Used this and a new modem to get rid of the garbage default one issued by TWC. Range is absolutely amazing. No speed loss and in fact this combo runs a tad bit faster than the stock TWC issued combo. Love it.

The X8 has performed very well since installation. The unit was also very easy to install and setup. I am using the smart connect feature which seems to increase throughput quite a bit over independent wireless names. The only small issue that I have encountered was the video doorbell I have requires the cell phone to be on the 2.4 GHz for setup, and even with the router in the basement, I cannot get my phone to connect to the 2.4 over the 5. Its a good problem to have I guess.

We recently needed to replace our router and have been really satisfied with this one. Works for the entire house and the speed is really good throughout.

This is a $400 router. It's supposed to the best one out there. I wanted to get blazing speed and it's just not there. Granted, it blows a signal throughout my long house and does not need an extender, but the speed is just a bit more than what I had with an Apple Airport Extreme and Extender. Then there was the fiasco with my printer. It was not "smart" enough to work with the router...HP did not know what to do, but NetGear worked with me for over an hour before the printer would work. NetGear came thru with support. I just wish it had been "plug and play" which it was not.

I love the range and speed of this routers 5GHz band. It allows me to transfer between my laptop and DIY NAS on my LAN. I was having issues with throughput on my old router and this solved it. But, the 2.4GHz band seems to be having issues. I cannot see or connect to it! This should be resolved with a firmware update at a later date, but at the time of this review it is not working at all. Thankfully 99% of my devices run on the 5GHz band so I am okay with it.

This device is great, it punch the signal thru the walls and each every corner on my house. This device solved my problem. I'm a satisfied customer.

It seems to be working ok, however, I have had to reset my router a couple of times. I expected it to be much better than my old Netgear router. I did notice some improvements. I seem to have a little better range with my iPad, it seems a little faster and seems to need less resets, So, overall, it's better than my old router, but I expected more - especially for the price.

Purchased this router because old one could provide strong signal for upstairs. Installed router, was easy, connected all my devices, no problems. Signal upstairs is full bars. Love this router

I bought this router to replace an older model I had been using for the last few years. I really needed one that would output the top speed I get from Comcast as well as have the range to reach my home office, which has always been a challenge in the past. This met and exceeded my expectations! Works great for gaming, downloading, and streaming 4K content! Highly recommend if you need something to super charge your digital experiences!

This wireless router has covered my entire house, 3 floors. Fast connection. No need for wireless expanders in your house with the Nighthawk.

Bought this router to augment our wireless network and found it to be a lot better at covering our weak areas. Used a CAT 5 cable run to use the old router as an AP and coverage is GREAT!

I have a lot of devices on my network and my new fiber internet wasn't being used to it's potential with my old router. This one can run all my devices, my NEST, my HUE lights, everything.

I have had lots of intermittent issues with various wifi routers up to and including AirPort Extreme. Netgear 8500 had ended my problems and provided reliable high speed connections.

Upgraded from a two year old router from a different manufacturer and WOW what a difference! Easy setup, easy monitoring, and easy on the fly configuration. A phone app makes checking status easy and for more advanced tinkering there's an easy to use web interface. The speeds of this router are outstanding easily allowing me to use the maximum thruput that's available from my cable modem. And the looks are out of this world.

Love it. Took abut if tinkering with external antennas to get the entire house blanketed with wifi, but it did cover everything. Easy setup. Angle all antennas ~45° to get 2nd floor

Internet access in my 2000sqft home has been awesome since this purchase. I haven't had to reset and reconnect since installing this. Though it is a little pricey, it is worth it.
