The video quality of the cameras are very good even when enlarged and there is very little delay vs realtime. I would say less than two seconds to be accurate. The sensitivity of the motion detection is fantastic. I have gotten notices when a bug has crawled across the lens in the middle of the night. The only thing I will say is a deterent would be battery life. If you are looking for frequent viewing of any area, the camera will devour batteries in less than a month.

1-Star is because the concept of wire-free a. BATTERY LIFE is SHORT - a month to 6 weeks at most. b.Recording to the Cloud constantly failing c. False & inconsistent text alerts d. Camera DEFECTS, images in PINK, GREEN or BLACK, night vision failure e. Customer Service adds insult to issues with tactics in attempting to trouble shoot an issue, knowingly the failure is on their end & waste your time in hopes a fix will ensue while making you perform a dog & pony act. f. sometimes motion detection works, sometimes it doesn't even when jumping up & down in front of it. The camera's are easy to setup. I did have some range limitations due to the construction of the house. Image quality is good but not exceptional. Motion sensor can be a little touchy but it is adjustable. I'm getting insects to trip the motion sensor up close, but has a more difficult time tripping when large objects from a distance approach

Cameras work exceptionally well. Have 3 outside and 1 inside. No weather issues. Have to figure out how to keep wasps from triggering the motion sensor however. They like to climb on the camera. Battery life is a function of how long you have the camera running live. After 2 months have to replace some and others are at full power.

Great battery powered cameras easy to install and no wires!!! The battery's have a about a 3 month run time dependent on how you have them setup. This camera setup is just what I needed no complains here. The battery's are kinda of expense but you can buy them in bulk online and get them for cheaper or use rechargeable batteries.

Camera are not as quick to detect motion as expected. This allows motion to not be fully captured or even captured in a useful manner in some cases. The video quality is very good and allows good resolution of areas being monitored.

Easy set up and activation - I replaced a Vuezone system (same ease of setup and use) with the Arlo and the quality of the image is tremendous. With Vuezone you could recognize people - if you knew them. With Arlo the quality is good enough that identification is significantly enhanced. The only feature I wish they had is audio.

I bought 4 cameras for 500$ plus tax and one was broken out of the package. Keeps saying batteries are low but I have replace them with brand new ones (FYI 1 pack or 2 batteries is $10 and one camera takes 4 batteries you do the math on 4 cameras). I would have expected all cameras to work. NETGEAR takes no responsibilities and offers support at a fee. BEST BUY offers replacement insurance only before you buy them. So lesson is if you pass and one is broke GOOD LUCK. The Customer service I received from BEST BUY was terrible and completely unhelpful. NETGEAR GETS 2 STARS only because the pic quality is better than average. Recommend saving your money...price is too high to fit the product.

The camera is great! The setup is very easy. Just screw in the backplate into the wall and sinc with a push from the button and your camera is ready to go. It has a very strong magnetic back that attaches itself to the backplate. The videos are Very good HD quality type which are emailed when activated by motion, to your cellphone tablet are computer so you can view at any time.

I have an older wired security alarm including door and window contact sensors and motion sensors to monitor my home. Upgrading to a smart home wireless platform with my monitoring company (ADT) turned out to be very expensive. Others such as AT&T wireless provide similar solution. After reviewing I decided to add 4 of the Arlo Netgear wireless cameras to my security system. I have had this for only 2 weeks and so not enough data or information to provide detail comments on monitoring, battery life, and archived recording of motion-based video clips. Found it very easy to install and I had this connected to my router and had them operating in less than half hour. I had all of them placed inside with 2 viewing inside and other 2 outside the home through the windows. I did not turn on the motion detection and so no video is yet archived online. The battery after two weeks is still showing full strength which was one of my concerns since others reported lifetime of 2 weeks to months. The video both during daytime and nighttime was of good quality and can clearly identify from the picture even at about 40-50 feet away. I wish they would add a microphone that you can turn on/off when needed to capture some sound along with video when you want to monitor any unusual events. It is bit pricy (about $100/camera) but is well designed and if the battery lasts longer would be a great addition to your security solution.

I have had this for a week. Very easy to setup; picture is good in daytime but ok in night vision; lag time is noticeable from motion detection to when it starts to record; batteries will drain fast. Overall not bad for 720p wireless camera

Each camera contains 4 batteries that are suppose to last 4-6 months, however they lasted 2 weeks. We returned cameras and re - bought the same system which was the Arlo Netgear base with 4 cameras and bbatteries did not last one week on 2 of the cameras. Batteries are expensive to replace. Also, there is a delay when the cameras pick up motion detection. It sends the response to my phone app late, there is a delay. Image was clear and night vision worked good also. Only reason why we didn't like was the cost to replace batteries and delayed response to motion detection.

