Setup for this modem was a piece of cake and had no issues with my ISP (Suddenlink). Wired in I get my full gigabit of speed. Couldn't ask for more!

I purchased this modem to replace an older, but still working, Motorola SB cable modem, as the latest speed tiers from my providers require new modems to get their full speeds. The process of replacing the modem was easy, as I just had to call my ISP and give them the relevant numbers off the back of the modem so they knew about the device and could activate their service. I pay for a 200 Mbps download cable service, and this modem actually gives me anywhere between 230-240 Mbps depending on time of day and testing site, so it gets the full 5 stars.

Works perfect for our home networking system needs. It is fast and so far very reliable. No outages or needing a lot of resetting.

This is a great modem when it works. Mine started dropping connections and loosing internet connection after 3 weeks. Called the Comcast guys, the came checked the signals. Every thing looked good. He said the modem went bad. Called Netgear and they sent replacement after 3 hours on the phone with their techie; luckily I had purchased for $29.99 a 2 year warranty. I have gigabit internet and this modem gave me 945 mbps that’s the fastest. I had tried a Motorola mb8600, did not go above 700mbps. In the mean time I got an Arris SB8600 this is a rock solid modem not as fast as the Netgear CM 1000, but gave me a max of 860 mbps. To mention I have Netgear Nighthawk ad7200 router or Also known as R9000, which is awesome, gives upto 600 mbps on the 5ghz WiFi no matter which modem I used so I am sticking to Arris SB8600 for now. If you want the fastest modem for gigabit speeds then go for this, but make sure you buy the extended warranty.

Researched, and got exactly what I expected. Netgear has been my choice of options, and never had regrets. One of the Modems recommended by cable company, and it's a Netgear. Speed went from 30-40mps,to 70-90mps. Wifi Route test Speed 190-210mps. Product support, Product setup, Product quality, If it works, Don't Fix it. Not the top of the options available, but hey, definitely top Product.

Upgraded from an older arris sb6141. Increased speed by at least 20-30mb/s. Need to activate with ISP to work and make sure there weren't any filters installed in the house.

I purchased a Motorola MB-8600 modem from Best Buy and it was fast and seemed to work great at first. Then, over the first 24 hours it dropped my internet connection (Comcast) four or five times. Returned it and bought this Netgear CM-1000. Just as fast and has not dropped the connection once yet in 2-1/2 days. The Best Buy website does not give me an opportunity to submit a review for the Motorola MB-8600, presumably because I returned it. This is a questionable practice, because it prevents negative reviews from customers who are sufficiently dissatisfied to return a product.

Super easy set up, has all the features I need, and ready for the future as it is a 3.1 modem that works great with my gigabit subscription. Would highly recommend!

Had to upgrade my modem to enhance internet speed to 1G. My current router was superior to the modem/router combo offered by Cox Cable. Purchased the Netgear since it was the only real choice I had on the shelf at the local Best Buy (did not want to wait for delivery). I've had good luck with Netgear in the past but it's always nice to have a choice. So far, no problems and works great. Internet speed is pushing the maximum that can be delivered to my location without fiber being run. I would recommend this modem over the rental of items from cable company. It is better quality and more reliable.

Performed as expected. Great coverage. Definitely worth the money spent.

I have only had my modem for about a month, so I can't give it a full 5 stars. However, setup was easy, and I look forward to getting the Netgear router to see how they both work together. For now it works well with my current router. My speeds are actually faster!

I work from home and due to ongoing issues with my ISP's modem constantly dropping my connection to work I decided to buy my own modem. I already have Netgear's RAX80 router and like their products. This seemed to be a good match up and I have not been disappointed. I have gone from multiple lost connections or interruptions per week to rarely now (unless they have a major outage). Running a ping test I can see the packet loss but with this modem the connection never drops whereas with the ISP provided modem it was a given. I am highly satisfied with this device.

This is a great Modem if you have very fast internet. This is basically for 1 Gig connection's. If you just have basic internet this is overkill. Just be careful if you do get this. It is not a WiFi Modem. It dies not let you connect wirelessly to it. It is also not a router, it will not let you connect anything other then one thing to it. I have it going into a wireless router. That is the only way you can get WiFi. So you have to buy a router if you do not already own one.

It has only been in use for about 3 weeks, but it is running strong and I love the fact it will handle up to 1 gbps in case I ever want to go that high.

Easy to setup. Fast with 3.0 compatible systems and ready to go when 3.1 comes to our area. Especially like the extra ports

Easy to install and connect all my devices. Speed is as fast as my provider supply's.
