    good for apartment

I bought this because my apartment is in an old house so the signal can't bounce from one side to the other. I put this in the hallway and now the signal can hit my bedroom without dropping constantly. It does take a little bit to set it up. I recommend setting it up with a computer first because when I tried it with my iPhone I didn't think it was working. It takes 2 minutes for it to pick up the signal, but on the phone it doesn't give the countdown like it did on my laptop. I was able to stream a movie using an Amazon fire stick in my bedroom, when normally I can only get about 20 min in before the signal drops.

    Poor customer support/repeatedly disconnects

Before buying the PR2000, or any Netgear product, make sure you read the warranty. If the product fails or is defective upon purchase they will make you pay shipping, even if the item is only one day old. If you need to speak to customer service be prepared to listen carefully as English is not their first language. And if you use the chat service I found that even if they confirm something to you it means nothing. My PR2000 did connect to the internet but that was about all. If you turned it off it would not reacquire the data you input to set it up. Pretty worthless on a business trip.