What I love most about these cameras is that set up is a breeze. There are no wires to hide and if I want to set a camera up in a different room, I can just place it there, and it is ready to go. The arlo app is easy to set up and get notifications from as well. The system comes with magnetic mounts for indoor use and one outdoor mount. We had to buy additional outdoor mounts for about $20 each. The outdoor mounts work great, but the indoor ones don't work all that well. It seems that the cameras are too heavy for the mounts and are constantly sliding down. That's the only downside we have seen so far (and we have had these cameras for over a month). Online reviews will say that these run through batteries quickly.

SOME EXCELLENT FEATURES - SOME NOT SO GOOD

We purchased this wireless system (4 pack) in order to monitor our driveway particularly at night and the long side of our home, front and back. Here's what good and not so good. I would not rebuy this particular system and would spend more money to get better features, but it meets my husbands needs. GOOD THINGS 1) 100% Wireless - you just need a internet router with an OPEN / unused Ethernet port, preferably using a faster connection like mid to higher speed cable. The Netgear Router plugs into your Internet Router. The cameras connect wirelessly to the Netgear Router. 2) Easy setup up router and cameras. Easy installation outside -- But only 1 of the type of mounts that allows for 360 rotation. The other 3 are magnets with limited rotation. We had to buy 3 more of the better ones for another $25++. Weatherproof is a plus. 3) Excellent HD daytime pictures. Good nighttime pics when you can get them. Great viewing from inside house on PC. 4) Easy phone and PC app to turn on, off, and manager cameras from home PC, your phone (download a free ap) or afar. Independently turn on or off the cameras or change settings. No audio. 4) the 1GB / mo is FREE online storage of vids. Can adjust camera sensitivity and others things inside. NOT SO GOOD 1. These cameras must be within 8 - ~ 10 or 12 feet of the motion at NIGHT for the weak IR sensors to go off and record nighttime activity. Thus, despite trying all the suggestions on their site, the camera which is mounted about 12 feet up doesn't pick up motion below it at night and so it doesn't turn on. If you turn up sensitivity, doesn't help but does drain the expensive batteries faster. Does a great job during the day and a long distance. We see clearly at least up to 50 - 100 feet during the day. You CAN go in phone or PC and turn on any one of the cameras for a live view day or night, but that's not picking up anyone in your driveway automatically at night unless they are within a very close range. Some people say you can get an extra IR light in the 850nm range to help -- but really? Why not just spend more in the first place for better night vision distance. 2. THE DELAY TIME from when a moving objects ENTERS into the field of view of the cameras to the START of recording is WAY TO LONG _ up to 10-20 seconds. This is BIG, especially if someone darts across the field of view - the camera does NOT pick them up. Even when I pull car into the drive, get out, walk about 40 feet up to my steps to enter the house, the camera only starts recording after 20 secs of of my first entering the driveway and camera field of view. Turning up the cameras sensitivity doesn't help this delay time much and it drains the batteries. You can't use rechargeable batteries in here and they are CR123A's. Knock offs aren't good because of the heat, so you must pay the price for 4 ea per camera to replace and they are not cheap. The delay time -- Intruders or vandals don't hang out long outside in one spot -- so this to me is very unacceptable. It's OK for my husband who really just likes the phone ap, and live look features best. Anyway - bottom line -- good price on the system. I would have spent more now and also gotten a WIRED system with faster response time and better night vision now that I understand how poor the night vision IR works and how long the delay is and how fast the batteries will drain. Mine will last about 3 mons per camera i figure. My hubby finds these OK for the price. Depends on what you're looking for in a system. They are one of the few that offers a FREE 1G /mo cloud service with no monthly fee.

The camera's provide a great day and night view when they work properly. We purchased the 4-pack and 2 of the cameras, although they worked, they had a red hue tint to them when you view the selected area. Even though it is a tint you can see clearly out of them. We contacted Netgear support and they stated they are having issues with some of the cameras having that red hue tint to them. They reshipped us two cameras to replace the defective ones, and they work great so far. They pick up all type of movement and they area it covers and the distance it records movement from the camera is great. We've had to adjust the cameras a few time because of the range it gets and we were getting constant notifications. Overall the cameras work great for us. We have them placed strategically around the outside of the house where we can see everything. I would definitely recommend this product.I gave it a 3 star because we did have to get two cameras replaced but the replaced cameras works great.

Used two of the cameras to watch our house and pets while gone. Quality was pretty good for the price point, especially if the room is lit well. We ended up leaving the lights on. Picture is in black & white in darker rooms. Set up took a little more than I had hoped for but went well and was easy. We checked our images on our phones, and laptop. Peaace of mind was worth it!
