Has wall mounting option I used to mount to wall where all my internet, cable and phone are set up. No problems with signal strength and has reduced the buffering when streaming. The old router was constantly needing to be rebooted making it unreliable. I have about 20 wireless devices on the network in addition to 3 wired, No issues.

Bought to replace one of the original Nighthawk routers as well as a Linksys WRT1900AC. The Linksys stopped functioning, conveniently after warranty had expired so save your money as their products have become total garbage. The first Nighthawk still worked but was not giving good throughout for my 200MB fiber optic connection. The best it could do over Wifi was in the 120 range. The X4S delivers a consistent 195-205 with excellent range. I have around 10 devices connected with the XB1 and PS4 both hard wired, so I can't speak to how well it handles more than 10 devices. If you are looking for an elite router that provides outstanding speeds and stability then save your money on the overfeatured and overpriced Tri-band models and go with the X4S R7800 and you won't be disappointed.

I have utilized a variety of Wi-Fi routers. Many writers seem to have issues over distance and or with the number of devices connected to them. We actually replaced the router that came with our fiber optic internet connection with this matter. We were hoping that the speeds would not degrade too much. We have found that we can have many devices connected and the speeds are almost as fast as they are when we are direct connected. There seems to be no data loss with multiple devices. Set up is easy and customization is easy. We have had this for a couple months now and I am very happy with it.

This is a great router. It has two bands so I set my tv and laptops to run off of one. Then I set up my iphones and ipads to run off of another. great improvement in range and connectivity. Easy set up too.

Replaced a R7000 that lasted 3 years, that didn't like a couple power surges. Probably a pretty good time considering the number of devices in our house. This R7800 is definitely faster and can handle our data requirements better than the R7000 did. Right now we have 5 phones, 3 Rokus (wire cutter), two PS3's, 5 computers, and an iPad. This thing works 18+ hours per day, and keeps chugging. Covers a decent sized 4 bedroom house with 5Ghz, except one bedroom has to drop to the 2.5Ghz side (other end of house, up stairs). The iPad usually gets 40-50 mbps down on the Wi-Fi. Hard wired computer gets 150+ mbps routinely, with a 300mbps connection. The router gets a work out.

I worked with a router for 3 years. I manged best I could for a while! However, I began to see major issues with ping in game and it was time for an upgrade. This router was more upgrade than I could have asked for! The speed is perfect for a device heavy home like mine! I have 2 PCs, 3 laptops, 2 tablets, Apple TV and 2 phones used in interchangeable combos! I play Rocket League often and even when my wife is watching Netflix and using laptop phone we see great connection and speeds across the board! Some of the best features are included on this router and work as expected! And it definitely doesn't hurt that the overall design is beautiful sitting on my shelf!

I have always been a faithful Netgear customer. I bought this unit to replace my old Netgear WiFi router. Actually there was nothing wrong with my existing router other than the range. This new one has a wider range and greater security features as well as being much easier to set up with the Genie app. My family does A LOT of gaming and we have quite a few WiFi devices connected to our network. (5 smart TVs, 3 laptops, 4 cell phones, 2 iPads and 6 Amazon Fire tablets). Traffic seemed to be slow when we had most of them were streaming videos or multiple PCs playing online games. So far we have not experienced any lag. Yet again another great Netgear product!

Was very easy to set up. Performs very well and the quality of service working with the bandwidth available and every device gets its equal share of Internet and local bandwidth. Highly recommended router, to even somebody that's inexperienced with routers/networking, there is a setup wizard that makes everything very easy to get up and running about a minute to set it up and have it running. Also, there's the genie app that works great, router has the option to work as a cloud service to backup/store your information from your phones laptops or other devices. Pretty future proof. Great purchase, definitely recommended.

Great Router, easy install. This router is very easy to install and has great WiFi range. I have 10 plus items needing WiFi (from iPhones, tablets, TVs, printers, etc..), they are located on multiple levels in our home and all receive WiFi signal without lag or disruption.

1, fast - check! 2. easy to setup - check! 3. distance factor from router - check! - the ONLY issue I have run into is - separate user logins cannot be setup to access to the usb attached harddrive(s). Hence the reason for the 4 stars and not 5.

I could not believe the difference this made in my home wifi and internet speeds. both hard wired into the unit and wirelessly connected to the system. my old speed were around 45 to 50 mbps now I am getting 65 to 73 mbps. connection to internet has not been better.

Had to replace my netgear from 2006. I have a lot of devices to connect now as opposed to then, including a few that stream live tv. So I picked this one up. Very easy to set up and with no issues. Everything works great and I have good speeds. Great router so far.

With the router/modem combo my isp provided. I couldn't get the speeds my they claimed I could. And after having several devices connected it would all but crash. After doing weeks of research. I found this to be exactly what I was looking for. After serious thought of putting so much towards a router. I took the plunge. And I couldn't be happier. I now get the 200 Mbps my isp claimed they offered. I have 5 phones, 2 tvs, 1 Xbox, 1 computer and a DIRECTV box with 3 genies piggy backing off of it. And they all work flawlessly. Combined with the netgear CM500 modem I paired with it. Very happy customer here.
