So Fast and easy to set up. Beware there is a 5G network that you have to also set the password to, but with new computers and phones the speeds are crazy fast. Just in love with it, great choice.

Ordered this router on Thursday June 7th off Amazon and got it Friday, so far I'm really impressed with the device, I'm getting exceptionally great network speed on big file transfers and excellent range compared to the WNDR3700. I was debating whether to return the WNDR3700v3 I had and keep this one or the other way around, but as as soon as I set this up and upgraded to the latest firmware, I was dead sure which one to keep. The router has been going for 3 days straight without a hitch and hopefully will stay this way, seems pretty stable to me, been streaming HD movies from my main PC to the living room TV and out of my WDTV Live Hub over the network to that TV as well which is over 40 feet away from the router with no buffering at all, amazing! No need to buy a network extender anymore, which had been among my future plans to increase Wi-Fi coverage in the house. At some point today I was streaming Netflix on my bedroom TV and making a full system backup to Acronis Online backup service, while my dad was streaming another HD movie over the network off the main desktop PC, and my relative who is visiting us was using the Guest Network, al this activity simultaneously and all smoothly. Access to my external 500GB hard drive through ReadyShare seems to be faster than ever, same as to streaming content from it, VERY happy with my purchase so far!

We purchased this to replace a failing router. Did a quick check on CNet and found it was recommended for speed and performance. Brought it home and set it up in minutes. We use it for streaming media to TVs, computers, tablets, etc. Our devices that support 802.11ac gained a huge jump in performance. Very noticable. For our other devices I did see an increase in signal strength, in general. Great router and we're very pleased.

The range and speed of this router exceeded my expectations. It's signal easily reaches from basement to third story w/full bars. No problem streaming HD on three devices at the same time w/out lags. Cool antenna design that "tracks" connected devices appropriately focusing bandwidth and signal. Using a 50 mbs connection I consistently test over that speed, wirelessly on latest versions of iPad/iPhone. On my older laptop, the wireless card speed is maxed out, so connection is slower The only downside I see is it's cost. If you're limited by your ISP's speed or not going to use it on newer devices which can take advantage of the technology, I wouldn't pay the extra money.

I replaced a 3 year old Netgear WiFi router with this one. Our home office is on the 2nd floor of the house and the router sits on the desk on the outside wall. My wife likes to work on her MacBook Pro down in the dining room -- kitty-corner from the office and on the first floor. She literally couldn't get any farther away from the router! The "old" Netgear would give her 3 bars out of 5 on the "slow" setting, and 1 out of 5 on the "fast" setting. (It was a dual band.) Occasionally, she'd get fed up and move to the kitchen table, which is "only" halfway across the house on the first floor. With this new router, she happily sits in the Dining room, doing emails, Facebook, and streaming meetings. (Sometimes all at the same time!) Meanwhile, I'm up in the office working on the iMac and streaming Netflix to the Samsung 55" LED HDTV. We also have our iPhones and iPads connected to this beast! Not one issue with signal strength or quality! Love it!

The performance exceeds my expectations. The price is high, but you get what you pay for. My previous router was loosing signal and had poor signal strength, After, installing this router, I felt like I purchased the premium internet package. I can have multiple pages open and the internet will not slow down. It is easy to install, and set up security and block inappropriate websites. I am very satisfied for the price I paid.

I had 2 original netgear r6300s and decided to sell them for an asus rtac66u. But the asus refused to work in bridge mode or with any bridges. I have had zero trouble with the r6300v2s except for having to reboot them every now and again. Much easier setup than the asus plus you can label your ip addresses. Also easier to use Mac filtering. Range and throuhgput are about the same. We cut the cord so we stream everything so they get a good workout yet are up to the challenge

This is a fast router provides offers good range through walls and floors. It has extensive feature allowing control and customization for just about anything a you would need for a home or small office. Setup up was somewhat easy, once you find everything and get used to the interface, it is a snap. The physical size of the router is its biggest downfall, this thing is big compared to other routers, however not so that you can't find a place for it.

