This one was recommended to me from a Best Buy Employee. I wanted a Router that I wouldn’t have to replace in a couple of years and could handle 4K TVs and multiple users on it without affecting the speed . The distance for WiFi is amazing !!!!

Awesome upgrade to my standard ISP provided router. Excellent speed, range, and connectivity. Only a little over a month but no firmware problems or resetting.

I have been looking to update my wireless router for quite a while. I wanted something that would have a good range to work all over my house and in the back yard if possible. I was very pleased to find the range exceeded my expectations and works even out to my detached garage. The setup was easy as well. I had wifi up and running within 10 minutes. I like the feature to manage QoS, guest wifi access, and wifi timers right from a smart phone. I feel like this is pretty future proof too. No need to update this again for a while. Very happy with this purchase.

Full disclosure: I'm a web developer so the ease which I set this up may not apply to you. I still think it would be easy for anyone though. Not only is it super fast, allowing me to use my steam link wirelessly (it didn't work well at all with my old router), but I have done a few other cool things with this router. I was pretty easily able to set up Dynamic DNS so I am able to host a web server from my home on Time Warner Cable Home Internet. I've had really no problems with this thing, it is super fast and the settings are very easy to navigate. Highly recommend!

We have a long distance from the router that is on one side of the house all the way to our bedroom at the other end of the house and the modem/router her that we were renting from Wave could not reach that far. We tried to boost the signal for some product we found at Cosco, but I totally did not work at all. We decided to buy a router and the guy at Best Buy suggested this one. After going online and configuring the settings it worked amazingly well and now we have full strength signals not only to the bedrooms but to the opposite side of the yard! Yippee!!

Thought about going with the bigger and better version but realized the specs on this router was more than enough for 5 devices streaming and surfing at the same time not to mention reaching areas that used to have weak signals.

This router was very easy to set up and connect to my office network. It serves the purpose of creating a firewall between my internet feed and my law firm’s network. We share the internet feed with others so this was essential.

I dont know about all the ways of benchmarking network devices, but with this router, I get what I pay for. Online bandwidth testing reports back the speeds I am paying for. Signal is immense with the antennas and very strong.

The included software and site support made set-up very smooth and problem-free. Replacing a much older router of a different brand, I expected the need to resolve conflicts, but none occurred. In addition, where my old router had trouble delivering the maximum connectivity, the Nighthawk X4s always delivers a solid connection to all my wireless devices. The power of the on-board processor and USB 3.0 is the main reason I opted for this model.

This router is very fast. My previous router would have frequent periods of slow network speed requiring rebooting. This router doesn't require this at all. I especially like the software and configuration options.

This router is a little speed demon! Setup was a little time consuming because of the way Netgear Genie hangs when you need to specify a static IP for your internet connection (it seems to expect residential DHCP and keeps trying to automatically configure). All you need is a little patience—once you get your internet connection configured this thing is incredibly fast and easy to use. Range is spectacular. The lights are a bit bright but there is an option to disable the various network lights if desired. I subtracted 1 star because of the lack of DHCP server options. All Netgear allows you to configure is the IP range. Lease time and DNS servers are hard-coded.

Bought this to replace my second generation Apple AirPort Extreme, which was always good to me. After ending up in a new neighborhood with only DSL, I hadn't noticed its age. After cable lines were installed, it was obviously faster internet. Still it seemed slower than I expected. After I picked up the Nighthawk, the change was noticeable. Speed test went for ~10-13 up to 32-35GBPS under current package. Easy setup.

I purchased this router because my sons have complained about not being able to use wi-fi at home and their play station pauses a lot. This has eliminated that except for the occasional buffering pause. I have not used all the capabilities it has yet. I would recommend this. Range is good, my phone or tablet picks up out in the yard easily. I am not a computer expert but found this very easy to understand. The sales guys were even impressed with this router and said they really liked the product and highly recommended it.

Bought this to replace my gateway from Comcast... Better connectivity, Better Range and faster speeds.. Definitely worth the money

I was having trouble getting wifi signal on my back porch with my standard Linysys AC router. Went to my local store and talked to a very knowledgeable staff member and he said this would do the trick, Was he ever right, this router gave me full 3 bar signal where I previously got one bar if the wind blew the right way!! Great product and yes it's a bit pricy but if you want reliable signal it's worth every penny.

The NETGEAR - Nighthawk X4S Wireless-AC Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router is fast. I wanted a speed upgrade and I wanted to control the antennas. This unit gave me both. I am not sure that being able to adjust the antennas really helps, but it makes me feel like I have some control. :) My router sits directly behind all of my kitchen appliances. What a perfectly awful location! Thanks big cable company who's name shall not be spoken. This unit still puts out a great signal.

Antennas have great range. User interface and setup both easy to use while offering good advanced options. Great router if you're also in need of sold Parental Controls.

Purchased this as an upgrade to an overworked Asus wireless router I had. No more CPU, memory, drop-outs, etc. This thing handles everything I throw at it and the coverage expansion was a wonderful bonus.

I had previously used a Netgear router which I honestly was never very impressed by. I switched to Linksys several years back and I never really looked back as I was very satisfied with my last two Linksys routers. I was in the market for a new router this year and after some extensive research of the best routers available on the market. (Asus, Linksys etc). A lot of review were pointing at the Netgear nighthawk series of routers. So I decided to take the plunge and give Netgear another shot. Boy did I make the right choice. This router has amazing range and has never dropped the connection on any of my numerous devices I have connected to it at one time. The router is quite large but never really gets hot, which is a big contrast to every other router I've owned. I looks and feels like a well made product and I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family. Pick this thing up if you looking for a good gaming/streaming router, you won't regret it.
