Good basic router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good price, easy setup, reliable so far. Three routers from this product line have been in my family to date, and all of them have been reliable. This model only provides A, B and G wireless speeds - if you need more speed, go for an N wireless router.

Easy setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not being very techie, I was intimidated by wireless. This router was super easy to setup and works very well everywhere in our large two story home. It does what it's supposed to do and the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend it!

Terrific device
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the router back in December 2009, but sold my Laptop, so I uninstalled the router and software. I just purchased a netbook, so I reinstalled. By all means, use the Install Wizard. If you can follow the simplest instructions, pop a CD into your PC, left-click a mouse and count to 3, installation is ABSOLUTELY FOOLPROOF and takes just minutes. My netbook immediately detected the network and I was in business.

awesome so far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have only had this for a little while but so far it has worked great. East to install just took about 20 minutes and worked for hours and hours. I have not tried it with the wii yet but it seems to be pretty great so far. The price was just right too.

NETGEAR Wireless Router

Simple and it works
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced a fading Dlink and upgraded from B to G in one easy step. It installed with Wideopenwest with no issue. I wasn't overly worried about wireless right now, so all that I really needed was wired gateway. No problems there either.

Great Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been a great product for me! I've had it for a year and a half now and it has nothing physically wrong with it. (durable) and the only problem i have had with this is the fact that the wireless fails sometimes. What I mean by this is that it will take a while, longer than usual for the page to load or video etc. and then I have to reset it. The same thing happens with my desktop computer which is hard-wired into it, it just freezes as it seems for a minute then works. I have found that this mainly happens when bad weather has ocurred. Other than that it is great!

great investment
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.some people say it took them along time to get it started but it only takes 10 minutes if you follow the installation cd. I was going to get my friend to set it up after all of these reviews saying it takes forever to get it started. But of course i opened the box and gave it a try. It worked just like that. A few days ago i bought the belkin and it was bad. I couldnt get online or anything. I returened it today and got this. I already hooked my psp to it and waiting until i get my new laptop to hook it right up. I dont think theirs anything to worry about with this product. In a month i will see how good it is still and right another review for you. I hope this changes your mind about another wireless router and think about this one. Its cheper than the others and has good quality.

Set up wasn't easy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great price, but difficullty setting up with Windows 7. Called Netgear. First person I spoke with was very helpful and advised me that my modem mode needed to be changed to continue set-up. Modem mode was changed and I called back the next day and was told that I need to continue set up with a paid technician because a specific device was needed. I advised this "expert tech" (per Netgear's ongoing phone advertisement) that the first tech (prior day) told me that I only needed to change the modem mode and the set up could be completed. He adamantly refused to let me speak with his supervisor or try to assist me any further. I called back, spoke with the third tech and was assisted to completion of set-up. It was a bit exasperating, but I'm glad I hung in:)

Excellent Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went on to Best Buy's website looking for reviews on wireless routers. I found the reviews for this router to be the best. I went to the local Best Buy, spoke with a tech and told them about my set-up and internet provider, they then went immediately for this router. I hadn't even mentioned which routers I had been looking at. I bought it(on sale, I might add), took it home, read the directions for set-up and was up and running wirelessly in a few minutes. I have never had electronic equipment that was this easy to set-up. I highly recommend this product.

Fantastic, easy to setup and use!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a router to share cable internet (comcast) between my main pc, my laptop, and an xbox 360. After browsing at the store, a sales associate recommended this one from his personal experience and I couldn't be more pleased with it. Though the wireless works great with my laptop, I like having the option of a wired connection. I've had all three pieces of equipment running at the same time and experienced no decrease in internet performance. If you are looking for a simple, easy to use, low-cost router I would definitely recommend this one!

Quick and Easy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set up in a flash. I did not use the included software, as I hate those packages that junk up your computer with unneeded software. Went to their website, set the name and password, and haven't had a problem at all. Nothing to complain about. I like the way this unit looks, the lights are pretty colors!

Made my internet faster
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't believe how easy this was to install. I usually end up throwing a mouse any time I have to do tech type stuff with the computer. This was very smooth and now my internet service is faster. Yippee.

WIRELESS ROUTER

Good Base Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this router for a small business network that also needed a "guest" access capability. Works perfect for the needed purpose. I am always surprised by people saying that they need a more than 50MBPS in transfer rate, do they know that most basic networks can't transfer data that fast. Most homes and offices are wired with Cat5e, and even in PREFECT conditions you wont get that speed even though it is rated at 100MBPS. Take into account that you are now transferring wirelessly...not in a million years. Save the money - go with a basic 'g' router - as the time of this writing, they were half the price! And, only about $18 for a refurb one!

Overall good router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this router as an extension for my wireless network under WDS. Stock Netgear firmware was easy to set up. Router works as expected, and for the price that I bought it, was worth while.

Cheap wireless router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this thing for my in-laws. The setup was ok, though it's a little trickier for DSL vs. cable. I found this to be extremely quirky when using any kind of encryption - at random it would kick computers off. what I had to do was give it the MAC addresses of the computers that were ok and forget about the whole encryption key. Perhaps if you are really experienced at routers and networking, you could get it to behave. Otherwise, I recommend just using the MAC address trick. Wireless is usually quirky, so I wasn't expecting much. It's ok for the price.

The smart choice after I wasted time with a Belkin
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After wasting my time one whole day trying to get the Belkin Basic to keep a signal, I took it back, spent the extra $5 & got this router. Took about 10min to set up & has worked fantastic ever since. Nice solid router for my home internet uses.
