It was Easy to set up and all the connections were made without problems. This device is sleek and It takes up very little desk space. I'm happy that it sends out a strong extended signal, and that it is reaching much more area of the home than the previous router.

Having to replace routers every 2-3 years, I've gotten used to going through new setups. This was probably one of the easiest in my opinion. The slight hiccup for me was in figuring out where to find specific options to change but this is more of familiarity issue for me. I found myself spending a lot of time in the dashboard/info gadget for the statistical information. It's a pain having to refresh it constantly, but it is pretty handy info for me (network engineer by trade.) Works great operationally. No issues on the WiFi side in either frequency bands. Gaming works great, but I make sure I'm on the hardwire for that. Same with streaming video to my media player. The GB ports are perfect for that. Overall, I'm more than happy with this router and would replace it with another Netgear in the future.

I purchased the N900 to replace a D-Link 655 10/100 router which served us well since 2006. There has been exponential growth in the number of wireless devices in our home since purchasing the D-Link and it just wasn't keeping up anymore. Our ISP is 100 Mb up/down so in addition to purchasing the N900 I also replaced the 10/100 switch with a GiG-E switch at the demarc. The performance increase is substantial. The N900 was very easy to install. It picked up the printer (HP), a work laptop that is pretty locked down, and was easy to connect apple products to (mainly iPhones and one iPad). And it also discovered half of the wireless networks in my neighborhood that I never saw with the D-Link. I like that it has two channels - 2.4 and 5. And I really like the NETGEAR Genie web app that I installed on my desktop PC (Win 7). It has a graphical UI that lays out every device and IP/MAC connected to the network, similar to an older version of HP OpenView. Overall i've been using the N900 for a month and am very happy with it.

This is my third router in 12 years and the best by far. Installation was a breeze -- I simply connected it, turned it on and in minutes was able to go online. It came pre-set with an acceptable ID and password (which could be changed by the user if desired) and no configuring was necessary. It even has them printed on the label at the back of the router, eliminating the need to copy anything down. It has excellent range over my entire two-story house which is about 60 feet by 50 feet. I haven't tried checked the range outdoors as yet but I expect it would cover the entire yard because the signal is very strong between floors at the furthest distances from the router despite having to pass thick furniture and several walls. A nice product.

This is a very easy to install router that works as described in that it is one of the best routers N wireless routers around. It easily provides ranger over 100 ft. and is faster than my previous N wireless router. I did quite a bit of research before buying as I wanted a really fast/powerful router and I was prepared to pay extra. I get speeds up to 54 Mbps which is up from 30 Mbps from the old router.

After our previous wifi router failed due to lightning, we purchased this one for its range and speed. It was easy to set up and connect to our internet modem and all devices, Works fine

I was advised to get a newer model router by my cable company and Best Buy techs due to continued connection drops with a few of my devices. I got the same brand, but newer with a dual band which has proved to be helpful when I split a few connections. It's easy to follow installation instructions and performs as it should; however, my main problem was losing the connection with my laptop after only a little time unless it's plugged in, and I'm still having to deal with that problem; so the router didn't actually resolve my issue. I just don't have the knowledge to know what's wrong here, but then neither did anyone else I talked to.

My ISP increased my internet speed from 3Mbps to 50Mbps so I upgraded my home network router from a Netgear N300 to the N900 to take full advantage of the increased bandwidth. Router is in my back bedroom and has no problem reaching my laptop and my Xbox in my living room. Easy set-up and I really like the Netgear Genie software for monitoring my network activity. No problems downloading games to my Xbox and watching HD movies on Netflix on my wireless network.

I was using an Lyncsys 1500 until it died, then bought a 1200 model but it stunk. Upgraded to the Netgear dual band and once I figured out how to set it up, It's been Awesome. I handles a Blueray player, Xbox, two phones and two tablets with no problem. The Netgenie sottware is easy to understand. With the Dual Band feature, I setup the Blueray and Xbox on the 2.4ghz to cut down on the delays and buffering when watching Netflicks and or when playing on the Xbox. Very Happy I spent a little more for this model.

