Great router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was leery about buying such a cheap router (I paid $30 for it), but now don't regret my decision at all. This is my third wireless router in 2 years. The first two constantly dropped wireless signals, and would require frequent restarts. It appears that the "third time's a charm", as this unit has not had a single incident of lost connection.

tough set-up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You'll probably need tech support for setup. The auto setup is very confusing, and does not give you the information you need. Also, don't expect this to work if you don't have a wired internet connection to start with. You need to have that connection to have the configuration process work properly; THEN you set up the wireless connection. But if you are not an expert, don't expect much success without tech support.

Easy to install
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I install networks for clients all the time. This is the product I usually suggest to the new comers, who need something simple for their home. If for some reason they need to move or change something. All they have to do is play the cd and it walks them step by step. It leave little room for error.

What a value!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best router I've every had (and I've had a few). It was easy to configure and install and surpasses all others I've had for nearly half the price!

Pleased with purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like many others, this was my first wireless router. Unlike others who reviewed this product, I have had a GREAT experience with it. It was extremely easy to set up and password protect. I have run both a pc and two different macs using the wireless and the speed is just as fast as connecting directly to my cable hookup. I get a full wireless signal anywhere I go in my home. I highly recommend!

A solid budget wireless router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nothing fancy here, but basic functionality and acceptable throughput at a cheap price. I bought this device to set up a hotspot at my 70-year-old mother's house. It gets only basic useage - mostly from me and siblings when we drop by with laptops (Mom has a hard-wired desktop). It works. Setup was simple. Bandwidth isn't blazing, but I didn't expect that at this price point.

Stable, Powerful, yet Small and Simple
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the 2nd WGR614 I've owned. First one died while trying to update firmware, modem wouldn't communicate with it. I would recommend this to absolutely anyone who is in need of a good router for a low price. This toy rang up $50 three years ago from Radioshack. It maxes at 54mbps, but that's fine for me as I get 30mbps from my ISP. The speed of the router itself is great as it does not crash unless you provoke it too, trust me... I know from the things I put my old one through and let me tell you the linksys I had from a friend couldn't. If you're a smoker, have a dusty house, don't keep the router in a clean place, there's no doubt the whiteness will fade away indefinitely. It's a sensible router when it comes to design. I have 5 rooms in my house that are averaged size. The router is in the back of the house. If I'm in the very front room by the window, I only receive two bars. I've achieved an unstable 4-3 bars with linksys.

Great Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The set up is not for someone who has little computer experience but once thats done it works great. Ive had it for about 3 years now and have not once had to reset it. There are some nice advanced features when you access the router that are even explained in detail (although not in a way for non advanced users) so that you can figure out how to configure them without the manual.

Decent Wireless Router for home use!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive had this router for about 2 years now and I dont have any major complants about it. Gets Pretty good signal, use it to connect my Wi-fi cell phone and that works, Some dont. Good speed on downloads, easy setup. cant get any easier on the setup. Basically its just a good Wi-fi Router at a low cost. It supports WPA2 encryption and the firmware is upgradeable. Good buy

You get what you pay for.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router is pretty convincing being only $40. The installation was simple and it was easy to configure most options. Then I noticed my NAT type for online games was constantly strict even though I set my NAT type to open on the option. So I decided to forward a couple ports in order to get it to open. It worked but the next day, one of the ports closed and wouldn't reopen which left it at strict again. Also, anything wireless loses connection to the internet at least once a day. It is really annoying because I have to restart the connection constantly which forces me to connect my Xbox directly to the router just so I don't lose connection which is pretty inconvenient. Ultimately, in this routers case, you get what you pay for. I would suggest paying a little more and going with a linksys router.

Netgear is the Way to GO for your Wireless NEEDS!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Wireless G router due to getting tired of DSL. The install is so easy put the disk in and go thru their set up guide. connection is easy. was up and running in about 10 minutes. the Range is very good. I live in a old house 1941 and My wife needed to be able to use her laptop around the house with no cords! Now I have a PS3 downstairs that I needed wireless connectivity and was worried being I was in a basement down a level. well no problems when I scanned the range I got 95% better than my DSL service from before. Then next I have input some wireless G adapters that I needed for my computers so I can do some networking in the basement as well. connecting those was easy my range I got 73% which is honestly GREAT. Cannot go wrong with this G Router I would buy more if needed. Suggestion I would hook that Modem to a surge protector so it doesnt fry. Great PRICE Great BEST BUY ThanK you~

Basic Wireless router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had this router for some time and I'll tell you, this is the best router for the money hands down. For $40, it does what you want it to. Although, I live in a 5,000 sq. ft. house and range was an issue when being on a different floor than the router. Range was my only complaint. It's easy as cake to set up (don't even need cd) and internet speed was decent.

Conventional Purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ideal for college students and dorms. Cheap router that gets the job done. The CD helps you set it up, but it got to a point where I had to call tec-support to get me through the rest of the set-up. We used my excisting internet connection to set it up. They helped me set up the name of the connection as well as the password... Strong singal through out the room...

I Like it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this online the same time as my dell laptop. I wanted wifi in my house for it so I could lounge around in my room on it when I could wire free. I had nev er had wifi or bought any router or anything never the less know how to install one. After calling the phone company trying to get it and being told Id have to have a credit check to do so I was fed up! I was just going to get it myself. So I ordered it.... I liked it for its color, price, and good reviews. When I recieved it I took it out the box, after realizing it didnt come with written instructions, I thoguht I was doomed. But I popped in the cdrom that came in the box and followed the instructons. Whatever you do use the software! Dont try to do it manually, I screwed up my internet connection, and stayed on the phone with internet agent for nearly an hour. If you follow the disc you cant lose. I really like it:good signal too! I reccomend it... hope this helps

So Simple My Wife could do it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.my lnksys wrt54G never could install correctly (3/8/05)...even with lots of help. Gave up on routers 5 years ago. This was absolutely the easiest installation of any that I have ever done. Worked first time use it for wired PC and wired NetFlix streaming movies. Followed 5 step install to the letter and before I knew my pc internet was up and running with no work on my part. Plugged in wired netflix and by the time I got to the TV my wife was already viewing a movie. My DSL speed was 2.5 mghz and while watching movie no problems, but as you might suspect, pc download at the same time was a little slower. Netflix in port1 PC in port2. Now I am not so skeptical about getting a wireless laptop for my lovely wife...we will see how easy that is. Thanks Best BUY, Braden and Christen (Hot Springs Ar Store) it worked just like you said it would

Great Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a Belkin at first and found it pure junk! I had to go to router a ten times a day to reset it when the connection dropped for no apparent reason. Then I got this which worked beautifully to this moment without any problem at all. I ignored it completely since the day I plugged it in and did not even notice it was there. It was that good! I bought the basic with has the smallest range but still it served me the purpose throughout the house. So, range is not an issue I guess unless you have a really large house or multistory! Great product!
