I have a home office with a lot of network devices - a raided threadripper, raided NAS, wifi6 hub, laser printer, voip box, and sundry development boards. This switch connects them all with great speed, and it is rock solid. Get one.

Quiet, not hot, and very fast. Works great with eero for expanded ports. Purchased it for more ports with eero, printer, NAS, PS5, and Roku Ultra. Works like a champ!

Already purchased (2) 4-Port NetGear Gigabit Switches in last 3 weeks. Purchased this 8-Port NetGear Switch to keep in reserve for anticipated future use. When we moved into our new home 5 years ago, prewired the whole home with Cat 6 cable and installed a whole home LAN(local area network), along with fiber-optic Internet. This year started expansion with (2) LG OLED TV's a Rachio 3rd Generation Sprinkler Controller Wi-fi enabled, Tivo TV boxes along with an outdoor digital antenna.
All these new devices needed more cable connections chose NetGear switches the BEST for their ease of installation, reliability and well known Plug & Play. They just work! Connect them and forget them. Extremely pleased with their peformance.
Purchased the 8 Pperformance switch 2 weeks ago.

It just works! 8-port gigabit switch provides great speed at the sweet spot for value and functionality. 5-port sounds like a good choice until you consider that it’s only +3 ports above a patch cord.

There's not much to say about this Netgear 8 port switch. Just plug it in and it works. I have a 1 gig network and I'm getting 1 gig speeds. I had a Netgear five port switch that still works well and needed another few ports.

I use this as a second switch. I have router which goes to a switch, then run a cable from that switch, then to this switch, then to various devices. Just plugged in and it worked perfectly no settings. Perfect for me.
