This has the right amount of connections/ports that we needed for our home use of this product. Always make sure that you have a product that allows for the right number of ports that you will need.

This is my second Netgear 8 port ethernet switch (same model). Needed it for different room. Just plug ethernet cable into router and then into switch, you are ready to go. I bought my first one years ago, and still using with no problems. Easy way to add more wired devices to your network. Now have living room and office covered.

A few years ago, I needed to expand my router's wired capacity and I bought one of these. Ever since, whenever I've needed to expand my home network, I buy another one because they're reliable, fast and easy to set up.

After months of the interned dropping I narrowed it down to the switch. Purchased the 8 port NetGear switch and all is working the way it is supposed to. And it was cheaper then Amazon.

This is foolproof product. If you need more than one network ports.. Just simple plug in from wall then out to any devices and don't need to be in order. Switcher hub will know which one is out and input.

It doesn't tell you if the speed for the port is at 10/100/1gb. I have tested and it is ok, but I got what I paid for and the price was good. Too bad it didn't have a wall mounting template - easily overcome, I photocopied the back and instant template - sad part is though, there was room on the instructions for them to have printed a template

Can't go wrong with Netgear. I've been a long time user of these dependable products. Ive upgraded to more ports, my older one did not fail, still have it. Most likely gift it to a friend in need.

I purchased this so I could hard wire the connections to my TV, BD player, surround processor and iTV. It hooked up quickly without any issues. It has slots on the bottom so you can mount it if you would like. I chose to do just that. Works great and I never have to worry about my wireless bandwidth. Great addition to my system.

This is the second one of these Netgear 8 port switches I have installed in my network as it expands. They are both as easy as plug and play to use. I could also say set it and forget it as I have never had any issues with the first one after 2 years of 24/7 usage. Simple and effective I would recommend one to anyone looking for a few more ports to their local network.

I preferred getting an 8 port, but almost didn't because, based on the boxes, I thought it must be a lot bigger. After finding the size information, this is not the case. Set up is easy, although initially my wired connection worked but the wireless didn't. A reboot of the router resolved this. It's nice that all ports or smart and it doesn't matter the direction of the data flow.
