The Ethernet switch is great. It works right out of the box. Nothing easier to move the wires from a 4-port over to an 8-port. Definitely worth every penny, and it being on sale 1/2 price made the purchase even better

Does What It's Supposed To Do

Nothing really exciting to report here. It does what it's supposed to do. Route your internet service from your Modem or Gateway to it, then to your devices. I originally purchased it because I did not think that I had enough ethernet ports on my Uverse modem/gateway for all of my new devices. But turns out I did. So I ended up using it as a extension for my Ethernet cord to reach my laptop on my bed. LOL! And I must say it works perfectly! :) I shall retire it however for the time being once the extra long Ethernet cord I just purchased from Best Buy arrives!

    Expand Your Network

I buy these switches to provide internet \ network connections to all rooms of my house. My house is pre-wired for internet \ network in almost every room with a panel of 10 ethernet ports in the basement. The only challenge is to get the internet from the single out port on the modem to each port in the panel. After connecting the modem to my router, the router has 4 ports left that I can use, so I run from three of them to ports in the panel. I use the 4th port to run to the switch, leaving me 7 ports in the switch to run to the remaining 7 ports in the panel. I use another switch in my home office to connect my desktop computer, two printers, and network back-up drive to the network. These switches are a great value and anyone can hook them up in minutes.

I will admit at first it was not giving me gigabit speeds.. I swore it was something with the switch.. I was using premade Cat5E cables.. Ended up 2 out of 3 of my cables were not giving me full speed.. So, I will advise everyone to check their cables first, before blaming the switch! A+ for money!

Using this to spread my Uverse T.V. service to the T.V. Boxes, tried other routers but they would all freeze and pixie-late the t.v. when more than 2 t.v.s were on in High Def. even though they were Gigabit routers. This handles all 4 T.V services from Uveres with no problem. as well as having numerous other items going at the same time. Only problem was I gave up trying to make this the main router as in order to do so I could not for the life of me access the routers interface to change DNS settings etc. no matter what I tried. so for now both my Uveres router/gateway and this are doing basically double NAT duty. I am not to concerned about those settings as with the amount of hard wired cables I am running I will be replacing this with a 24 port gigabit router.

No frills, but does exactly what I need. I had a set of devices off to the corner that needed to be connected, but only had one available port on my router. This let me extend connectivity to those devices.

So easy. Plug and Play. Works perfectly. No latency whatsoever. Very lightweight, so it is very easy to knock it around - but a small price to pay for the ease.

Not only is this network switch a high speed switch, it also is amongst the most affordable in its product class. Installation was a breeze and the aesthetics of the switch are rather pleasing.

This is exactly what I needed to link all my devices from the router. I have a smart home panel that has data plugs in every room. By linking this device to the router it’s all in one neat place and I don’t lose any connectivity. Totally satisfied.

Great device and its simple to put online. I needed more lan ports to reduce the load on wifi traffic. This was simpler to do than adding another modem and dealing with the ip configuration and having a double nat type on my network. This is a non configuration type but does exactly what is is intended. Simple worth the buy but as I am typing this review I see it has dropped in price by $5. Great product and netgear is a good company.

A little pricey but a solid, easy to hook up, and fast networking switch. Allows faster wired speeds for transferring data. Eight Ethernet ports allowing connectivity for storage devices, computers, TV's, and streaming devices. Different colored lights signal different connectivity speeds, 10/100 or gigabit

Excellent 8 port Switch. Handles multiple devices with no problems. I've used it to wire my XBOX Series X, PS5, Sonos AMP and Apple TV 4k to the network. I have gotten excellent performance when downloading games on both he XBOX and PS5 using my ComCrap 1gb connection. The swtich is small, silent, and doesn't run hot. Fits inside a home theater cabinet.
