big improvement if your area supports it

I bought this to improve performance during peak hours. (I imagine not much difference if there weren't so many users) For comparison - I was using an SB6141 prior - and now I'm getting much more stable performance. I think my latency is a little worse connecting to my old router - but should be closer if I connect directly to the primary.
Bonus: Since it's also a router in-one. I went ahead and split my devices onto separate networks - to ease congestion.
SmallNetBuilder has a great series on networking basics which covers how to do this. Be sure to change the IP sub-range (192.168.xx.1) to prevent IP conflicts.
*How to check if your area supports it?
(if you go to 192.168.100.1 - that should give you access to your cable modem. If you see the channels 8+, odds are you have more to bond to. Although you can keep restarting your modem and see all the different ones it connects to)

In order to access the increase in speed from my cable provider, this Netgear device made the short list. The setup was easy enough out of the box, and the cable company only needed to access the MAC number to be operational. Software allow for monitoring of users on the network. At this early point in the purchase this device lived up to its claim. The one downside is the size as it did not fit in the space the old cable modem occupied. However, that is negated when compared to the saving from not renting the modem from the provider.

This combo device replaced the old modem provided by twc and an older linksys router. We had good speed before, but lacked range. This saves us $8/month at current rates, and has fantastic range. I have the 50/mbps plan from TWC, which is the highest locally available. I consistently get .30ms ping/56mbps down/6up speeds. I get better download speeds 20 yards from my house when I'm grilling than I used to in my kitchen.
Unfortunately it doesn't allow advanced users to change many settings. Also many apps on several samsung galaxy phones work so slow they aren't usable. This includes facebook, youtube, and some browser plugins. This is an android specific issue that can't be bypassed because you can't change many settings on this device. The only way to access Facebook is through a browser, just the app has issues. youtube works poorly no matter what. I can watch Hulu and Netflix from 50 yards away, and many other apps work well. This problem is only present on this network. I can not reproduce it anywhere else.
We have a Vizio TV in our kitchen with a weak WiFi card, and we used a chrome cast to stream Netflix. After installing this product we can use the smart TV on its internal card again. We can stream movies on 2 devices while playing call of duty and have no noticeable lag.
I would recommend this for people wanting simple install with great speed and range. Unless you own a galaxy s5.

OK so my problem began when my Comcast service got incredibly spotty with the provided modem/router. I was losing my mind to be completely honest, I called 4 times to have them come out and every time they told me that it was not the internet that everything was find, but my wifi and ethernet connections kept dropping. So I research reviews and off to bestbuy I go. I get the mid level surfboard, and guess what, same problem. Then I go get the top of the line and same problem. Im losing hope now, all options are on the table including changing internet providers. Then my light bulb went off, wasnt netgear what you used to have in your old place, back to bestbuy I went. I said last try got this guy and he wasnt cheap, but like a miracle from the man upstairs everything started working awesome, my girlfriends wii which is in he opposite side of the house 2 floors up running like a champ. My DL speed here in dorchester ma is at 172 mbs, and my up is 15 mbs. Its doing exactly what I need it too. Im super pumped and would recommend this unit to anyone having a tough go or that need range.

Bought this product to use for Time Warner Cable (TWC) service, instead of "renting" one from them. We live in a two-storey home and it is in our downstairs area. Office is on the far side of the home, upstairs. Range has not been an issue yet, however, I am contemplating on using a range extender to insure coverage for the whole house.
Set up was easy. No problems yet. I haven't been able to fully utilize all the bells and whistles for this router yet (the mobile apps for monitoring, etc.), due to time constraints, but my main concern of receiving signal is pretty much my only concern, and I'm happy with it so far.

I've only had the NETGEAR - AC1750 for two months, but it seems rock solid so far. I'm using it with TWC for internet service, so I did have some assistance configuring it--installer said it was the first one he had seen and noted that while Netgear was not his "preferred brand," it was a very good spec'd unit. Plenty of wired outlets for networking the main home theater area and very strong AC wireless throughout the house. I have not had to reset at all, except after a power outage to reconnect with a finicky Epson Artisan. Highly recommend this combo unit to avoid rental fees from the cable company and eliminate the need for a separate cable modem and router. Pricier than some competitors, but I wanted to make sure that It was semi future proof. I'm running 50-Mbps through it now, but it is ready for speeds in excess of 300-Mbps. Had a similar Netgear AC router only previously that I used instead of the U-verse gateway for wireless and it was a big improvement over that company's 2-Wire unit. Never had any issues with that one over a three year period. Hoping this unit will have similar longevity.

