For some reason I had set-up issues, more specifically trying to activate 5ghz band. I had to reset it several times and with some fiddling I finally got the 5 GHz light to light up! I know it shouldn't have been that hard. Maybe the problem was with the user end, but oh well. Other than that it works great. I use only the 5 GHz band as I have wireless security cameras that hog the 2.4 GHz band. I use this not as a WI-FI extender, but to allow internet to my devices in the living room.

I purchased this to use as an Access Point rather than an Extender. It works just fine. Setup was a little unclear because it defaults to the assumption that it will be used as an Extender. Also, the setup guide said that the you could not connect devices via an ethernet cable when in AP mode which did not make sense to me. I connected them anyway and the wired devices connect to the LAN without any issue. I am not sure if I need to create separate SSIDs while in AP Mode. it would be nice if I didn't as my wireless devices would then be able to transfer to the stronger signal automatically but I guess that is the advantage of an Orbi. But spending $80 versus $350 was a better option to get me the range I wanted and the ability to connect my streaming devices to my network via ethernet vs wifi.

Able to connect and get a signal on 2G simply by pushing the wps buttons on both router and extender. Couldn't get the 5G to work though. Easy to set up. Limitations due to outlet location and wall obstructions that are independent of the router.

Amazed at the speed and coverage of this Range Extender. No clear line of sight, buildings and trees in the way and setup over 100 feet from router. Speed test shows this is connecting at top modem speeds! In a week of use I have experienced no drop outs. Super value for money!

The extender has a great pickup range (I used it from over 200 feet away in a separate house to test) and works great for what it is. Just remember that it is an extender and will therefore cut the speed of the original signal considerably. If you are looking for high speeds and large range coverage, I suggest just buying a more powerful router (like the Netgear Nighthawk)

I originally purchased this product because I thought I had a wireless dead spot in my home. As it turns out the dead spot was between my ears and not my wireless connectivity. At the end of the day I ended up returning this product. The product itself was very easy to configure and it found my main wireless with a minimum of configuration. The connection was strong and stable. I did perform a firmware update on this product via the built in update feature. Everything went well. At the end of the day this proved to be the wrong product for the right problem. This doesn't mean that this was a bad product. It actually is a very good product. The four port switch with the wireless access point feature was really cool and solved a few issues I had with multiple non-wireless devices. The interface was easy to use. I would recommend this product to anyone who has a range issue with their current wireless network. In my case it turned out that my wireless issue was really failed wireless adapters on my equipment which I ultimately replaced.
