Installed this system around home due to mysterious vandalism around my property since my new tenants moved in. Turns out the system records clear video. I set up to be motion activated and they catch everything I need them to. Away from home often nice to be able to open app on my phone and watch live from any of the four cameras or just watch what was captured during the day. Only downfall is battery life and the batteries are quite expensive.

We bought these to place outdoors and keep an eye on our alley and driveway areas. The fact that they're wireless was a huge selling feature as I didn't want to run cable all over the place. They're really small and easy to mount using the included magnetic mounts. This set also came with one adjustable mount. Setup was a piece of cake. Plug in the router, install the app, sync the cameras. Done! We're still fine tuning the rules of when they record, but overall we're pleased.

The fact the cameras are totally wireless was a major point in my decision to go with the Arlo cameras. So far, I am pleased with the results except for the camera I have outside my front door. I get about 50 motion detections a day for no apparent reason. I'm sure I will work through it by process of elimination. There are a couple of things I would like to see Netgear work on. Local storage in case my Internet connection goes down and try and speed up the IOS App response time.

Dollar for dollar this security system is fantastic. For those that feel the batteries don't last long, I want to note that the more you login to a camera, the more battery you will use. The batteries do last 4-6 months with normal use. By normal, I'm referring to a quick check daily. The video quality is very good. No audio stinks but liveable. The fact that these are clean when installed and flexible in terms of moving around the house is very convenient.

    Great Security Camera Somewhat

Great inexpensive Camera System. The video is great and the recordings are great too. However, these Cameras eat Batteries. If you don't correctly program these cameras, the C123 Batteries the cameras take last for only 2-3 weeks not months as the packaging states. Plus when you set these cameras motion sensitivity to under 90 the cameras won't record that well at night. It could be that I have the cameras to high on the sides of my home, because the height is more than 7' foot which the higher you go, the higher you have to set the "Motion Sensitivity" which also causes Battery Drain. The company should realize if a customer mounts these cameras at 7' (recommended height) the majority of thieves are going to walk up behind them (without the camera recording or capturing an image) and just remove the cameras. Anyway the system is a great for the price, but the company should work on the sensivity issue of the cameras and battery issue. Don't get me wrong I love my system, but climbing a ladder and changing out the Batteries every 2-3 weeks is ridiculous and expensive.

We were looking for a system that was quick to install and could tie in with our Smartthings hub, this was a good investment so far. I got this installed in a matter of minutes around our house. The initial setup was a breeze as well. Was a little hesitant at first after I saw the complaints about the battery life, but after having this installed for a little over a month now, I have not seen any significant drain on any of the outdoor cameras batteries and they are all exposed to the elements here in Michigan. We have added a fifth camera to our system as well since my wife has expressed that she was satisfied with the quality and the feed and how easy it is for her to see whatever she needs to from any end of the house. We have made some adjustments to the placement several times with a couple of the cameras, and that is big plus to me as they are easy to reposition being completely wireless, we even have one that can roam around the house if needed, and tossed up on one of the metal dome mounts in several places around the house.

The setup of the cameras was easy and sharing the view with others via the app was a snap. Waiting to see how the batteries hold up as the ones that come with the cameras are not re-chargeable and the camera were mounted using ladders outside and constant changing of them will be a pain, especially as no electrical outlets are near by if we need to replace them with powered cameras. The cold this week will tell all we need to know.

Super easy to setup for a novice. No wires needed to run to the cameras! I really like the alert notifications and not needing to pay a monthly service. It records the activities and sends you an email and or text alert. It would be better if this can record longer if there are motion lasting longer than the predetermined recording time which I think is about 10 seconds. Sometimes I see an activity but it stops recording after 10 seconds. It pauses and may then record again. It could miss recording an important activity. However if you get the alert right away and have time to view live, then that's a good option. Only problem is that if your cameras activate a lot, then this option would not be practical as most of us can not be viewing the security cameras every time it goes off. Also would be great if this can save the recording beyond 7 days. I think the paid subscription allows this but this is not an option for a non subscriber. Maybe I will just have to crank my wallet open for that service.

