I recently purchased the RAX48 to eliminate the monthly rental fee from Comcast. The process from setting it up to using was very straightforward and easy, that I’m disappointed I hadn’t done it sooner! Connecting all of the devices was simple, and the Nighthawk app is incredibly intuitive and informative. The app allows me to not only see the what’s connected, but the Armor Security feature and the ability to add Bitdefender Security gave me added peace of mind that my connected devices were protected from the multitude of cyber threats. Highly recommend the router and the app!

Purchased this router after Netgear R8000 became unreliable after 5 good years. Easy to assemble and setup. Great speeds both wired and Wi-Fi. Currently have 500mb Internet service. Highly recommend rebooting all devices then connecting. My Samsung A71 was getting horrible speeds, 50-60mb until rebooting phone. Now getting 325mb in basement at furthest location from router. Approx. 3,000 sq. ft. home and good signal everywhere. App is a little finicky, but can access setting online. Purchased at 1/2 price, $149.99..it's a steal. Highly recommend!

Good Upgrade for gaming/several connections

Made this purchase during black friday at half the price so that was a win. I only upgraded for 2 reasons, 1- The coverage in my home was improved as my game systems are on the other side of the house where I have this hooked up. 2- The new systems (PS5 and Xbox Series X, new laptops) seem to work faster on WiFi 6. I have several smart home electronics that stay connected and it was bogging down my speeds. This router can handle several connections without slowing down.

This router has exceeded my expectations tremendously. Quick and easy set up with NETGEAR Nighthawk application and easy to follow instructions. The router has great range and continues to give all my connected devices incredible speeds . Having multiple computers , cellphones , tablets , smart TV’s and gaming consoles in one home this router was needed . Has not failed me and my family and continues to perform flawless for our everyday needs.

With the WiFi 6 and the range that this thing puts out it is amazing. I am finally getting true to what I pay speeds with my internet (1gb) and most of the time getting over that. It was super easy to set up, had it up and running in 10 minutes after all firmware updates were installed etc. I would buy this again and definitely would recommend to my friends and family

Good Router For around $150

In a nutshell, based on the price I paid ($149) I'd say this is a good router. Had it cost much more I'd have given it 3-stars. It was easy to setup, and the IOS app works well, but I find myself using the interface anyway. It looks.... like a router, they arent styled to blend in anymore just look wilder and wilder. But compared to some, this is a restrained design.
My biggest complaint is that every 2-3 weeks the router will just lose connection to the internet, Im not sure if its the WAN port, or something in the router blocking the traffic as the wireless still works? A quick reboot fixes it right up. But my old TP-Link Archer AC1200 router didn't have this issue.
Speed and performance are good. I dont game wirelessly so I didnt need a top of the line device, and this works well for browsing and streaming on multiple devices at the same time. I saw a slight increase in performance over my old router, but not night and day, but to be fair my ISP connection is around 120mbps. We have 14 wireless devices in the house and Ive yet to have any issues with performance or any being dropped from wifi. The Ethernet performace is solid and consistent.
It has an average set of features like USB port, 5- 1-gig Ethernet ports and basic networking/security features.

I'm not an IT expert but not a complete novice. This was pretty easy to set up and create 5GHz, 2.4 GHz, and guest networks. The range is good and I get a lot fewer dropped devices than with my old router.
The speed is good as far as I can tell and I'm running a VPN and RDP for work with little or no lag.

I have this Netgear Nighthawk Router working with my 3.1 Motorola Modem and it is a beast. This combination helps me with so many electronic gadgets in my house, all the way from 3 smart tv's to 4 video game consoles, plus 3 phones, tablets, all connected at the same time and have no connectivity issues. I am using Mediacom for Internet service.

Amazing NETGEAR Nighthawk AX5200 Router

I am normally not the one to write reviews, but I thought I’d give my opinion on this router.
We recently purchased this NETGEAR Nighthawk AX5200 router to replace our previous NETGEAR Nighthawk R6700v2 router and the difference was immediate! The set-up was clear and installation process was streamlined. I will say to take your time when putting on the antennas properly and setting up the router - you will see the noticeable difference in your home. No more dead zones or laggy Zoom calls!
We always thought our internet was the problem, but turns out it was our old router. My family and I have connected many devices to it and it’s going strong with faster speeds. This was an amazing purchase for the sale price of $150 and I’m satisfied with the purchase!