We rented an Arris from comcast for two years and had nothing but problems,a geek squad member suggested this Netgear and I wish I would have switched out a long time ago. It's Fantastic!!! Lightning fast and we don't need a WiFi extender any more.

I had a 3year old all in 1 surfboard that had started to lag and show its age while streaming video. I purchased a new smart tv with 4k streaming so I decided to upgrade the router to save headaches. Well its was well worth it. The dual band is awesome. Love 5 g on my new tv. Ive had to reset it 1 time in a month. My old one had to be restarted multiple times per week. The signal is excellent. Super easy to set up. When I called to activate the service provider said I would get good speeds with this new router and sure it enough. Its nothing fancy like a nighthawk but it does great for me which is for cell phone wifi, tv streaming, ps4 video streaming, Amazon alexa, hue lights, Amazon firestick.

I used to have a separate router and modem and I had to replaced it. I did some research and spoke to the salesperson and picked up NETGEAR AC 1750. It is easy to setup works very well and has adequate signal strength to reach a 2 level house. I recommend giving it a try if you're looking to upgrade to a faster speed.

The router is an excellent product with amazing signal power. I am able to use all of our wireless devices all throughout our house with ease and no weak signal. I love the dual band option. I can have my two girls stream their music/videos/games on one band while I watch TV on my iPad on the other with no interruption or poor signal quality. The router is also extremely easy to setup and troubleshoot - although I have yet to have any issue that couldn't be resolved by just turning the router off and back on again. This is an excellent product and I would highly recommend it to anyone in need of a router.

I replaced my comcast router/modem with this one and couldn't be happier. The setup was pretty easy and haven't had a problem with it. Once the router is plugged in you will have to call comcast and give them the router info in order for your service to work. If you are looking for a router/ modem to replace your comcast one and stop paying them the monthly fee to rent one this router/modem is a great choice. The upfront cost may scare some, but for what you are renting one for it will pay for itself in a year. For the people who have a larger homes don't worry about signal issues with this router I now have strong signal just about everywhere in my home which is 3800 Sq ft.

Upgraded from DOCSIS 2 to 3 and decided to go with this modem. Setup was extremely easy!! Haven't had any issues and almost tripled my previous down/upload speeds. Wifi works smoothly as well; no hiccups so far. It is a rather large unit and of the more expensive but still highly recommend.

With all the electronic gadgets we have hooked to our old router, it was a guess if anything would stay connected. This router/modem combo has made it easy. We paid $9 a month for the past 5 years, had numerous repair people out and had meltdowns screaming about the internet we pay to much for. Not a problem, much faster and no worries. No drops and even when our daughter is home from college with her phone & tablet, this Netgear Router didn't miss. 2 Printers, 3 smartphones, 4 tablets, 3 computers and a Smart TV. Its just so much easier and I give that piece of junk router we rented for way to long back to the cable company. Netgear has been a trusted brand in our house for years with other products they make. Thanks

I had 50/5 Time Warner Internet and was renting their router-modem combination. The internet was very slow and had intermittent connection issues. I studied and bought this product. It was an excellent choice. It worked flawlessly. I am not a person who wrote reviews. But, I just wanted to take my time and review this product because it really deserves. It will solve your speed and connection issues. The far rooms that have range issue before does not have any problem with the connection now. This product is a beast and it is easy to setup. You will need to call TWC during the setup. But, it will take your 10 minute. Don't worry.

Awesome router - Best Buy Salesperson recommended for my needs a couple years ago and I have never had a problem with my TV or computer. I'm older and a B+/C- on the technical stuff - have to say it was very easy to install and the directions were very clear on set-up and troubleshooting - very seamless for me, actually did it myself!! - made me feel like a B+ on this one!