I originally got this router about a year ago for my home in VA, to replace the verizon fios router that kept on dropping our connections. I had such a great experience with the first one, that I bought a second one for my home in Ecuador to replace an old wrt54gs. It is so much faster with all devices, regardless of band or rated speeds. This one improves all of those values easily! On the first router, My two fastest systems (802.11n) run on the 5GHz band at an average speed of 216Mbps. One is about 150ft away on the second floor with several walls in between, the other is 90ft away, the opposite direction, second floor and several walls, closets, etc., in between as well. Eventually I'll upgrade them to AC Wireless cards, but for now, these do the trick. For my other router, its positioning is very tricky, and all floors and walls are made out of thick concrete and brick, so I was a bit concerned it wouldn't reach all corners of my home. But this router caught me by surprise! It actually reaches very easily everywhere in my house (5 split level layout, technically 3 stories high). I get signal out in the patio, the kitchen, practically everywhere but the furthest corner of the house. i will solve this on my next trip by repositioning the router on a more central location, but for now, it does what I need. The parental controls are a blessing, as I can filter out content and sites I do not want entering my house. It is very easy to configure and you don't even need to be next to the router to configure it. Using DynDNS, I can do wonders with my routers, as well as to create my personal home clouds. I could keep going on and on about it, but in short, it just works and I am pleased with its performance and features. I haven't used all features, but I know they are there for if and when I do have to use them.

This is an excellent router. The user interface is very easy to understand for someone who has a minimum knowledge about setting up a router. The performance is great. The wireless connection is available anywhere in my home. I had a strong signal 150 ft. away from the router. My internet browsing seems a bit faster compared to my previous router which was a fairly new model ASUS. The "guest" feature is great for privacy. You can use this to allow guests (or certain devices such as smart TV's, Roku, etc.) to have access to the internet through the router but these guest users do not have access to your local area network such as your computers or NAS devices. Also, if you connect an external hard drive to one of the USB ports on the router, all users can access it as shared storage. When you connect an external HDD, it shows up as a network share named "READYSHARE". Finally, about a year ago I had a bad experience with a Netgear router and I was hesitant to give this one a try. I am glad I did and my faith is restored in Netgear. I highly recommend this router.

This Netgear 6300 is an update and upgrade from my previous Cisco Linksys. The older Linksys did fine but was starting to slow down in speed. This new simultaneous dual band works great. I'm just intermediate tech skill level, but set up was pretty easy, including our wireless printer. Signal is very good in my 3 level home and the speed is Awesome..even while the family is using multiple wireless devices.

I have been moving up the router scale for years. First with the early routers, than the N routers, then the N routers. My router is located on the first floor of a two bedroom home and 4 computer users are tied to it and my printers are wireless as well. Each person also has an iPhone which they use the home network to connect to as well. I was needing better performance, both in reach and speed, so I gegan researching routers again. It was pretty easy to determine that the Netgear AC Gigabit router was the most powerful on the market. I wanted the most powerful wireless, but I also wanted to be able to wire directly into it. The Netgear AC Gigabit offered everything I needed. I was hesitant to change. My router worked already and it can be a major headache to change the settings on the computers. I was so pleased when I installed it, not only is the router more powerful, but it has gotten easier to install! It set up like a dream (no disc!) and everything connected right away. I did have to uninstall the printers and reinstall, but that was simple and fast. Great router. Highly recommend it. Also recommend buying in the store, not lonline, so you can see the other routers, their size and their features. The sales people at Best Buy know these routers well. When I grabbed the Netgear AC Gigabit, the sales guy commented, "Oh, you want the fastest router on the market" Of course, i had to up him and I said "I want the fastest, most powerful and I want dual band" :)

I purchased the router to network my devices in my home. My old router had trouble transferring the information from my individual devices, but this router loads very quickly and there is very little lag. I tried several routers to eliminate all lag while streaming a movie from my computer, but could not find one that could stream like Netflix does. As car as connection and Internet speed, I have no problems and my reception has extended to areas of my yard where my connection used to drop. Additionally, I was told by best buy that none of my devices could yet utilize the 5g connection, but most of my devices will connect and seem to stream faster on the 5g band. I was also told the unit was very large, but I found the unit to be reasonably sized. The unit does have a large surface, but it is very thin and fits on my window seal with ease. Overall a great product, but if your not transferring data from device to device I would say you don't need this router.