Great Wifi6 router

I work as a technician for an internet company so I have a lot of experience with routers and how to tell when the issue is your network equipment or your internet provider. I have had this router for almost a year now and it has worked great. I recommend installing this in the middle of your house and on the main floor you spend most of your time. Don't hide this in a cabinet if you can help it, and if your internet provider wants to put your modem in your basement pay whatever you need to in order to get a line ran to the center of your house (this may be included in your install of your internet depending on your provider).
That said. This router is super fast, especially if you have a device that is compatible with Wifi6 (most new cell phones will). If you have older wifi devices this will be the same speed as Wifi5 but at least you will be future proof for any new devices you may upgrade. The 2.4GHz wifi6 (the slower wifi that goes farther on Wifi5) is more than double my old Wifi 5 2.4GHz. You will still want to be on the 5GHz Wifi6 for all of your devices as it will be even faster but it's nice to have the option!

This router is awesome. Setup was super simple. Just download the app and scan the QR code on the router and you’re almost done! Router is Wifi6 capable and was a HUGE upgrade on my old router. I went from buffering and being frustrated with my old router to now having lightning fast wifi with my new Netgear Nighthawk!

Netgear encourages you to use their app to setup the router. This did not work for me, instead I had to use my computer to connect to the router and set it up. Don't forget to update the router's firmware ASAP after setting it up.
Once it's set up, this router is super fast, and the coverage is surprisingly wide, I don't need my wifi extender for the 2nd floor anymore.
This router has a lot of extra features, however none of them is available unless you pay for Netgear's subscription! If you want parental control, added security, view the usage history, or other features, the $300 you paid for the router is not enough, you have to pay Netgear an additional 100$ a year. Keep this in mind before you buy it.

This is my 3rd Nighthawk router and I couldn't be more pleased with it. I really didn't even need to upgrade from my 3200 but I saw this on the deal of the day for $149 and couldn't resist at that price! Range and speed are off the charts. Perfect for gaming or streaming. You'll never have to worry about anything buffering again..

works great, gave it 4 stars because the app you have to download and use is awful!!! I feel it is easier to connect and type 192.168.1.1 in the web browser and go to setting to set it up. Would have had it started up 10 times faster! YOUR APP SUCKS NETGEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe use 2 methods is stead of making you default to the app. Some people won't know how to setup without an app, but some people do. Setting up my other routers was a cinch. THIS WAS NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BTW my other router was the netgear ax1800 and failed me or degraded within 6 months, i hope i don't have the same problem with this one!

I was not looking forward to installing this new router. I used to connect my TRS 80 Model 1 to the internet with a phone line. The self install was simple. In 20 minutes I was getting 400 Mb down anywhere in my 2000 sq ft home or yard. The included security software helped me identify weaknesses in my network. I am happy with my purchase.

I picked up this router because I was looking for my own router since my home has a lot of heavy data users and this would allow me to have my own uninterrupted signal. I wanted something on the more powerful end to handle high demands for pc gaming and downloads. The router is placed on the other side of my home, about 100 feet away from my computer, give or take 15 feet, and still downloads at the max capped speed of my internet signal. I got this for 150 dollars which is about half price so this was definitely worth the buy. The setup is extremely easy with the app. As long as you have a smartphone. I highly recommend downloading the app to your phone before doing any setup. It walks you through the process and makes it very easy. The performance is way more than I need so I can’t say how well it works with faster than one gigabit download speeds, but I’m sure it can handle it just fine. Definitely worth the money when it’s on sale. Don’t listen to the other reviewers on here saying it’s hard to set up. Just download the app and it’s a breeze to monitor and adjust as well. This was my first router I set up myself so I’d say it can’t get any easier if I can do it.

An absolutely awesome router. Setup was easy and the router is easy to manage with the Nighthawk app. Many routers drop the speed on Wifi, but not this one. My older Netgear AC1900 was also one of the few routers that didn't drop the speed on Wifi, but it topped out at about 20 devices. Whenever, I turned on my backup notebook, I'd lose the internet. Or it would become very unstable.
I don't have a big house but I do have quite a few smart devices such as as 4 cell phones, a Galaxy watch, and over 20 other smart devices. So far the Nighthawk app shows 28 devices. Most of these devices are always on and the AX5200 does not drop the internet and even better, there is no apparent drop in speed. I plan to add 2 more devices and I hope the router will maintain stability. Netgear support was fast and great when I talked with them. The support rep seemed confident that the router would be ok with adding more devices. Apparently, my devices are ones that don't take up a lot of bandwidth. They advised me to contact them should I run into problems. We'll see. So far, a great product!
