Junk
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the most overly complicated mess I have had for home. Works great if you create a wireless mesh network. God help you if you need to hard wire it. The mobile app interface is garbage. Took it back and bought two more airport extremes. It took me less time to set up the three Airports than it did to unbox the orbi.

Not worth the trouble
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this product for about 6 months. For the 1st month it worked ok. Since then it has been constantly dropping devices. I’ve called customer support to no successful resolution. Unfortunately, it is outside of the return window. Save yourself the trouble and choose a different product.

Do not buy
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wish I could give this zero stars. One of the worst experiences I ever had is owning this and trying to deal with Netgear customer service. Buyer beware do not get this or anything that Netgear makes unless you want to throw money away.

Best solution for signal issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a larger home (4000+ Sq Ft) and have had mixed results with high end wireless routers and signal boosters. After installing the Orbi, I now have seamless wireless in every corner of my home with no slow down. I did some research on this model vs some of the other "mesh" routers out there and this one has a dedicated "backhaul" channel to communicate to the other wireless nodes around your home. That means no slowdown if you are connecting to one of the satellite node. Best part about this is that its super simple to set up.. im a techy person and dont have a problem setting up a router.. but its still nice to not have to hassle with it.. and even if you know what you are doing, setting up traditional wireless extenders can be a pain. This takes all the hassle out of the setup. Personally, I think its worth the price just for ease of setup.. but its one the best performing setups I have used as well. Some nice features: Dedicated Wireless backhaul Ethernet ports on the router to wire in devices Super Easy setup Looks pretty cool Excellent Performance Cons: A bit on the large side compared to some other mesh products. Overall, I would highly recommend. For transparency, I did receive this product for free from Netgear.

Does not work
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initially worked great. But after firmware upgrade, the satellites would disconnect and not reconnect. Only a power cycle would bring them back. Waited months for a firmware fix but that never happened. Ended up going back to my old router.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product actually made my internet slower and reduced the range of my router. Worked with Netgear twice to try and solve problem, but they were not helpful. Returning the product.

We were unable to get this product to work.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unfortunately we were unable to get the ORBI to work. However, our GEEK Squad technician had an EERO system which is a much lower profile and much easier to set up. Cost was approximately $50 more than the ORBI but it works!!!

Short range
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would not recommend this product. Satellites had to be in direct site of router and could only be 20 feet apart. Signal tested was only a 1/3 of my strength. Could never reach support so I had to return. Very disappointed.

BEST WiFi ROUTER EVER!!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a proud member of Netgears "Friends and Family" program and was sent this product, free, as part of that program, to setup and test. I found the setup to be extremely easy. It basically sets itself up. The performance is well beyond my expectations. I have tried other products that a very pricey and this one is extremely reasonable in comparison. I am a semi retired Special Education teacher and still tutor kids. It is very important for their electronic devices to have great signal strength. My home is approximately 4800 square feet and I have had problems in the past with signal strength. NOT ANYMORE!! With the addition of the very attractive satellite boosters, the signal is strong throughout the house. Even all the way outside on my deck. The new phone app is terrific. I would recommend this system to anyone that wants the best WiFi signal possible. Thanks Netgear. Keep up the great work!!!!

Delivers the goods
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: * Fast, simple setup * Excellent range without the shortcomings of range extenders * Strong signal with no dead zones * Ethernet ports on router and satellite * Color indicates placement locations * Ring LEDs on router and satellite make troubleshooting straightforward * Tri-band means less clogged bandwith Cons: * Higher retail cost This product does everything it promises it does, delivering great signal strength and convenience. Range extenders are inconvenient and cumbersome. Orbi solves the problem of weak WiFi for larger homes or small businesses. Just be prepared to pay a bit more compared to the traditional single router configuration, but it solves a big problem and completely delivers! I received this from NETGEAR under their First Look program

The Next Step In Wi-Fi
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So after having this product for over a week this is my overall impression and opinion on the Orbi ac2200. Note: That this was this sent to me by Netgear to write this review as being a part of their review program. Over that past week, Orbi has been absolutely wonderful! It provided more coverage than I expected. It covered my entire house and my backyard. Anywhere you are in my house you receive a full bar connection. Note that the link speed between you get drops a little the further away from the satellite but you are unable to notice a change in your connection speed, even for gaming! The only place in my house where we can get the cable line is in one of the furthest corners of the house. Because of this Orbi is perfect for someone in my situation. The last router which we bought was the Netgear Nighthawk x6 which is a great router but not great for having it placed where it was. The main reason Orbi is better is that you can place the satellites wherever there is a plug which means the Wi-Fi signal doesn't have to penetration walls as much compared to having a classic router setup. There are few cons to Orb though- The first one being that the setup did not go that smooth for me and I am an IT major. The directions were what I thought very simple. Press the sync button on the main router and run over to a satellite on which there is also a sync button. Press the sync button on each a few minutes apart and it will be connected. The problem I had was that they were just not syncing up even though the lights on the satellites were normal. The main router was unable to find one of the 2 satellites and continued to not being found. The solution was just continuing to run the setup and it finally worked after half an hour. Since then I have yet to have a satellite disconnect or have anything but perfect connect to the router. The only other con being that you do not know if your satellites are properly connected because it shows no colored ring at the top the only time you see a color is when the connection is good, fair, or it was unable to connect to the router. In conclusion, this product is ideal for families or a small business that have large areas with multiple connections, as it provides the best coverage possible for all users no matter how far away or how many people are connected. This is definitely a huge step forward for anyone who is in dire need of a Wi-Fi upgrade. This is really a huge step forward in the Wi-Fi game but it comes with a huge price that is more than justifiable for a business and or if you can afford this particular model of the Orbi.
