The Heat/Connection Issues

This modem works really on the plan I am using with Xfinity, but there are some problems with this modem.
The first problem is the HEAT. Every time when it cycles through a connection when it loses it's connection to Xfinity, the modem feel very hot. I keep the modem in an open place on the living floor where it is wide open.
The second problem with this modem is that it keeps being disconnected from Xfinity. There were days that it works for about 5 hours and all the sudden, it loses it's connection and can take up to a whole a hour or two on trying to reconnect. Power cycling does help a bit but this is concest and it always happens.
I really wish that I didn't talk my mom into buying this modem. It makes it very hard to play games or do other streaming services when this modem keeps disconnecting from Xfinity.

After spending an hour on the phone with Comcast, I was told this would NOT work with their 1 gigabit internet, despite the box saying it would work with up to 1.4 GB. I then decided to call Netgear and after spending two hours on the phone with them they confirmed this. It’s ridiculous that a company can advertise something completely false.

Just bought this modem which was on the Comcast approved list. Constant disconnects and would get stuck trying to re-establish connection. Had to power cycle the modem 3-4 times daily. Returned and purchase Arris SB6183. The Arris connected with no problems and has worked flawlessly. No dropped connections.