These are perfect for what I need them for, being completely wireless was my only option. The picture quality is pretty good, and the ease of installation was a breeze. Battery life isn't too bad. I've had these for 2 months now and I run them for 7 hrs a day and the batteries are still at 80%. Yes you can monitor the battery life from your home page. The only down side is, the motion activation does have a slight delay sometimes. But I think placement of the camera has a lot to do with that. Would I buy them again, yes if I need to be totally wireless.

I purchased 4 Arlo cameras. I've placed 3 indoors and one outdoors, plus I set up motion detection alerts on the outdoor camera and one of the indoor cameras. I can use both my iPad and iPhone to view and stream these camera's feeds. They work great and were very easy to set up. I've had the cameras for a few months now, and all battery levels are still around 3/4 full. The night-vision works great, and the overall picture quality is very good. I would definitely recommend these cameras!

This is a good product for users who want a battery operated security camera system that is easy to set up. Of course, most users will put these cameras up in a spot that is easy to access, in order to be able to easily change the batteries. If you do this outside, you might lose one of the cameras. As other reviews have stated, the best way to conserve battery life is to use the motion detection function. The only problem I found with the cameras is this motion detection function. The motion detection field seems rather limited. Also, sometimes the person/thing that you want recorded leaves the camera view before the camera starts recording. In other words, these cameras will work great to catch someone who walks up to your house, but someone running by the camera may not be captured on video. If the motion capture and recording startup was faster, I would give this product 5 stars. Also, on a side note, I did not have any issues setting the cameras up on the other side of my house from where I located the base station.

Actually had to turn down the sensitivity quite a bit which you can do online or on the app each camera individually. Very nice picture, being able to temporary mount them is great so I can choose where I want them without having to run wires. Police came by when I was out of town to ask if they could get access since a crime happened down the block from me and they wanted to see if they walked by my house. Nice range too, but that also has to do with your internet setup. More than happy, Arlo won a bunch of awards before Netgear partnered with them, I can see why.

For a simple solution to have surveillance coverage without the necessity to run cables through your house, Arlo is the product to get. You have to first recognize its limitation and make a judgement if this product is for you. Simple installation with decent picture quality. Free subscription for up to five cameras. I use these cameras to alert me when a person comes to my house. The picture quality is not great in total darkness unless the person is right next to the camera. It is decent at night with external lighting. There is also an activation lag when a person comes into view of the camera. It's around 2 seconds. So the camera will not capture a person who quickly runs by. The phone app for the product works great; however, I am unable to download videos onto my iPhone. I download videos I want to keep from my desktop or laptop. Overall, with the understanding of its capabilities, I chose to keep it. I run it concurrently with a home alarm and allows me to view live footage or recorded footage.

This cameras images are very clear. One issue is that, it records with a delay, so most of the time, you will get video at the tail end of events. This sometimes makes it impossible to identify the person who came in, you will get when they are going back.

Great set that gives you simple setup and ease of use that helped to give my wife the peace of mind knowing that we can see what is going on from anywhere. I do wish there was an included battery charging base with the 4 camera to charge multiple batteries at once instead of individually and a few weeks after purchasing Netgear came out with the Arlo Pro 2 with 1080p video that would have been nice to have.

Like the wireless feature and the camera's ability to be outdoors. The scheduling of the motion detection is one of the first things that should be addressed. I did not and left the manufacturer's scheduling resulting in one of my camera's batteries dying within 2 weeks. The batteries cost $10 per two batteries and each camera requires four batteries.

I got these cameras because I needed protection for my house and my cars. I saw these and was impressed that they were wireless, affordable, and weather proof. I like them alot, but they don't have rechargeable batteries for this model, so you go through batteries quick if left on all the time and you can get the batteries on Amazon really cheap since the camera does not take rechargeable batteries. It has great quality in the day, but at night its hard to see if you have no street lights to light up your roads if you are recording your car. In other words, it does not work well at night with little lighting. The camera itself has a light that shines at night, but you have to make sure that your object you want to record is close in view of the camera so it can light it up. Otherwise than that, it is a nice camera and can get the basic job done of surveillance and records everything online to your account

Very nice Wireless cameras, very good image (day and night). Easy set-up. The recording process works and depending on your needs, free basic subscription could be good enough for a home or small business installation. Some "proffesional video surveillance and recording" features are not present and I asume (hope) some improvements are coming. But in general it Works fine as a remote observation system and recordings couold be usefull.
