    After renting my Xfinity Router for one year, I realized that not only was my Xfinity bill going up but I had been paying a lease fee for the Router. I purchased a receiver that I may or may not have to replace. I think it will last for several years. The cost to rent would be about 2 times the purchase in less than 2 years.
