanding your wired network, in a relatively small form factor.

Over the past few years, I have been putting together a DIY smart home, so I have accumulated several Ethernet plugs (security cameras, smart lights, several different hub/bridges, xbox, etc.). Previously, I was using 3 cheaper Netgear 5 port hubs linked together. So, I’ve been looking for the right switch to bring it all together. After, a lot of research I decided to pull the trigger on this one and I could not be happier!!! It does everything I want it to do plus its very fast. If you’re looking for a switch for whatever reason, I highly recommend this one!!!

Price is really good for this item and got it even better on Cyber Monday:-) Easy setup, plug and play. Bought it to replace two 8 port switches to route all traffic through a single switch for better performance.

The product warranty, the performance, the price, the convenience of it being located at my local BBY and being able to get MyBBY Program points are all part of the reason why I purchased this L2 unmanaged switch. Serious increase in file speed copying from WD MyCloud 3TB Gigabit Ethernet NAS to my Drobo5N and Drobo FS NAS servers. This is a REAL 32-Gb bandwidth L2 switch. Don't settle for other switches that claim to be "Gigabit" switches. They might have the same number of ports and link up at GbE speeds, but they won't have the throughput that this one does! When you start moving GB size files around your home wired network from PC to PC / Mac to Mac / NAS to NAS, you will appreciate the difference this product delivers.

This switch is easy to use. Well built like larger, more expensive units…but in a smaller more affordable size. Feels kinda heavy for how small it is…makes me feel like they didn’t cut corners.