We recently replaced our router and selected this netgear wireless AC router. I can not say enough about this product...easy to install/set up, excellent speed and coverage. Use multiple devices and can stream videos without issue. This was not the case with the last router we had. Love, love this produce....

Easy to set up and no issues with coverage throughout 4000 square foot home. I have satellite internet, and didn't want a speed issue. The data transfer speeds are awesome, and streaming video service works flawlessly in any room. I'd highly recommend this Netgear router to anyone.

I have owned this Router for about 1 month. Previously I had a Netgear WNDR3700. The range for this R6300 router is an improvement, especially on the 5.0 band. While I have no devices that support the ac standard, we have some friends that do and it is blazingly faster. Because the throughput & range is better on 2.4 and 5.0, I'm seeing much better performance with TV, Iphones, laptops, and ipads in the house. I have a 3100 sq. ft, 1 story house and still require an extender at far end of house. Problem is no "AC" extender available by Netgear as of this review. When setting up through a cable modem, make sure you turn turn off (or reboot) the cable modem when you connect your R6300. This cost me time getting the internet connection working so I pass this tidbit along to you... Oh yes, I love the new design of the router. It looks great and the lights on it are more informative than its predecessor.

I'm a Comcast-Xfinity subscriber who is paying through the nose for premium content and for what I thought would be premium performance - including the W-Fi performance for ALL my Wi-Fi enabled devices. The combined modem/router that Comcast provided me turned out to be a BIG TIME Wi-Fi BOTTLENECK. In fact, MOST of my Wi-Fi devices could either: Not connect to my wireless network at all, or had pathetic Wi-Fi performance...think "spinning progress wheels" and interrupted YouTube viewing over Wi-Fi. One visit to the Geek Squad and they recommended buying this Netgear dedicated router to end my Wi-Fi performance nightmare once and for all. I did, and after minimal setup, my Wi-Fi performance went from terrible (without the Netgear router) to awesome, uninterrupted, near Ethernet cable-wired-directly-to-a-modem performance (with the Netgear router and verified by speedtest.net) The only "hiccup" I encountered was integrating my Apple TimeCapsule (external hard disk/router) back into my wireless network after configuring the Netgear router. It turned out, all I needed to do was reset the Apple TimeCapsule (without losing any backup data), connect the TC to the Netgear router via an Ethernet cable, power on the TC and BAM! the TC was discovered on the Netgear wireless network (using the Apple AirPort utility) and I was back in business using the TC for backups and as a print server. Note: After the first wired TC-to-Netgear handshake/security is established, you can lose the ethernet cable connection from the TC to the Netgear router and go wirelessly between the two. I highly recommend this Netgear router - even for users with pretty demanding Wi-Fi performance requirements...like gaming and streaming. My only regret is that I waited too long to buy this. This isn't the cheapest dedicated router on the shelf, but I can say my Wi-Fi performance is finally what I expect it to be - and it gets a lot of use every single day!

I've been using this router for a few months, and it's excellent. I've gone through a handful of $40 routers before, so I was hesitant to spend so much on this one. However, it's true that you get what you pay for. This one can handle many devices (even when we have a party and give out the the WiFi password to everyone to us on their phones) and we no longer have an issues streaming multiple video services at once. It's also powerful enough that my phone connects the second I pull into the garage! Overall, excellent router.

This was an excellent purchase at Best Buy. It was much cheaper than other stores I checked at the time. Got it home, skimmed the instructions and went to town setting it up. If you aren't doing anything sophisticated during setup it won't take you long to be up and running and still feel secure while online. I am certainly no authority on routers but this one does seem to have plenty of adjustments for the guys that love to tinker to get the best signal possible. I hope it last a long time since according to a program I downloaded I have the highest signal in the neighborhood no matter which channel I'm on or band, either 2.4 or 5.0 Ghz band. Personally I didn't see much of a speed difference which I thought I would but I have 5 devices running all the time and I haven't noticed a bit of lag in any of them.
