Bought this to give my wifi enough reach into my garage so my wifi garage door opener would work. Setup went fairly smoothly but it's not very clear how to use the Nighthawk app at first. Took a few tries for it to detect the extender. When setting it up, it had no problem extending the 2.4Ghz network, but not the 5Ghz one. For whatever reason, the Nighthawk app didn't recognize that my phone was connected to my 5Ghz network even though it definitely was. Not sure if this was an issue with the Nighthawk app or the range extender. As it stands now, I'm not sure if it's actually extending the 5Ghz network or not, but it definitely is for the 2.4Ghz network.

I have a Tablet, XB1, and PS4 upstairs in my media room. That sometimes lose signal or sound during streaming. The AT&T Router/Switch wasn't quite cutting it reaching those farther away rooms. I did some research and found that this range extender works with AT&T products. The product itself is somewhat easy to set up with the optimal signal lights on the unit (to know where the best signal is for use). I did have to change/enable my WPS settings on my router to allow the unit to connect to my network. I also had to reboot ALL my devices in my home to get connection with my network after the addition of this unit. After all that, I now have a strong signal with all my devices, and have not lost signal since during streaming. The product works as advertised and helped me out.

I'm really happy these exist. I'm renting a house with a friend and we share wifi with the back house. The connection was weak when I got here so I looked for items that would enhance it. This product works really well, on occasion it might find a weak connection and pixelate the screen, but all I do is reset the wifi password on my smart tv and it's back to normal! It was easy to set up too, my roommate and her mom were able to do it, no problem! There's a button on yor router that you can press and then turn on the extender and it should connect itself that way or it you'll have to connect it manually on the computer, but it'll give you step by step instructions. Just find a happy medium between the actual router and where you'll be using it most and everything should work out great for you too! If you are doubtful just ask a Best Buy employee, they're always so knowledgable and helpful! Really happy with this belkin wifi extender, got to cut my data usage in half because of it which means I'm saving more on my phone bill each month! But I also get to watch all my cool shows and shop my heart away online!

I've used an Apple Extreme for my wifi-router for years, and used an Apple Express as a range extender access point. But then I upgraded all my hardware to Gigabyte speeds. The Extreme was 1000 ready, but the Express was limited to 100. I'm not 100% positive, but I think my network was limited to the lowest common denominator - the 100 Express - with the exception of my main computer that was directly in the Extreme. So after much searching, I bought the NETGEAR-AC1200 and now everything is as it should be - no 100 limitation anywhere. It took me a while to configure it because it NETGEAR wants you to go through a website to do it and I wanted to just do locally. I can't remember exactly which method I ultimately used (think it was through the website in the end). But no problems since I got it setup - haven't touched it since even after power outages, etc. For Mac users, it does not show up in AirPort.

NETGEAR extender works really well in my house. It was so easy to set up, its almost plug it in your outlet and your done. I highly recommend this extender. I have a Netgear router too, but this extender doesn't have to be with just Netgear, you can hook it up to different routers. Had it over a year and it is still working just fine. It is definitely worth the price.

Item is reasonably priced, but best of all it is easy to install, a breeze to configure and it works great! We have a very long house, with the Wi-Fi router on one side. Had almost no signal on the other side. Plugged the extender into a spare bedroom in the middle. Now we have a full strength signal anywhere in the house, including the garage. I highly recommend this product.

Super easy setup, just follow the directions and it's easy-peasy. I have a medium size home and it enhanced my coverage to cover the whole house. Before my Netflix had issues loading and would constantly have to reload... now it works great.

It took a while for me to set up my extender and make it work. It is helping bring the signal 50 ft appart from my modem but it seems like 2 concrete walls between my extender and the router are not so helpful to get the desired speed as the one I get in the area where my router is. So consider these facts to find a better solution for a faster comnection. I really had to asd a cable connecting my router to the extender and somehow it improved my wifi signal. The extender does its job thou not at the same speed you might expect. Do maybe next time, you want to consider a router as well.

Easy set up and simple directions. The price is fair and works good.

A best buy associate recommend this Extender to me. And it's working great. Placed it at the halfway point on our first floor and it's boosted our signal significantly on our second floor. Setup was very easy. Was ready to go in five minutes. Best option if you want something simple anx not complicated

It was extremely easy to install and extended the range of my signal from the basement to the second floor. Seamless speed!

