Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Nighthawk X4 AC2350 Smart Wi-Fi Dual-Band Wireless-AC Router's impressive range, ease of use, and strong signal, leading to better performance and reliable streaming. Many appreciate the improved coverage and connectivity it provides throughout their homes. While some find the router expensive and large, positive experiences with setup and a lack of lag outweigh these concerns for most users. A few users reported issues with the firmware, but these seem to be less common than positive reviews.

We replaced a Comcast rental modem/router with this unit and a separate router. Router is located and main level of two story with basement. We have a strong signal throughout the entire house, and virtually no speed reduction when on wifi vs. being hardwired. Have had in place for approximately a month, and couldn't be happier with the purchase.

I recently upgraded to Xfinity Blast 150mbs. My old Netgear router was maxing out at about 30mbs no matter what I changed in the configuration of my network. Bought the Nighthawk AC2350. Now I am getting 180mbs speeds anywhere in my 2300 square foot house. (Note: Had to upgrade my cable model to a 16x4 channel modem also). The Netgear Genie makes it easy to configure your network and I love the VPN features. So awesome!

Router was easy to setup and configure. Range of network improved immensely over the Comcast router I was using. Also supports the numerous devices that are constantly on my network (5 phones, 3 tablets, 2 gaming systems, 2 laptops, 2 PC's, 1 smart tv) - old router couldn't handle this load. Love the DLNA media server feature where you can hook up a usb drive to router and it can stream your media on your network.

This router produces a very strong signal and is relatively easy to setup. We have a guest house that the router reaches although the signal is weaker. I have had problems with a loss of connection to the internet. The software called the Genie that comes with the router, went through a recovery process and restored the link. I don't know the exact problem or the resolution, but connection to the internet was restored.

This was my first time going from the 100$ to 200$ router and the difference is notable in range and speed. I have not yet figured out which devices run best on the 5 Ghz frequency. It seems as though devices tend to jump on to the 5 Ghz even when the device may not have the hardware to take advantage of it, and occasionally it runs slower. I often force my devices off the 5 Ghz frequency.

This router does exactly what it says it will do, and it was quite easy to set up. The house is a 4,000 square foot two-story building with computers at one end of the ground floor (where the router is) and one at the other end of the upper floor. Lot of walls, so I thought there might still be a problem. I was wrong. Signal at the other end is all bars. Expensive, but it does the job.

This thing is a waste of time and money. The first one I bought I instantly had issues setting up. All of the back end pages were loading like a slug, 40 seconds to more than a minute to load each setup page with 404's here and there. I upgraded the firmware and still the issues were present. On top of that any computer or tablet/phone on the 2.4 ghz would only transfer data at 1-10 megabits a second once setup. In network transfers included would max out at 10 megabits while the computer says excellent signal and a 150megabit connection. On the 5.0ghz band I had disconnects already in the 2 days I had the router and innetwork transfers would range from 20-30 megabits despite saying a 400+ megabit connection. If I wired the computers in I had full speed LAN/Internet speeds. I exchanged the router because netgear support said the slow loading backend pages were not normal and definitely the routers fault. The second one didnt have the slow loading back end, but did have the slow internet/intranet transfers issue. I researched it and came across lots of people with similar issues and many complaining about netgears lack of effort in releasing working firmware... in fact they said I should downgrade firmware to get certain features working and had a list of broken features netgear needs to address. I opted to try the OpenWRT firmware/software which is advertised on netgears website... only problem is that once I installed that firmware the 2.4 ghz band would not enable. I tried everything, it just wouldnt turn on. I restored the firmware back to netgears and the one people recommended on their forum and just dealt with the slow speeds until I had time to return this one. However, overnight the 2.4ghz band disappeared and the internet connection was lost on the other band/wired ports. This thing is not ready for sale and on the forums where months go by without fixes, people are starting to assume netgear has given up on supporting this router already. A big issue it seems is that netgear doesnt make the wireless chips and relies on the company making them to release updated drivers to fix issues. Youll probably notice any router with 1700+ megabit 5.0 band is having a number of terrible reviews and my guess is they have the same chip in them. Oh, and I suspect I will get a response from the manufacturer on this review, however I have already emailed the address they post and never got a response. I was unhappy with netgear support when I called. I switched to a Linksys AC router which doesn't support 1700+ megabit wireless, but has reliability instead. Also worth noting, my previous router was a netgear R7000 nighthawk, which did work reliably for 1.5 years for me - the netgear genie setup is exactly the same, except the R7000 didnt take minutes to load pages with 404's in the back end.

Strong signal all over my large 2-storey house, plus it was super easy to set up and connect all my devices. My only quibble is the pre-set password that is not so easy to change after setup. IMHO, you should be required (or at least given the specific opportunity) to change the password during setup.

So far, there is not a single negative feature tied to this router. This router is great! Fast download and upload speed capabilities resulting in less buffering/ lag on anything I use. The features that come along with this router are perfect and extremely user friendly. Great router for gaming and streaming on multiple devices at the same time. Two thumbs up!

Needed to upgrade our router due to the number of devices we have online. This router works great and gives us no issues. The setup was surprisingly easy and we had it up and working in no time. Works seamlessly with our Netgear Wireless extender as well. Would definitely purchase this product again. Size was not an issue for me, especially at the price point.

If you want Next Gen AC coverage then this is for you. Amazing router with lots of bonuses that will give you what you need. Enough ports on the router to add storage and sharing to your network. Once connected you will see the difference in your home. Very powerful signal that will give you coverage around the house.

I bought this intimidating looking router to improve my wi-fi access throughout our house. As scary as it looks, it was not hard to set up. I guess it does give us a better signal than our old one, but I haven't noticed anything outstanding about its performance. Still, a good, solid signal and easy install.

I'm loving the range of this router and the Dynamic QOS, I was able to connect all my devices and assign priority to my phone and computer to ensure I always get good connection and the kids lower priority so it doesn't affect what i doing when they start going online. the Dynamic QOS also prioritizes based on content/app so video streaming will get better priority so you're not sitting there buffering. I read a lot of reviews before buying this and was looking at the Linksys WRT-1900 AC as well, but ended coshing this one because the hardware specs were much better and Linksys is not what it used to be. I've owned products form both and have to say my old Liksys WRT-54G is the best router ever made, before Linksys was sold off and ruined by Cisco. I also read some owner having issues witht he 5GHz band dropping connection, I feel like im also having this problem, but havent focused on it since its so fast. I will be calling support this week to troubleshoot, they come with 90 day full phone support so I will be using them while I can.

Right now my ability to push this router is limited by my slow internet speed (15mbps). However, it will get pushed to the limit once I move next month and start my xfinifty 75 Mbps Internet. I have it set up as a cloud storage on a 1TB hard drive. Only issue I have with that is you can't stream movies wirelessly from the NAS but if you connect through LAN you can. It would be nice to be able to "stream from your home cloud." I like the dual channel as my laptop runs on 2.4 and my apple products run on 5. Even with 15 Mbps Internet, the router is smart enough to allocate bandwidth so I can play games online and stream Netflix simletaneously. No buffering from Netflix and very minimal lag while gaming. I'd give it 5 stars if I could see what it does with the 75mbps internet but all in all a great router

After having repeated Internet shut downs and slow loading with the N900 netgear router I purchased this one and found my signal strength to the farthest point was max along with have several units hooked up on the wireless network I couldn't be happier. Fast download is a huge plus!!