I had some problems setting up this router. After 45 minutes of restarts and checking wires the router finally displayed a message that it had a problem with my modem. It then reset its IP address and has worked great since. I would have liked to see the programs I needed on the disk as when there is a problem in setup you can not download the things you need to troubleshoot. It has outstanding coverage(2 story large house) that extends 150 feet to the outbuildings. Performance wise, this is a great router.

My teenage son wanted a faster router for the Wi-Fi so that he could stream music and videos on his iPad while playing online games on his PlayStation. This router works fine for this. We have a 1350 sq. ft. house with my office / the router at one end of the house, and his bedroom at the other end. The signal is full and fast with no lagging in his gaming. The parental tools are a nice bonus, too.

Did not have very much luck with my last Netgear router. I would have to reset it a few times a week because it stopped transmitting. In the middle of my Netflix and chill it would cut out and stop working; very very frustrating. One day it just stopped working completely . I decided to go again with another net gear router for it is simple and easy. I so far have had very good luck with this router. I would highly recommend to someone who wants something reliable and easy to set up.

The Netgear N900 Dual-band router has really performed well since I installed it for wifi service in a two story house. I chose it since it is rated for use with Hughesnet internet service, and the signal is very strong in a large two story house. I receive the highest signals throughout the house, including in the basement areas of the house where my office is located. I would highly recommend this router with use of Hughesnet internet and for larger houses with multiple floors

I really enjoy it. I have had no issues at all with this product. This is my first time owning a WiFi Router versus renting one. It was simple to set up as I am no techie. It was recommended by a gamer as well as a knowledgeable store associate who attends the local university as a lot of their associates do from what I'm told. I am no gamer but want good quality products and performance at a good price. Price was a little more than I wanted to pay but it was competetive so I bought it.

I purchased this router to replace an N600 DGND3700v2 Netgear gateway. This router works excellently. I will tell you of some trivial differences between this router and the 3700, which may also count for other gateways/routers. a. Status lights do not blink. Something I am used to on any modem or router are blinking status lights. The N900 come on and stay on. Nothing big at all, but it did make me wonder if something was wrong the first boot-up. b. In a similar vein, a new feature I have seen is the LAN port lights change color depending on the device connected. For my PC that is connected, the LAN light is green. For my DVR that is connected, the LAN light is orange. The Netgear Genie app/software is a somewhat more fancy version of the Netgear Genie that Netgear users are used to. Once fancy feature of this is a device map showing the devices attached--using animated pictures. Pretty neat. I also like it here in that on this screen you can actually name the device. No more "UNKNOWN" devices and you wondering what the heck it is that is detected, when you know it is a device in your house. One feature I desperately needed and enjoyed on the DGND3700 was the USB ports for additional drives. The N900 also comes with two USB ports for the same purpose, although both slots are in the same place and somewhat close together. This made it a little tedious when I had two external drives connected. If you have large fingers, you may have an issue getting a grip on devices connected, as the connections will be right on top of each other. I have been pleased with the performance thus far. I hope this device has a longer life than the 3700 (which lasted 2 years). The fact that this router actually has a vent gives me hope for longer life. The 3700 did not have a vent, so I image heat damage took it out. All in all, I think the N900 is a good device.

My old router just wasn't cutting it and was dropping my connection frequently. My new Netgear gave me added range, does not drop my connections and provides me with 2 bands, one for my smart phone etc and one for my pcs, laptops. Installation was quick and painless. Routers have come a long way since the old days it would seem.

When I bought it, I did not realize how much better Dual Band was compared to my old single band unit. I put my phones and tablet on the 5GHz band and my PC on the 2.4 GHz band (it does not receive 5GHz). Speeds on the 5GHz are fantastic; speed on the 2.4 GHz is better than my old single band Netgear router. If you have several devices, Dual Band is a must! Go for it!

This was very easy to install. Very impressed with the instructions and how easy it was to install. The router works well and have had no problems with it since installation. I have always been impressed with the quality and pricing of NETGEAR products. There were other brands more expensive but this in my opinion was the better product for the price!