I love my AC1200 dual-band router! I was having an issue (ok, it was my wife, but if you're married, you know her issue was our issue) with the wifi signal of my router (Linksys AC1900) weakening downstairs, so I bought this wifi-extender on sale to rectify that issue. And it did. I googled wifi extenders to see which ones were the best; i don't always get the best, but mostly just try to see what is reported, look at the features offered/recommended, and then review different links to see which one(s) are recommended the most among different reviewers. Then, if the prices are too high for one of those, I look for those in my price range that offer the same/similar features and get one of those. Being honest, its been some time since I bought this router, hence the long time before I reviewed it; but in the time I've had it, I have no longer had any issues with a weak signal anywhere in my home. In fact, when I'm in my driveway (about 50 ft from it, outside) or parked in front of my house (about 150 ft, outside), I have to switch my phone over to my data plan (disconnect from wifi) because the signal is strong enough to remain connected on my phone, but too weak/slow for me to use with normal response time. But those are rare situations, so its not that big a deal. i bought it to use IN my house, not outside it, and it works above/beyond what I initially expected, so I highly recommend this to anyone who needs a wifi extender. It was also easy for me to setup, and it supports both 2.4 & 5 GHz bands. One other thing...what I have noticed fyi is that, the 2.4GHz signal is more reliable for me the further away I am in my home, but the 5 GHz signal is more reliable for me the close I am to my router/extender, so just be aware of this once you set it up, because it might seem like its not working, when you might just need to instead switch over to one signal or the other...

Can’t argue with this. I have a detached garage about 70ft away. I got one bar in there but it works just find. Had some disconnections but was not that consistent. Maybe once a day lost connection for a few seconds. Setup wasn’t much of a hassle. Instructions were straight forward. Just make sure you read them. Once you’re connected to the device you won’t need the instructions; it’s self explanatory with the interface you have to use, they made that part pretty simple.

Download the nighthawk application for an easier set up. The app will walk you through all the steps, it's quite simple. I will say, I never know if I'm connected to the device or my actual router. I don't know if it's automatic, or if you have to deliberately connect to the extender. All in all, not a bad product for the price.

Pros: The Wi-Fi range extender provides excellent coverage. It's very easy to setup and to establish on your home network. Cons: It links to your wireless network as a separate unit, not a combined system. So you'll have two different wireless networks to sign into. I was looking for a range extender to extend the current range of my already established network because I have a sonos system and other wireless systems that only works on one dedicated network and I have dead zones in/around my house. So the extender works for some items but not others.

I bought this device because our wireless internet didn't reach into all parts of the house. Following the instructions, we plugged it into an electrical outlet where the original wireless internet signal was still fairly strong, but near a section of the house that had a weak or no signal. The 2 adjustable antennas are helpful. The supplied software app allows you to measure the signal from the device. You can use the app to play with positioning the antennas and which electrical outlet to use to maximize the signal strength and reach. Note, this device can only extend the signal it receives. It doesn't "boost" the signal strength. If you're unhappy with the strength of the signal coming into your house, this device won't improve that performance. This device is intended to extend your signal to parts of your house that don't get a strong signal.

So far it works well. It can cover the wifi range to make the weak points within my house far better than before. The only shortcoming is its app setup procedure. I used the nighthawk app to set it up. At the very beginning, it has its own network and my phone needs to connect to its own network to set it up. It worked well, and after all wifi settings mostly finished, I noticed that a firmware upgrade is needed and clicked upgrade. However, after that the app still shows the original set-up is not yet finished, and at that point I can no longer connect to its own network to finish the setup. So now the app is stuck there and I cannot do any further. But anyway the box can work its extender function well, and after I moved it to a different location it works as expected, though I cannot continue setting it up anymore. I think there is some bug with the app software. I guess next time, if I change my wifi router with a new wifi username and password, I will need to click the reset button to recover it to the original factory setting and do this from the very beginning, and the nighthawk app also needs to be reset. As of now, I do not need to worry, and should be able to enjoy its extender function.

I am not a tech minded person but I easily set up this Netgear Wi-Fi Range Extender with no issues. It is placed in a 2nd story room that is on the opposite side of the house from my modem and router and is used to extend wi-fi coverage to two Samsung Smart TV's. One of the tv's is in the same room as this range extender and the other tv is on the 1st floor of my house kitty corner from the room with the range extender. Both tv's use the 5G EXT and I have not experienced an issue with the wireless network connection.

Look guys don't expect this thing to make u have full wifi service it just gets the signal you already have in the area you put it in and sort of amplifies it a tad bit. It's just like an extender in short. So instead of having 1-2 bars with shotty signal, you'll have full bars wifi signal with. Slight speed boost. Also great because it has Ethernet out, just in case u need that extra MBPS.
